Student mailboxes! You can give them numbers and put graded papers or other class work in the cubbies.

For the corner where you have your rug, behind the mirror and all in that corner you should have draping fairy lights! It would look so cute and be so cozy and calming and add to the wall!(:
Put the cubbies in the back corner between the cabinets and the charging stations. Because you teach writing, they would be great to hold student journals or something of that nature.
If you cannot find the same border for your bulletin board, get some decorative paper fans and place them there to cover the spot. Your classroom is coming along nicely! I cannot wait to see more!
For the shininess on your bulletin boards use Matte clear spray paint on them! Works amazing! I’m also setting up my first classroom this summer. I used it and it worked wonders.
Next to the small desk there was some draws that said Monday, Tuesday….. etc There is a some who has the same one. Same thing with the pictures with the people. There channel is called Bailey. I swear I same something like that in one of her videos.

Welcome to classroom decor, where you NEVER have enough bulletin board paper or border. Here are some tips when you run out of one or the other. 1) Make stripes of different paper to cover the bulletin board. 2) Put one border on the top and bottom and another border on the sides or alternate them. 3) You can also leave the corners with no border and put some large graphics there to cover up the lack of borders. I like to put something seasonal or holiday there so you have a little something new in the classroom every month or so without having to redo the entire bulletin board. You could also put something generic that goes with your classroom theme if you don't want to have to keep changing things. Your principal is right about the file cabinet. It is definitely something you will fill up eventually with your teaching files, student portfolios and drafts (you teach writing, right?) and even binders.
You should get some thin curtains to hang on the walls for the comfy corner and then add fairy lights to make it super comfy and cute

A suggestion would be to Velcro fabric around your big table so that you can put storage underneath that’s not visible. Additionally, I used to use removable wallpaper to decorate cabinet doors, instead of taping it down. That will allow you to take it off as needed♥️ By the way, the cork board strips are mainly used for putting up student work, but you did a nice job with them😁

Why would you include political things into your 4th grade room decorations…?
This is why so many people are choosing to not send their children to public schools.
If my child was in your class and I saw this video, I would be pulling them out ASAP.

I don’t think she is doing anything political. I personally love the idea because she is teaching students to love themselves and take pride of their accomplishments, just like people in history did.
I am just giving you a tip here for the future. Do the stuff that you have to do at work AT WORK, but the stuff like the laminating at your house.

If you take a mini beach ball, and put numbers 1 - 20 on it, when ur class is there, you can pass it around and whatever numbers the kids thumbs land on, they multiply the numbers together, say the answer out loud, then pass it to someone else.

For the cubbies I would have put like supply boxes for your students..
So basically what you’re trying to say for that corner for the people that like restaurant stuff if they have a bad day in stuff, you should call him to calm down corner

I am doing the SAME exact thing with the influential people posters over my classroom library! I suggest putting them on the wall, so that everyone can see the border.
instead of buying expensive fabric you could use a duvet or mattress cover from five below!
one tip to help is try not using black/red/blue markers on your board because it stains a lot even when cleaning it doesn’t give off that new look!

You should use those Cubbies to divide your classes so your homeroom class work don't get mixed up with the other classes and then the rest of the Cubbies could be used for your students or I don't know
For the cubby’s I would put like small school supplies like I have been a teacher and it has worked really well !
Why don't you photocopy the border? There's such a little bit left and then at least it will match. Do it on white cardboard, laminate it and cut it out.

Fabric works very well. I’ve also just used a roller and painted the actual cork board and then framed it with border. It turns out really nice.
You should of put green vines with string lights over them behind your name !!
Think that you should change the cabinets a different color because they don’t look that good with the lights
If you can’t find any more of the border you can take a strip of it and copy it onto cardstock paper and then cut it out.
Get more of that white more do you put on the doors and put polkadots on it and that’s exactly the one that you have on your billboard
I love the little comfort corner we had one at my school when I was in elementary it helps so much and we didn’t even have things like they have today to help people come down even more

Hey! We have those cork strips in our hallways to display student work. We staple boarder on them and then use clothespins to hang papers that way we can swap things out easily and also that means we do not have to keep stapling things to it.
Also, I use the fadeless paper instead of better than paper because I also did not like that the better than paper is shiny. I have used the same paper for 5 years and it still looks brand new.

We have those cork strips in the hallway. They are to hang student work on the wall and you always need one more of any bulletin board material than you think you will need! Another tip you don't need to precut your letters before you laminate them, try it and save yourself a step. You started your room, that's half the battle! Don't over think it and enjoy it!
Agree, should use for student work and stick the posters just to the wall.

Do not give away filing cabinets, you will miss them! Speaking from experience.
For your cubbies, kids could store headphones, lunchboxes and other items that might bulk up their desks. Just a thought…great work! Looks good!

The cubbies could be used to store shoe boxes of labeled supplies as a student go to center? But you definitely just do with it whatever suits your need. If you are not going to use, I'm sure another teacher would be blessed to get it. Thanks for sharing!
Keep the cubbies. Each student can keep their textbooks in a cubby. Those workbooks are usually too big to keep in desks. Not sure if you are departmentalized but the other option is to have your non homeroom kids keep materials in a cubby.

I know I’m behind lol but the bulletin board where you ran out of border I would have altered the border to end where it stopped on the top and crop it a little then that open space I would have put a different colored border and used that space for classroom rules.

I’ve found that brushing a thin layer of modpodge onto your laminated stuff does wonders at taking off the glare. Also doesn’t make your room stink like I’ve heard the sprays do.

i just made them in powerpoint! i just did word art and found a random pattern picture to fill the letters!
I have fabric on the bulletin boards in my classroom. They have been up for 2 years and still looks brand-new. I would highly recommend it.
You should laminate the paper with the letters on it before you cut the letters out! It might make it a bit easier!

for the cubbie thing you could use each square as a pencil case holder (students can add their things maybe a glue stick ect) for each student so it makes more desk space :)

School don’t really closed during the summer. There’s summer school, renovations, cleaning, administrative work and things like that
For your borders I have run into that problem before so I will use it just on two sides like the top and bottom then I'll do a different one like a solid on the sides.
