Bet that was a fun job. The shoddy wiring, the reprogramming, the fact the panel needed to be replaced. I would be having fun with that job and my OCD would make me want to completely re-wire the panel to fix it back to how it was supposed to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if the bad wiring was part of the reason the panel lost its programming. However, i think it may have to do with the flash memory or ram chip being on its way out.
8088 is old, we had the 8500 that we manufactured with an 8085 chip, we would network it to a zenith z100 terminal that ran on an 8088 chip. In 1992 they moved towards microcontrollers
Still do but don't have a DOS computer. I still perfer the dip switches, seems like there were some bugs when using the computer. It's nice to be able to upload and look at what's there but sometimes funny things happen when you download.

I’ve been binge watching a lot of your videos tonight, and you are one amazing tech!!!
Great video!
That's some 1960's NASA computer kind of stuff there lol
Love it, thanks for posting. I put up with this crap daily, ..messy wiring.

Is it possible to put a TG7 or HWF2COM or any other cell communicator on these 4002's?
There are Alarm and Trouble contacts that can be used
that panel is a mess! the programming reminds me of working with very old computers say, an 8088. that panel requires a lot of manual work though!

@carlh4279 I wonder if this old fire alarm panel even has a CPU, or if it's all discrete TTL/CMOS logic chips?
Who wired that?! I’m proud to say, “that’s not my work”
I'm glad to see there are people who still take pride in their work, I know I couldn't sleep at night if I performed work at that level.
FireAlarm Tech I hear ya. My work is nowhere near that
I hope to be a tech one day
Do You not have the PC Programmer Module? I still do!

I just came from an est fault on a mapfault3 panel.. so I'm in one of those moods.
Can programming on a 4002 be erased?
