Nic Cage made three of the best action movies of all time back-to-back; The Rock (1996), Con Air (1997) and Face/Off (1997). Now that you've seen the first two, it's time for the latter!
Wow, i would have ranked those as among the worst drek he ever made. The action is good, but the scenario in each to get his character into the situation is so ridiculous as to befit a National Lampoon spoof.
@@scottbuckley823 I always thought it was because Greene was didn't care how things went either way and just along for the ride. The dude is batshit crazy after all.
There is a fan theory going around about Garlend Green( Steve Buscemi). Garlend gets away. Does good at craps and reforms. He then loses it all and moves to L.A. Where he continues to go by the name Donny and joins a bowling team with teammates named Jeffery "The Dude" Labowski and Walter.
A funny thing about this film is the theme song was sung by two women, recorded the same day, They both thought their song would be in the movie. They both topped the charts and won awards. It's pretty ridiculous.
In the original script for Con Air, the plane crashed into the White House & Cameron Poe saved the President from Cyrus. They switched the crash to Las Vegas because a casino there was scheduled for demolition, and the production could borrow it to destroy whatever they wanted.
I realized after all these decades that the US Military actors including the driver whose Dave Chappelle's character hit were all actors from the show Stargate SG1. 😂
The drunk guy in the bar that starts the problems is the same actor from 'Heat' Waingro(Kevin Gage is his name) who also starts all the problems in that movie as well.
There’s a TikTok I just saw recently where there was a fan theory that Steve Buscemi’s character Garland in Con Air is the same character as Donnie in The Big Lebowski. The theory is that he takes his winnings from Vegas and makes his way to Los Angeles where he meets up with Walter and The Dude and joins their bowling team but he doesn’t stop serial killing because he continuously wears bowling shirts but none of them with the name Donnie.
Hannah & Toy gave the most heartwarming reaction to Con Air! This is Nicholas Cage at his best, with John Malkovich playing a truly memorable villain, and Steve Buscemi really steals the show! I love your reactions and can’t wait for more to come from you ladies!
Saw this on VHS Christmas Day 1997, along MEN IN BLACK and i was blown away by how fun it is! Jason Isaacs, Mickey Rourke, Willem Dafoe, Tom Sizemore, And Bruce Willis were considered for the villainous Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom. Kevin Bacon, Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Richard Dreyfuss, James Gandolfini, Michael Keaton, Ed Harris, Rutger Hauer, William Hurt, Michael Madsen, Jack Nicholson, Sean Penn, Ron Perlman, Tim Robbins and John Travolta were considered for the role as well. Robert Downey Jr, Charlie Sheen, John Turturro, and Matthew Broderick were considered for Vince Larkin. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stephen Baldwin, William Baldwin, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Dolph Lungdren, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone, Jean Claude van Damme, and Bruce Willis were considered for Cameron Poe. Jonathan Hensleigh, Jim Kouf, and JJ Abrams did rewrites to the movie, in order to beef up the dialogue and action scenes.
Cyrus the virus 😂😂 is my favorite character in this movie^^ 😂🤣🤣 "That`s a rock" - Best line 🤣🤣 Greetings @all from Germany. Toy andf Hannah are great looking again. ☺
Cyrus’ death is so satisfying, but I love how over the top it is. First he gets stabbed through the leg with a broken fire pole, then crashes through an overpass, going through two panes of thick glass, then onto a series of power lines, and finally gets his head obliterated by an industrial rock crusher. Absolute insanity and it hits this movie perfectly. One of my favorite campy action films.
My favorite Nic Cage movie is Wild At Heart (1990) "This is a snakeskin jacket! And for me it's a symbol of my individuality, and my belief... in personal freedom."

a group of stars in their golden years, and an unforgettable action. they don't make movies like this anymore.
"Make a move and the bunny gets it." Being John Malkovich would be a good follow up to this.
Nick Cage was in a movie about a snuff film called 8mm. You talk about screwed up! Joaquin Phoenix is in it as well.
Con Air. A title that can actually be taken literally. An aircraft filled with convicts.
Glad to see you decided to dig into the backstory of Donny from "The Big Lebowski". RIP Donny.
Nick Cage's real name is Nicolas Kim Coppola. He is the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola who directed The Godfather films.
Steven Buscemi really played his role well. Just his introduction is already terrifying.
I love how the merciless serial killer is still free at the end, but everybody is okay with it.
Steve’s character for some reason was calmly hilarious at pointing obvious facts throughout the movie.
Being from Texas, I get plenty of opportunities to say to someone "This is your barbeque and it sure tastes good!"

I actually tear up at the end when the daughter embraces Cameron and he shares a glance with his wife.
