Tarikh is a daily Hindi program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons and Incidents. In this edition of Tarikh,Divyanshi Talks about MK Ultra. MK-Ultra was a top-secret program run by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from the 1950s through the 1970s. Its purpose was to research mind control and behaviour modification techniques, with the goal of creating tools that could be used to manipulate individuals and extract information from them.
The program involved a wide range of unethical and illegal activities, including the use of LSD and other psychoactive drugs on unwitting subjects, as well as hypnosis, sensory deprivation, and torture. Some of the experiments conducted under MK-Ultra were highly unethical and resulted in serious harm to individuals who were subjected to them.
The MK-Ultra program officially ended in the 1970s after its existence was publicly exposed, and many of its records were destroyed. However, its legacy continues to be controversial and the subject of conspiracy theories.
