@@tturi2the machine I’m using is a unimig Viper180 from Supercheap Auto, it’s an awesome machine and still only uses a 10Amp plug so can use it at home, The multi165 is a bit cheaper and currently on sale at SCA too, can do Tig, Mig and stick.
Huge shout out to all Woody’s mates helping him keep this top shelf content coming our way. I’m guessing Mrs Woody is also playing a huge part in it all.
In all seriousness, fellas, don't forget to ring your mates and let them know you thinking of them. That intro actually made me call a mate I hadn't spoken to in nearly 6 months and it was a good catch up.
Spot on brother! We all get so caught up in our daily routines and the rat race. It only takes one minute to check in on a close friend to see how they are, they most likely appreciate much more than you realise.
So impressed with your growth in so many ways since taking over. Buy the boy a pair of boots he HAS to wear when in the shop. Will make feel important and part of the shop.
Props woody, I know you've always been a weapon on the tools but its so good seeing how far you've come (I've been rewatching some of the OG builds this last couple weeks), the student truly has become the master!
Cutting ally on a plasma cutter always produces more slag than mild steel in my experience. Having the water bed close to the back of the work piece also reduces slag. You can also spray anti-splatter welding spray to the back of the sheet. This can help reduce slag.
Not just the slag, but a proper setup water bath catches a bunch of smoke mist that gets everywhere. With the turntable, you know the elecys they can easily slow it down more, you can even put in a dial so you can go whatever you want.
I would make suggestion but fire extinguisher set up in engine bay as a safety thing so thing goes bad you can do it from inside the car so you don't have to get out of car and do it that it would be faster and less damage to the car
@@theskidfactory OMP and Sparco make FiA approved systems used in GT3 cars, they start at like 600€ for an electrical one and a manual one would be around 300.
@@25LQW so good! Service is great and so is the product. RCBOS are so good and well priced. I went to their “trade show” and was impressed with the up and coming products too, they are always asking for feedback and take it on board when you have a suggestion.
Figured I could hold my tongue right and drop it out the bottom without having to touch the steering column! the G45 flange is a smidge smaller than the Raceworks 4" v band clamp!
Instead of using plastic for the plasma cutter curtain if you've got some out of date fire blankets hanging around you could hang them up. Just floating ideas 👌
With your plasma Woody just fiddle with volts & mm/min. Make sure your gas pressures are right, when it's cutting properly the drag lines in your cut should be vertical. Always get a few dags but normally it knocks off pretty easily. Nice work mate 😉👍
You can fix the turntable by going to a 1 million ohm resistance potentiometer from maybe a 10,000 ohm resistance potentiometer that is in the pedal now, This would make finer adjustments to the speed in a sense. If the potentiometer goes into a transistor MOSFET for a gate of the power to the motor you could get a better transistor with lower voltage threshold "break through voltage that activates the gate of the transistor"
Plasma CNC setup tip that I was told and worked for me: Run your plasma at full amps all the time. Control the cut quality with the speed of the CNC. mm/min. Thin material fast speed. Thick material slow speed. Plasma amps stay the same in either case. My settings: plasma 35amps. 1.6mm steel 1000mm/min. 6mm steel 600mm/min. The dross on the back knocks off with a tap of the part on concrete. Also, the water table is mostly for fumes, sparks supression is a side benefit. The fumes are hectic carcinogens - defo get a water table or VERY GOOD ventilation.
Mate so good to see you settling in and continuing TSF. Im not fussed about the live streams but Im loving that you are back to a similar format post Al leaving.
26 size torch would be better for aluminium, they're good for 200A vs 150A for the size 17s. Either way, CK make the best gear around, can go wrong with em
I’m ashamed to say I’m one of the regular viewers that dropped off after Al left. I should have had more faith in you Woody, I’ve just tuned back in and you are doing a fantastic job. You should be proud of yourself. Time to right my wrongs and catch up on all the great content.
Plasma cutting is just like welding u need the correct tip size, travel speed, amps and air pressure to make it clean for the thicknes of metal u are cutting. Also a really good water separator not only on ur compressor outlet but on the back of the plasma cutter as well. Helps heaps
For the plasma cutter, maybe just get a cheap curved curtain rod and mount it to the rack shelf. Put a heavy duty shower curtain on it and Bob's your uncle. Cheap, easy, effective.
I’m frothing on that side pipe too mate. Beautiful work. And worth the extra effort to put it out under the car rather than out the side. Nice work on the pie cuts.
Woody, it might be worth putting a potentiometer on the turn table to allow it down. Your sparky brother could probably assist. It's pretty easy... Might get a bit more use out of it that way.
If you're making big batches of parts on the arc droid and need to remove the slag, you could use a cement mixer with some sand blasting grit in it to stir up the parts and clean them up. I seent it on the tick tocks.
Yo woody something to remember when learning something new is it may take you an hour to learn now but will save you way more in the long run once you know what your doing. Think of it like you spend all your time with a hacksaw because you didn't want to waste time learning to use a grinder.
Great to see progress on Kevo again and really impressive work - he's come a long way and going to look properly smart when done! 😂 On Kevo wanting you inside him 😂 With the downpipe being such a tight squeeze past the steering column etc. will that be getting heat wrapped, or not needed? Workshop is coming along nicely, too.
Furick conversion if the welder allows it. They make ceramics which take a hiding, have been using since they came out. Ditch the pulse and drop the filler wire size and let the argon do the best work it does. Saves having burnt stainless! Love ya work team!
There’s two different CarBuilders TXT I think? Theres one with catalyst/hardener and one without? Have I got that right? I’d confidently say it would be the first UA-cam video featuring it other than the short CarBuilders video on it. I’m keen to use it on my project, so looking forward to see you use it on Kev-o. Great work Woody.

First episode I’ve watched since als disappearance. Definitely a different vibe but it’s a good one.
Thanks for tuning back in mate
Kev and Al, I miss them both. Can't wait to see it go down the strip and I know Al will be in the picture somewhere.
Yep. Would be great to see Al feature in one of the upcoming Kevo build videos.
Keep it up Woody, the amount of people willing to help is an indication of how much we all want to see/be a part of your content. :)

Firesense fire systems for us in Australia. You can get a system for around $6-700.
I’ve got one in the drift car, they are good

Woody's brother here. Most of the gear in the shed is voltex. I love their stuff. The service they provide is the best in the industry.

Make sure you have a process or something for always remembering to tighten the steering column back up after you swap the exhaust over.

Thanks for the positive comment mate! Keep on smiling!
A car build so good it gives you a Woody.

The Shockworks boys are legends, glad to see you got some in a build 👌

Yo, nice idea with the angle iron + punch for strengthening the 90’s. A+ content as usual.
Guess who's back, back again.
Kevo's back, tell a friend.
Stoked to see old mate Kev running again!
Hey woody, I know it’s a cheap turntable but try putting in a POT or potentiometer after the switch. Might be able to alter the speed that way
Good to see Kevo getting some love.
I don't know why but "toob" shit me to tears throughout this video 😂😂😂.
Nice one Woody, looking forward to seeing kevo rip down the track. Appreciate the content!
Side exit looks excellent Woody, definitely agree with you on the look of it. Also the "rust repair" joke got me good haha...
Well done Woody love this episode you've reignited my interest in this Chanel
Welcome back Kevo !!
Hit the like button before Debussy faded out. Love it. Been loving the woodv factory!
Thanks for sharing Woody and wishing all the best to Al. Cheers

Oh and don’t forget to put in the cross for catching the turbo exhaust wheel at the end of the race pipe
Probably the most important thing you said in this video.
Enjoy the Moment!!

Yes👍👍👍 that exhaust is mint... looking mint brother 👌
Awesome vlog. Great to be back to fabrication on 1 project at a time.
Good thing is: if you want to remember what stuff was done to Kevo SOMEBODY did film several episodes on UA-cam... 😁😁🤘🤘

Love the exhaust dude, the effort was worth it 😊
im that guy that says a vr wasnt made in 97
same with me, 97 was the end of the vs/ start of the vt.
I was about to say the same, I'm certainly not Commy expert but my old VS was a '96, alphanumerics not mathing here.
Had a few VR & VS back in day.
VR 93 - 95.
VS 95 - 97.
VS SIII Statesman & Caprice 98 - 99.
VS SIII Utes 98 - 00.
My VS was 95. And it was the best car I've ever had. I could beat on it like a red headed stepchild and it came back for more abuse
So keen ! Cant wait for more Kevo !!!
