    I just got to the part where Mrs. Sheldrick said about the elephants that "...they are just like us, but they are much better than us." I couldn't agree more to that one simple statement!

    "What makes us think that we're superior to the animal kingsom? after all, we're only animals ourselves and not very successful ones in my opinion. If all the lights went out in the world and couldn't be turned back on, how many of us would be able to survive in the wild? we've stepped out of nature." She is 100% right.

    She's such a wonderful, caring person who's managed to raise these beautiful animals with her dedication. Just a note....that little man stepping up to tell Dame Sheldrick how elephants don't have telepathy, though he knows nothing about it. What a fool. I was so proud of her response and the way she handled it. She's not called a Dame for nothing. Fantastic foundation, incredible lady. May she live a very long life.

    Extraordinary Lady. Superb booklaunch. Young children going to the microphone & asking her questions,with interest. An adult male who challenged Dame Sheldrick's comment about elephants using Telepathy & pointing out it's not magic. Her response was elegant, clarifying that its natural in the elephants and unused(neglected) in the humans. Wonderful! I feel humbled by her authenticity & achievements. We have a wonderful zoo, Reid Park Zoo, in Tucson. Two baby elephants have been born here. Nandi was born 6 years ago and that year over 700 people came to Tucson to see her. Now, in 2020, on April 6, Mabu (the Dad) and Semba (the Mom) had their next baby. Her birth was celebrated here, and over 80 of us adopted her. Our zoo, because of the virus, was not reopened to the public until August 28, 2020. I loved the book, Love, Life and Elephants. Thank you for the work you continue to do with the elephants, and other animals. Our Zoo kept us informed about Mapenzi, and now with the Zoo reopened, we can apply for tickets to go again to visit Reid Park Zoo. It is amazing to watch Penzi growing up. She loves her big sister, Nandi, and follows her everywhere. I am thrilled to be able to keep watch on Penzi and thanks for your continued work with these amazing animals. Marilyn Phillips

    Excellent. Ms.Sheldrick has learnt so much about elephants, and is teaching the rest of us. I knew they were highly intelligent, emotional, and have family bonds, her insights helped me to understand how much elephants have to teach humanity. We must ensure the poaching stops, she stated baning the trade in ivory is key. A ban was placed in 1989 and poaching decreased. Recently Africa opened legal sells of stocked ivory, confiscated from poaching this caused increase in demand for ivory.

    I'm watching this vid on 6/28/20. Unfortunately the trade for ivory still persist to this day😠 And it is still dominated by the Asian community. To the very rude man who embarrassed himself by thinking that he had a handle on how elephants communicate. It was so sad to think that when it comes to animals, sometimes people just need to shut It and give the glory to the folks who took the time to actually educate themselves and pass their knowledge to the world 🌎. 💜 Light and Love ~Yvonne

      db)... You need to read the bible ... It's good to have love and compassion for Gods creatures ... But that's not God will here on earth 🌍... Gods will is for man to come to repentenc and give their heart to His Son Jesus Christ , trun away from sin and follow Him have a personal relationship with Him daily seeking God daily studying His word and living a life of obedience to His word .... Men spend all their life time on worthless things , and give no time for God and when death comes they will not inhert Gods Kindgom .... Because they never came to repentnce and persihed... We all have to give God time in our daily life seek Him so He can draw close to You ... Other wise your just kidding ur self about how Good is about people loving animals with out Having them having nothing to do with God in their every day life ... Because they were to busy taking care of animals and leaving God out of their life's ....... Put God first in your life then He will give u the desires of ur heart come to pass .... As He says in His word ....

      so another words you're saying what this woman and her husband did for these animals was worthless because they in your eyes didn't give all their time to God so what day did for the animals was worthless why does religion even have to come into this I had no bearing on this subject and how do you know that she didn't pray everyday and ask for forgiveness and repent was you there do you know her soul only God knows her soul and believe me this woman has a good soul and she will walk in the Kingdom with God and maybe you should go and repent for your sins about what you are saying and doing instead of thinking about others

    When you don't know how else to explain these things, you go with what you know. And based on her experience, telepathy was all that made sense. There was no other explanation. Whether you believe it or not, these animals demonstrate that they know where to go to get help. I find it pretty amazing.

  • @BlessAllKC
    @BlessAllKC 5 років тому +4

    After 40+ years of nurturing, understanding, learning from & studying the elephants, Dame D Sheldrick said, " Elephants can do telepathy. Many other animals do that as well. We humans used to be able to do it too, but we have lost the ability. "
    I totally agree with her conclusion based on observations & evidences. Recent scientific research conducted on human twins has confirmed that telepathy does occur between them unconsciously.
    Most likely, in ancient times, every human could do telepathy at varying competence levels, along with meditation practice. However, with increasing advances in modern telecommunication tools, there is too much electronic energy interfering with the natural energy communicated ( given out & received ) among the human community. So, humans have given up on developing & relying on that part of their potential. Nowadays, they have completely turned to their telecommunication devices to send & receive messages. What a waste of our God given potential.

    One of the most important terms she uses is “human family’, not just humans. It would’ve been humans who shot the elephant she speaks of at the end with arrows, but the elephant didn’t become afraid of all humans. She returned to the keepers for help, so it’s obvious to me she does see them as family.

    This woman is a living saint on earth, and very well spoken. The only thing I took exception to was the questions at the end...one gentleman came up to the mike to clarify and dis her claim that the elephants shared telepathy!...I laughed because here was some random guy who knows NOTHING about elephants except what he has read, telling the woman who has lived her ENTIRE life in the presence of these magnificent, majestic and I dare say, magical beings, sharing an intimacy only a very few get to share, that her perceptions and KNOWING is wrong!...probably a bit of undigested stew...lol. There is always some yahoo in the audience thinking they know more about it than the expert speaking about it!

    Humans need to realize that all life forms on Earth are unique to this planet only, they cannot be found on other planets ( from what we know today ). Therefore, it is our responsibility to protect & help the wonderful animals to live on.

      @thumbprint7150 6 років тому +4

      Yep, that was interesting. The booing at the man who rejected the idea of telepathy was a bit OTT but I guess he put himself out there. Dame Daphne got her riposte in a bit later: "I don't think telepathy is magic. I think there are some people that also have telepathy and I can promise you that the elephants have it in abundance ad so do the antelopes. The animal kingdom has the powers of telepathy. We've lost it."
      Her understanding of the psychology of elephants, their comparability with humans in terms of their emotional affinities, and her observations on animal telepathy, are such exciting insights. Seeing film of her with her elephants reinforces just what an extraordinary gift she had with animals. How wonderful that so many children attended and asked questions; perhaps they will change the attitudes of future generations towards the animal kingdom.
      The second man - what exactly was his question? Has your mindset evolved? What does that mean??? - had a bit more humility at the end of her explanation to him.

    Dude about the magic thing! Check out the story of the elephants who quietly traveled over a hundred miles to mourn the death of the Lawrence Anthony; the man who saved their lives. They stayed for two days not eating, and then left as quietly as they came. No truck went by announcing his death. It is documented they have a very sophisticated language, much in the form of rumbles traveling underground. Sounds we cannot hear. Their brains are also considerably larger than ours. Capable of things of which we haven't got a clue. What a shame to have such a narrow view of things in which one doesn't understand. I'm sorry for you, that you revealed your small mindedness to so many people. If you're not embarrassed, you should be. :(

    What a remarkable woman. A Jane Goodall for elephants, and more in that she has other animals that she has tried to help and expand their area where they can live safe. The poverty and greed, and now they have lifted the ban against ivory, which has caused this now accelerated decline in elephants. Wish there was a button we could push to rid the world of the greed and heartless who have no respect for life. She has such a uphill battle and we need international laws that protect animals that come from the wild. And it must be enforced as the whales sanctuary is not protected except by Watson who is discredited and been so harassed with law suits that drain the money he has to work to stop the Japanese massive killing of whales for "research". We need more world wide organizations with power to prosecute and lock up these bandits. Those who kill wildlife, like the dentist who killed a famous lion, should be prosecuted and serve jail time and have to donate to restore the wildlife they have damaged by exponential monetary payment.

    If I had to suggest a possible way that the elephants knew the 3 orphans from the nursery were arriving when the keepers did not know I would guess it was through their usual methods of communication. Word of mouth or hearing something from the babies themselves? I don't know exactly how far that communication can be heard by the elephants (but know that it is much further than we hear things) but I know when an elephant is killed sometimes elephants from many, many miles around will gather within hours.

    I have had experiences with dogs I have lived with that can only be explained as telepathy and experiences with animals that seem so far fetched that if anyone else told me, I would think were fantasy. I don't care how clever humans think they are, there are animal senses we will never understand. Nor should we.

    I am glad that the entire Audience BOOED for the stupid question that bold headed man ask from Mrs. Daphne. This man should need to learn MORE about the amazing Elephants how intelligent and how smart they are.
    In South Africa there is a TRUE story till to date you can watch on UA-cam in respect of the kind man who saved the large heard of Elephants, has died suddenly from a Heart Attack, and the wild heard travelled 12 hours to reach his house and kept a Vigil for continuously over 36 hours. They truly have some sort of telepathic knowledge to know what must be happening to their favorite persons or their own kind.
    The wife of the late man say this very same pachyderms are visiting their favorite rescuer's house every year to the exact date her husband passed away.
    So the people should know, Just because you have no brains doesn't mean others are also fools.
