Came across this just now, you asked what is “Tex-Mex”, it’s the Spanish most of us Mexican-Americans in Texas speak. Like the way Selena grew up, Spanish wasn’t learned right away or constantly spoken unless around family for some Mexican-Americans. Our Spanish is a little off or sometimes words are a bit jumbled compared to Spanish spoken in Mexico.
Instead of saying fourteen she said the two numbers sepreate thinking thats how u say it in spanish lol so she said "ten a four" instead of fourteen lol
Selena mixed up the way to say 14 in Spanish: 10 is diez 11 is once 12 is doce 13 is trece 14 is catorce 15 is quince 16 is dieciséis; where you start saying diez (10) y [insert number in the tenth’s place] so 10 and 6= 16 It’s this way until you reach 20: veinte Then 20s you go veintiuno ( 20 and 1) Selena said diecicuatro instead of saying catorce; every number starting 11-14 ends with -oce; 15 is quince; and 16 to 19 starts with diec- and then the single number. Classic Spanglish mistake (Haha I made this more complex than it had to be explained but whatever)
You are officially a Selena fan Bushy Mama 😆 WELCOME ❤️
Can't wait to see your reaction to part 2.

Selena messed up the word in that interview, she said "diecicuatro" instead of "catorce" which is fourteen in Spanish.
Explain that Diez is Ten and Cuatro us four, so she said number fourteen like that but it's Catorce in Spanish

I would love to hear your thoughts on the series.
Tomorrow Selena the series on netflix!!!!
U should react to all four of them
Selena mixed up the way to say 14 in Spanish:
10 is diez
11 is once
12 is doce
13 is trece
14 is catorce
15 is quince
16 is dieciséis; where you start saying diez (10) y [insert number in the tenth’s place]
so 10 and 6= 16
It’s this way until you reach 20: veinte
Then 20s you go veintiuno ( 20 and 1)
Selena said diecicuatro instead of saying catorce; every number starting 11-14 ends with -oce; 15 is quince; and 16 to 19 starts with diec- and then the single number.
