XOXO
I love the idea of weekly writing to the teacher and you writing back. What a way to build relationships. 💕😍
I love the idea of doing a mental health check in once a week but maybe instead of having them put it on a sticky note and having them put it on the board you can have them put it into a box instead. Like a small box that has a lid on it with a hole on top for them to drop it into. That way it's more discreet. Even though you're having them put their name on the back of the sticky note the other classmates can still see who walks up to the board and see where they put the sticky note even if they don't have their name written on the front of it. Maybe print off little pieces of paper with each option and let the kids write their names on the back of the pieces of paper then drop it off in a suggestion box thing that only you have access to. During down time or while they're working you can read the pieces of the paper and pull the kids to the side that put in they are having a rough time if you feel the need to.
When your students walk into your room they are probably going to be like “this is the most aesthetic, pretty, organized, amazing room and amazing teacher 🤍🤍🤍
I’m a junior in high school and as much as i hate when teachers change my seat when i sit next to friends it’s understandable because i see how it could be distracting when you are trying to teach and students are talking to each other.
I felt the same way during my first week. Like "wow, I did it. I am living my best life."
Congrats!
I don't know if you'd do this but I love the idea of taking their first writing piece of the year and then keeping it and having them write a similar piece at the end of the year to compare
Honestly, as someone working towards the same career these videos make me so excited for whats to come! Please continue to upload! You are also an amazing teacher keep up the great work!
What I find works is to enforce the rules with consequences that were discussed as soon as possible. It does not have to be serious, just to show students that you will address inappropriate behavior and apply your behavior plan as stated. This is a great opportunity to do so while they are still in the honeymoon stage. Love your enthusiasm and creativity!
thank you!!
If you haven't figured out the lights yet I suggest painting them so light still shines through but they aren't as bright!
I love watching longer videos like this one because it feels like you are not rushing to say what you want to say ,love your videos and you seem like such a nice teacher!💕💕
You are so PRETTY✨ I LOVE your outfits!💕 You give me inspiration to be a teacher💕✨
Thank you sooo much for the heart💕✨
Girl...no hurry on a classroom tour video. Heck, you could wait until the last few months of school to post one (PLENTY of teacher tubers do this), and we still wouldn't mind. Take all the time you need to get things together. Your first year teaching is a roller coaster, and there's so much to think through.
thank you!!! i appreciate this so much🤣💛
Starbucks is my go to treat when my throat hurt from talking ALL Day.
Can you share the link for the bulk earings you buy on Amazon please? You have great taste in fashion and you make everything look so cute! I´m so glad you are loving your job. My tip to you is that you stay on top of the small stuff so it doesn´t overwhelm you late.
your vids are so cute & fun!! so interesting to see 💛 good luck on your first year teaching!! ✨
thank you!☺️☺️
Hope your first year is going good! I’m a future educator myself, and i’m surely nervous, but I hope it’s all going well! 💞
Aww love you too girly! 🤩 glad your year is off to a great start! 🤍
thank you💛💛
I love the weekly vlogs. I don't know if you plan on vloging like this all the time but I really enjoy them!!
You are doing it! So happy for you! 😍☺️
Could you do a video on how you set up the student binder? Like what you put in them!
When I taught 4th grade, I taught Science all day and it was so nice because we could to experiments.
I start student teaching in January and am soooo nervous but enjoy watching your videos! I never realized some schools are departmentalized for elem. I would loooove that! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us ☺️
You’re the reason I decided to major in education! I hope to be so invested and excited as you!
Glad I found this, I honestly had no idea how departmentalizing in elementary worked. I'm going to be a 1st year 1st grade math teacher in August.
I love the colors of your room!
Love all ur vids girl!!!!😊
I love it! this is so inspiring
Looks like you had a great week! I love the slide-out bins you have for the tables. Where can I purchase it? The green bins are so pretty!
i was given the shelf! it’s from ikea and i spray painted the bins!
My new favorite elementary teacher vlogger 💜 I’m just wondering what your state has decided to do for Covid regulations! If you have to wear masks or the kids even if you’re vaccinated? I live in Massachusetts where they have made it a requirement to wear them in school!
we don’t have any mask requirements in my district! but a lot of students / teachers are still choosing to wear them.
Nice classroom organization💫💫💫
Hi! I am a early education major and will soon be a teacher as well! I was wondering when applying to schools, how do you know if a school is departmentalized or not? I love the idea of that as it seems as if it would be so less stressful. I’ve also heard of team planning (for example you would only plan math for the week and the other teachers in your grade would give you the rest of the plans for the week) I find this to be interesting as well. I’m sure you could ask in the interview if you get one… but is there a way to find out before you even apply? Thanks for anyone who can help! 🥰💗
i don’t think there’s really a way to know before you apply!! a lot of schools leave it up to the teachers as well, so I didn’t know we would be departmentalized til way after I accepted the job!
What state do you teach in? Just curious! Love your channel ♥️
You have such clear, beautiful skin! You just LOOK super hydrated.
that is SO sweet! thank you!!!
Just the way she talks to the camera you can tell she is a teacher!
For the weekly mental health check-ins, maybe use a box with a slot. I know as a kid I would be much more honest with the teacher if I could leave a private note than to stick something on the board where everyone could see where I put it. Awesome that you're checking in with them!
yes!! i have one of those always readily available for my students. I like to see it up on the board every once in a while and I think it’s good for students to see that their peers struggle sometimes too and that that’s okay!
I loved this video! Just one question! What is your favorite brand of colored pencils to use in your class?
i don’t really have a favorite!!
@@emilyinthemiddle3119 ohh ok! Thank you though! Love your channel! Your students seem so awesome! How many students is your max?
25!
Hey Mrs Wickman!! You were my friends teacher ❤
I have a question! For your library, did you have to purchase every book in it? I plan on going to college soon to become a teacher and I was just curious. :)
no actually most of my books were given to me!!
@@emilyinthemiddle3119 Thanks so much! I appreciate the reply. :)
Link to earnings please!!!!!
My school is gonna use the PBIS app this year! What do you like/dislike about it?
just saw this!! i personally love it!! it’s so cool/easy to be able to scan their badges right away and give them a point. they love it so much and it works super well!!! p
@@emilyinthemiddle3119 Good to know! Our school isn't training us on it until early September, so I'm a little overwhelmed. I've heard good things, though.
what kind of education do you need to be an elementary teacher?
bachelors degree!
Have you told your students about your UA-cam channel?
nooo!!
Have any parents been concerned because you look really young. I'm 23 in my first year of student teaching after being a nurse for years, got burned out from the pandemic and today a parent was like where is the teacher and she thought I was a student. Like nope been out of High school for almost 7 years. Luckily my cooperating teacher was just in the hallway. And I'm teaching HS by the way...
I want to see her class
Ok
Listen love you do not have to explain yourself some children just can’t sit next to each other my teenager was like that all through school they constantly had to move his desk he has ADHD he would distract other students and not get his own work done so I agreed 100% with the teacher and that’s my own kid but I’m a teacher and we have to separate certain people they just don’t work well next to each other and it benefits them in the long run they have all recess and lunch to be silly and to chat!!
Hey techerrrrrrrr
Classroom tour?
it’s coming!
@@emilyinthemiddle3119 ya
I miss you

She said they don’t know :)
Love your videos! But for the future, eating and talking at the same time is the worst! I wanted to listen to what you were saying but I had to skip that part lol
