Vaseline wears off fast and makes my lips even dryer. I hate it!

Same! I have dry skin to begin with so vaseline/petrolatum products just make me crusty 😭

Aquaphor lip balm is totally different from the other stuff and you can tell when you use it. I love the lip ointment.
Thanks for the great information! A tinted lip balm with SPF that I currently use and love is Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Care SPF 25. There are a few shades, I like the Naturally Nude shade.
I turn 60 this Summer & the lip balm I currently use is The Naked Bee Orange Blossom and Honey lip Balm. It costs only $6 & I found that at Ace Hardware. However The Naked Bee also has their own website with a whole line of skin care. I find this lip balm works very well for me. I’ve also just recently found at Walmart that Neutrogena makes a lip mask to wear at night. It’s glossy but I find it stays on pretty well.

I have had chapped lips for years and couldnt figure out what the issues was. I was using carmex and the more chapped they got the more i used it... the visious circle! I am thowing these out!

Hi Dr. Liu. Just wanted to ask, is it okay to use "vitamin A and D ointment" as forever lipbalm? I have tried it for a week and it works really really good. No lipbalm has work wonders like A&D ointment to my lips so far. Is it okay to use for a long time as lipbalm? Hope you notice this. Ty
Dr Jenny! I just found this video and thank his for you. I’ve been dealing with really chapped and damaged lips for a month now. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. I’m so desperate and I’m going to try some of the products you mentioned. The only thing that is kind of working is the Clinique moisture surge lip treatment, but it still leaves me dry if I’m not consistently using it.

The Avene lip cream has been discontinued 😢😢😢 every single time I find the perfect product it goes away 😢😢
My cousin wants me to make a natural lip balm for his 95 year old mother who has been waking up in the mornings with her dry lips stuck together.

So I've been trying Aquaphor and Vaseline so far.. and my lips are still very chapped and peeling.. I am so desperate for relief and my dermatologist sadly isn't helping.. she's saying I am using all the things that are the best.. Thank you for this video.
Hi!!!! My lips are peeling too!!! Vaseline really dried out your lips, a lot of others have the same story as me :( they wake up with big redness around their skin and peeling. I now put coconut oil on my lip to hydrate it and im gonna see how it goes tomorrow. Do u have any updates? :)
I recommend Eucerin lip balm. It repaired my lips within 1 week. I reapplied it every time I noticed that it wore of. I'm still applying it daily as well as a plant based vaseline available only in Germany. You may also try hemp seed oil. It is also good.

I know that this is an old comment, but I would see if you're perhaps allergic or simply don't tolerate well their ingredients, while they work for a lot of people, everyone is different

Hi Dr., does Colorescience Lip Shine SPF 35 safe for lip eczema? I haven't found any safe lipstick for my lips since I got eczema. My lips itch especially the vermilion border. Just want to find a safe tinted lip balm so I dont look dead ... :(

A year later but hope you reply anyway. Would you say that the Chapstick "Classic | Original" is a good chapstick to use?
I use the plain Vaseline petroleum gel at night as my lip mask and it works! Then I use Vaseline lip therapy once or twice for the rest of the day.
Other lip balms like Chapstick, Burt's Bees etc just don't work

Jack Black has a really great SPF lip balm! I use the mint version.
I have both sides of my mouth slit and i tried vaseline and other lip balms but its not healing, ita been a month and each time i open my mouth to eat i feel it gets re-slit and doesnt heal properly

Hi my lips are every bad and scalp on all the time went dermatologist and she test said I have some can of grems call strachbou something like this grems every have in their nose armbits and bell bottom and she gave me antibiotics so many different creams nothing is working so please help me thank

Yes! It’s my favorite spf lip balm. Hydrates super well and actually has a good taste to it unlike all the other chemical spf lip balms out there. I’ve tried many, went on a hunt for the perfect spf lip balm, and O’Keeffe’s is by far the best out there
