Sold my G2, which had run nearly flawlessly over 5 months and 1,550 rounds (All 115 gr, 80/20 FMJ/JHP). Just didn't like hearing all the Taurus Warranty Turnaround Horror Stories. Missed it, Got me a G2C 10 months later, and am happy again. New G2C has hit 500 all FMJ 115 gr in 2 one hour range trips, solid and completely perfect performance. She just goes bang, and I like that. ;) Accuracy on these small pistols is remarkable, once you realize the trigger is nuanced, but very good. Reset is so short it's stupid. Just keep pressure on for follow up shots, don't release the trigger completely, just like KB is doing here. Also, super super common to really throw left on this gun, until you get used to the trigger. The trigger breaks almost fully rear, so it's very easy to throw left. These guns are f'n amazing. :)
Got mine last week...350 rounds. It shot low and to the right...I made adjustments and was hitting 2 inch groups on center at 7 yards standing consistently. Love this gun...ordered a second today.
Had to adjust my sites all the way to the right like yours. Shoots perfect. low left is normal for right handers but is easily corrected (and fun) with lots of rounds down range. When I do have a flier it's almost always low left. Asmund short stroke trigger makes a big difference on the g2/g2c. I had an issue with the elevation screw not staying in place. There are three notches (adjustment levels) on my G2C and it's zero'd in the middle position. I would feed a coupe of mags worth through it and it would start shooting low, I'd check the rear site and it would be sitting flush at the bottom (no gap between slide and bottom, center section of sites). A tiny dot of super glue on each end of the adjuster resolved this. The reason it did not appear you have three elevation settings is because the slight tension with the windage adjusted all the way right or left doesn't let the rear site fall all the way down to the bottom/lowest setting. Just press on it with your finger and it will go all the way down. It loosens up with use. This is a great EDC and extremely reliable. 1000 + rounds and no issues.
Great info, I got a g2c last week and my rear sight was offset out of the box. I'm famous for breaking things so I looked for a video before I started cranking screws.
My DAO Taurus PT111 G2 9mm for $185 with 2/12rd magazines was accurate out of the box. I have a Glock, Canik and XDs and the Taurus is my carry gun. I love this gun, and of all guns I own is the most accurate out of the box, with exception of my Canik. The best deal hands down! Have shot about 800rds through the gun using various ammo types without a single FTF or FTE, to include reloads. My only complaint is the front sight is plastic, which I have remedied by purchasing a metal Lakeline front night sight for $39, did not go for the package rear sites given there appears to be no adjustment for windage. Took about 3 minutes to install. Side note, the Canik 18/20 round mags will work in the Taurus PT111 G2. Thanks for making this video Kotaboy32!!
Buck Naked Thanks for the tip Buck. What model is the Canic? I would love to have a bigger mag for my G2c. I have been told that Sig P226 mags will work but options are always good.
The trick to this gun is to have a super tight grip. As firm as possible during each shot to maximize accuracy. I have the 140 G2. This gun handles rapid fire surprisingly well. Great job Taurus!
Lone Wolf totally agree. Mine was shooting low left. Did an adjustment and not too much change. I had to really get into my grip and got really nice groups in the center.
I've had the same experience with mine, elevation works great, but windage sucked, always seemed to shoot 2/3" to left. I thought it might be my technique of trigger pull. Then I saw Henry Schwarie comment "The front sight is slightly out of kelter. You can turn it, but only do it slightly. It will make a big difference" and will try that. Also, I purchased a crimson trace laser CM-201, to absolutely make POA and POI the same at a given distance. If the front sight realignment works, I probably upgrade the front only with the Lakeline LLC fiber optic. I don't recommend the glow in the dark type of sights because if it is so dark you need the sights to glow , what exactly are you aiming at?
went to the range yesterday, put 100 round thru it trying to adjust sights, windage worked, but my shots were all over the place,i was shooting free handed (NO REST) and the range only had 124 grain 9mm ammo, normally i would use 115grain,. dont think its the bow,its the indian!! LOL i need practice
Enjoyed the video. I've had the PT111 and a G2C for 3+ years. I was told that they weren't very accurate for long range shooting. But it looks like it's fine with hitting the mass.
If you move your sights and get no change in results, then it's likely your trigger squeeze. I think this phenomena becomes more and more pronounced as the pistol size and weight gets smaller. If you shoot it left handed, I bet you'll start pulling to the right. I am much more accurate with a larger and heavier pistol. When it comes down to it though, you can't take time to make precision shots in most defensive situations. You will likely within 10 yards of your attacker as well. The range is a perfect situation, the street is not. For self defense, keeping it on the paper is probably good enough.
Went to the range yesterday was hitting low and to the left, I didn’t take any tools with me to adjust. Will be going back next week to make adjustments. And hopefully be on point. I have no issues with my Taurus 1911 dead on every time!
Just picked one of these up at my local shop. Less than $250 OTD. Not a Bad gun at all for the money. Seems like a much better value than a new hi point.
Taurus sights are set up for you to put the front sight ON the target. The trigger on this is way long and close so low left is very common for right handers.
after putting a few mags thru mine today i can concur. same problem. i had to adjust the elevation but i do feel like its a bit too small for my hand and the trigger could be just a bit further forward. i know your comment was 3 yrs ago but others might come along and read this.
People don’t realize how difficult it is to be a proficient shooter, I remember when i first started shooting pistols I pulled to the right, it became even more noticeable at longer distances elevation was good, but to compensate I always shot to the left. Noob stuff. But at the minimum sight picture, grip pressure, recoil control and trigger finger control must be understood and practiced and it takes a lot of paper time after that to become proficient. Then you start all over when you get into draw and training scenarios.
I don't like how the sight can't "bottom out" like you said. I didn't know if mine was defective or not, I see yours just cycles up and down continuously as well. Glad I saw your video!
My Taurus PT 24/7 has the same sight adjustment system and has the same problem. No matter where I adjusted the sight, it shot to the left. I like the 24/7 for a number of reasons and features, but can't say I care for the sight system. Grouping is always good and I'm hitting Center of Mass at 10 yards, so I'm not too concerned engaging the target.
They make targets that let you know little issues you may inadvertently be having. Anticipating recoil too much trigger finger etc. quite useful for newbs and getting new toys. Probably printable versions online. 😉 good video. Thanks
Sometimes what we want at the range falls a little short as my eyes play games with me sometimes so I have turned into the shooter that just throws lead down range to keep my sanity...Good little pistol especially for the money...thanks for the info and vid...Good stuff...
Honestly, I don't know about this. I used to be able to shoot good groups with mine, and then it started acting up. I grabbed a Ruger 22 to see if it was my grip or trigger action, and I was dead on accurate. Back to the Taurus, and it was left and low every time. I adjusted the rear site, and still low and left, just like you see in this video. This seriously makes me think that there is something wrong with the design of the handgun that deserves better examination. I have again tested MY skills by shooting a 357 and a 45 mag and had no problems with either. So if ONE shooter tries 3 different handguns with good results, and then has unacceptable results with the Taurus, and if other shooters report the exact same problem...maybe it is the handgun, and not the shooter.
That's some pretty nice grouping for that pistol, I just ordered one and I already know at least one person will say something. I'm putting a reflex sight on it just for the hell of it because I'm pretty fond of them. What would you think about using one on the G2c?
There is a YT video regarding adjusting the sights of the Taurus G2S/C. However, the advice is incorrect: he states the front screw is for elevation and the rear for windage. He's got it Bass ackward, but no comments are allowed. The manual is quite clear on this.
Ha Ha....it might have been you that day on the range but I adjusted mine just a little bit higher and to the right from out of the box after a couple sessions on the range. Made a big difference to me. After adjusting, I was in a grouping I can definitely live with now. I have both the PT 111 G2 and the PT 140. The 140 was fine out of the box factory sighted but NOT the 9mm/PT 111. At least to my point of aim.
The sight picture is rather large aswell so u got a lot of wiggle room side to side of the front dot you gotta square up the front in the middle of the rear before even atempting adjustments. My g2c observations.
The trigger pull really makes a difference. I have both the g2 and g2c, the g2c shoots better. Don't know if it's the security system or not but the g2c just shoots better. You can adjust the sights on the g2 all you want and it still pulls but the g2c hits dead center.
I noticed when adjusting my g2c sights it doesn't go up one way and down another. If u look close it goes up and down no matter what way u turn. I put them all the way down and its right on the money with my bore sight. We'll c how it does at the range but it can't possibly be worse than it was. As far as left to right im not sure that didn't need much tweaking. All i know is all my other pistols have been on the money out the box. My g2c has always been off. Either the sights r off, the trigger throws me off, or it is just an inaccurate pistol. My shield has a slightly smaller barrel and is way more accurate
Wow, I guess I should have read the manual, lol! I didn't know I could adjust them...nor did I know HOW to adjust any sights at all!!! Thanks for this video, hope you got yours back in order, lol. I learned something I have been curious about(-:
so the first notch in the front is for left or right? I had those issues b4 and I didn't understand how the sights worked so I went and bought a Gen 3 glock 17 and 19. it works great at 25 yards but shoots slightly left. I thought after shooting 975 rounds it would balance itself out lol thank you sir for helping me.
U say it didn't make that big of a difference at 10 yards. What about 15 or 20? Was gonna adjust mine at the range today but after taking a closer look i think it was more shooter error than anything so i left them as is. Its just weird cuz my ruger and shield r on point but sometimes i cant even tell where my g2c hits. Thats why i thought the sights needed to be adjusted but i think i just need to get more familiar with it
I just bought one and took it to the range as long as I keep the distance within combat range it is point of aim. I don't see why I would go further than 5 to 7 yards with this gun it is for protection not precision.
I practice with my son. At 66 and mild arthritis lots of shhoting sometimes I also have a bad day, but I do enjoy each and every bullet. Have more fun with my 556R. No offense. Again have a nice day. Nice video, won a like.
The firearm will shoot everytime, but the only bullseye I get is when the two back dots are on the bullseye and the front sight is down right under the bullseye. It’s got a bad aiming system but good firearm.
Got my PT111 and went though the same ... off target to the left ... had the gunshop adjust my sights and it got better ... then I tried just firing with one hand and was dead on target ... couldn't figure that one out
I have mine adjusted all the way out and it’s still low. I was wondering if anyone else has issues with their sights not adjusting enough? I’ve been shooting since I was a kid so I know it’s not my trigger pull or flinching or anything.
For $200 you will not find a better mouse gun. I carry mine everyday. I do not love the trigger but I got used to it because it was not that bad. You also do not want to put more than a few mags through it at the range because my finger got sore after 3 or 4 mags. But I would trust this gun with my life it runs flawless no matter what you put through it.
best lay off the self maintenance in the shower if you fingers are that weak. I ran mine for a few hours today. went thru 5 bricks. 115g. And I am an old fukr with extensive arthritis in the hands are elbows.. Man up Kitty Kat
I truely believe its becaue of the wind not the shooter or the gun you can here it in the mic plus the target as well as the little thing under it are fluttering in the wind and on a few shoots when the round hits the ground behind the target you can see the dust fly to the left and with you favoring the left with a 100% Consistency I would say without a doubt it is the wind
Same thing with mine. It irritated me so much that I decided to go with a 2 dot system. Will be shooting in a couple days hopefully this does the trick. Hate these factory sights but not going to spend $100 to fix it. (Paint pens)
This gun accurate for close encounters . but i did notice had target farther and did a head shot 20 yards it was on . it depends on how you grip gun good arm control . i also frim grip relax it can be dead center on target. But keep practicing will make perfect after time. I have never adjust any screws yet . its the shooter.
My G2 goes bang every time I pull the trigger and it shoots up and to the left also but i forgot to take the adjustment tool to the range with me. Still the best $239.99 i spent for a firearm.
my elevation adjustment keeps moving around. it doesn’t stay put. could that be happening to anyone else?? i cant figure out how to disassemble to out loctite in there
There a screw on top that holds the rear site on i loosen just enough to adjust sights then tighten.i was hitting high and left at first the adjusted down and right. Got on the bullseye at 10 yds you might wanna check that top screw its probally a little loose
Mine was shooting just like this out of the box. I found this video so I can tinker with the sights a bit and hopefully get it zeroed in a little better... After watching, though, it appears as though it may just be wishful thinking. Lol Also added an Armalaser so hopefully I can get at least that honed in.
Here's the problem. Look at your front sight. It's probably slightly out of line, so slightly you didn't notice until I mentioned it. Take a small pair of pliers and gently twist it ever so slightly in line with the barrel. That should fix it.
Thanks for the advice. I don't see my front sight as being out of line but next time I go to the range I'll adjust it slightly and see if anything changes. I've adjusted these sights every which way and I still hit low and left.
Great channel. I watch it all the time. I also have the pt111 and it's a great pistol for the money. I'm with you on this though no matter how I adjust the sights it's always going left. It's not just you.
I was shooting low..real low and left. Adjusted the sights and started getting great groups. Than I was shooting low again..I noticed the set screw was moving while I was shooting..anyone else experiance this and what did you do to compensate ?
yes i'm shooting about 3 inches or more low at combat range , i adjusted the rear sight as high as it would go and it printed a little higher then but far from bullseye left to right is fine it's just printing way low , i can actually hit dead center five shot groups making one big hole with a airweight 38 S&W j frame and the same with my full size 45 so it's the gun or sights , i've heard the same thing over and over so i will be contacting Taurus about sending me some new sights free of charge , there's a flaw in their rear sight system
Great video... reminds me of the line in the movie My Cousin Vinny exchanging the word stove for sights... So your sights defy the laws of physics ? ) Ha.. that's funny.
Hey man, we just got this model with stainless option for my wife. Wondered if it was just ours, but, listening to yours I hear the same aggrevating click before ignition. The first time I heard it I thought we had a missfire. I never experienced this with any other model. I don"t like it and, neither does my wife. I think in certain situations it could alert an intended target. Danger Will Robins.
Save ur money, take white out put on the dot's on ur sights. There is no perfect sights. Practice, practice. U have to shoot and pay attention to where you are hitting the target. Then try to adjust yourself and shoot a round and make ur adjustments. U might have to raise ur gun if u are shooting low, or to the left or right It's just commen sense. If u want to be aucurate no matter WHAT sights u have ur in control. Thats why u have to practice. Buy bullets not all these expensive sights. Why do u think a military markmans is so GOOD. BECAUSE they practice shooting thousands of rounds . Right Shawn Ryan.
@@whatsupdoc4709 Much better (and more durable) than the factory plastic sights. There are several makers of replacement sights, but I bought the Truglo TFX Pro set (TG-H3)
Just don't forget, this was built as a self defense gun not a range gun, pull and start blasting at center of enemy / intruder / person of interest...12 rounds you better be able to hit em.
It's not you boss, the one I shot pulled right, no matter what we did. They have a serious problem with the sight on those weapons. You may get a good one, you may not.
I loosened the top screw first before adjusting the side screws. Once you get it on target, tighten the top screw down and you're good to go.
Thank you! I tried watching another video on this and the guy took forever to get to the point. Thanks to you I got my TX22 adjusted in no time.
That's the way my pt111 was shooting. At 15 yrds I have to hold real deep sight still hits higher than I want.
Got mine last week...350 rounds. It shot low and to the right...I made adjustments and was hitting 2 inch groups on center at 7 yards standing consistently. Love this gun...ordered a second today.

Just picked one of these up at my local shop. Less than $250 OTD. Not a Bad gun at all for the money. Seems like a much better value than a new hi point.

it's all about the front sight Kota!
Was the wrench part of the package?
i found the adjustment is good 15 feet or less further out wild on the sights, my 24/7 G2 is a great carry but 15 feet is all in on the sights
You have to tighten the center screw on top before and after I think! That's the only way I got mine to work!
says nothing of this in manual
Got my PT111 and went though the same ... off target to the left ... had the gunshop adjust my sights and it got better ... then I tried just firing with one hand and was dead on target ... couldn't figure that one out
good video / good comments. Lets remember it didnt cost $899. like my Sig P239
I have mine adjusted all the way out and it’s still low. I was wondering if anyone else has issues with their sights not adjusting enough? I’ve been shooting since I was a kid so I know it’s not my trigger pull or flinching or anything.
its not you, even after adjusting my sights i was still hitting to the left of center on the targe
Thanks for the video. I could not find a section on how to adjust the sights in the manual.
Page 19 in my manual. Mine is the 9mm.
BS ... it's not a mouse gun.... that is a 22 or 25 caliber. 9mm is a standard fighting and military and poiuce round, right?
best lay off the self maintenance in the shower if you fingers are that weak. I ran mine for a few hours today. went thru 5 bricks. 115g. And I am an old fukr with extensive arthritis in the hands are elbows.. Man up Kitty Kat
I think it's the ammo. You did the adjustments by the book.
I have watched several videos on the G2. I really find a lot of value in your videos. when will you post your G2 "final" review?
The pistol was shooting awesome before any sight movement. 10 yards is very challenging for me.
Same thing with mine. It irritated me so much that I decided to go with a 2 dot system. Will be shooting in a couple days hopefully this does the trick. Hate these factory sights but not going to spend $100 to fix it. (Paint pens)
Did this help?
Ive a G2C and it throws to the left no matter the sight adjust. Prolly just me, but I hold right edge to put on target.
I have the same issue with my sight adjustment. No matter how many times I make adjustments it either shoots far right or far left of center mass.
@Kotaboy32 What unit were you with Leg!
I've had the same experience with mine. Shoots basically the same no matter how I adjust it. Which is frustrating.
The front sight is slightly out of kelter. You can turn it, but only do it slightly. It will make a big difference.
Gee Mac72
Mine shoots bout 3 inches to the right at 10 yards ,how is yours
@@thedirtybirdgamefarm3125 mine too exactly
It's the loose lock up with the barrel to slide fit. Put down on the the chamber block. It will never be accurate with a lock up like that.
That’s how mine shoots too lol. I just aim right of my center target and they all group perfect. Might be me pulling left or the sights idk lol.
Just got one shooting low and to the left no matter what I do with sights
Can you adjust sights downwards? I’m having issues with mine
My G2 goes bang every time I pull the trigger and it shoots up and to the left also but i forgot to take the adjustment tool to the range with me. Still the best $239.99 i spent for a firearm.
Are the sights on this pt 111 g2 and pt 24/7 g2 the same?
Good Stuff Bother, I appreciate ya! Carry On!
The rear sight don't adjust high enough, there should be more adjustment then there is for elevation.
I wish they would make a pt145 gen2 I love my pt145 ten rounds of 45 acp in the same size as the pt111
my elevation adjustment keeps moving around. it doesn’t stay put. could that be happening to anyone else?? i cant figure out how to disassemble to out loctite in there
There a screw on top that holds the rear site on i loosen just enough to adjust sights then tighten.i was hitting high and left at first the adjusted down and right. Got on the bullseye at 10 yds you might wanna check that top screw its probally a little loose
El problema de los tiros hacia las izquierda resd las posición del dedo en el disparador...
I bought 2 brand new g2c’s wrapped in plastic inside the box with a flag in the chamber and neither of them had that tool what the heck??
First place you should only be making 1 adjustment at a time not 2
Mine was shooting just like this out of the box. I found this video so I can tinker with the sights a bit and hopefully get it zeroed in a little better... After watching, though, it appears as though it may just be wishful thinking. Lol Also added an Armalaser so hopefully I can get at least that honed in.
Its better then a Highpoint!
So is a rock lol. I do own this gun though and I love it.
I can’t find a sight adjustment for the 1st gen. Mine are slightly off.
Of all my guns this one is the only one that shoots left. Very frustrating.
So what state are you in that u can only run 5 round mags??
Not MN
Did anybody's shoot always a lil high? Plz help this beginner..thanks in advance.
Need to lock it into a bench vise of some sort. Hand accurizing is only so useful, really.
Focus on the front sight, not the bullseye...you're putting the bullseye on the sight instead of the other way around.
Some of them come with the front sight slightly cockeyed. Needs to be straightened with pliers.
Had the same issue just couldn’t figure it out 😂
You're gonna make me get one aren't you..........dang KB
Thanks
You adjust what you need to. You don't just start going out or in all the way with the adjustment. That has to be a problem creater.
I would not go and sdjust all the way over adjustment to start. Never showed us shit.
Gun guys can be like prostitutes and politicians. Shit talkers.
Yup. That is just GD stupidddddddddddddddddddddddddd.
Great video... reminds me of the line in the movie My Cousin Vinny exchanging the word stove for sights... So your sights defy the laws of physics ? )
Ha.. that's funny.
Dandahermit Seals that's the trigger/hammer resetting you will get that with ever gun you buy
The adjustments on the sights are fine, you literally forgot that the whole rear sight base moves too and you didn't even consider that...lol
Mine didn't come with the key..
Probably the most logical comment I've ever seen in regards to Marksmanship and sites excellent job thanks for the awesome
CANIK TP9 V2 MAGS WORK IN THE TAURUS PT111G2
I don't think it holds the slide open on the last round though
I own one of these. Nice gun and workmanship, but the sights on it are abysmal. I'm going to get some after-market sights.
TBNTX how are your upgraded sights working? What kind did you use?
@@whatsupdoc4709 Much better (and more durable) than the factory plastic sights.
There are several makers of replacement sights, but I bought the Truglo TFX Pro set (TG-H3)
Just don't forget, this was built as a self defense gun not a range gun, pull and start blasting at center of enemy / intruder / person of interest...12 rounds you better be able to hit em.
Is not the sight. Is him! Put the video in slow motion and you can see the kick of that gun.
Then explain why everyone is shooting to the left of center.
It's not you boss, the one I shot pulled right, no matter what we did. They have a serious problem with the sight on those weapons. You may get a good one, you may not.
can't have eagle eyes ever time at the range. but close enough will get the job done. love the pistol and the channel.
Forgot to say you need more practice.
Mines shoot to the left regardless ugh
