EU4 1.34 Lions of the North is already live for some time and it's a BANGER. Today I decided to give a try to one of 4 impossible achievements in Europa Universalis - East Your Greens.

Fun fact, this is not the only instance of achievements disappearing from the list displayed in the game. The same happens for Unlikely Candidate. I suffered a minor stroke in my Mzab into Tunis into Andalusia game when the achievement disappeared after forming Tunis for colonizing the corridor to the Sahel. Got it non the less!
I think it's the same case for Spanish Fly achievement; it disappeared when I formed Ireland, if I remember correctly, but I got the achievement nonetheless.
Yup, had the same happen for both of these examples while achievement hunting a few years ago. It also reminds me of the Tunisian mission tree... Air Strike. Hehehehe.. Hehe...
worst case scenario if you ever actually dont get an achievement youre supposed to get. Use the Steam Achievement Manager and add it manually.
Yep, that and Offaly had the same issues. But luckily, it worked out and I didn't waste like 50 hrs of gameplay there
It happens with a lot of achievements that allow tag switches.

I think you should use the expand infrastructure button when developing any institution, 50 admin to get -25% dev cost on all clicks above 15 dev is definitely a good trade in terms of power points.
Doesnt change much in this case honestly as amount of spent point would be similar, just maybe 1-2 more dev . But if one wanted to min max everything, then yes, this is true.
But it also cost much more gov cap, which, for bigger nations, hurts in a longer run

Good luck! Your strat is very similar to the one I used when I got this one recently. Though I had to do a few restarts due to Ming deciding that they wanted Tibet.

Honestly of the 4, I think this one may be the toughest. The WC ones are more grueling, but this is a lot to accomplish with the date limit. I don't get why they list 3 Mountains as Impossible, given there are many guides on how to do that, and you can even do a One Tag WC with them. I don't have it because I don't have the patience, but I would think that it should be in VH not I.
I think 3 Mountains suffers from the Byzantium problem. It's an incredibly difficult start if you aren't working with a guide, but there are so many guides out there that all of the hard work has essentially been done for you.
3 Mountains achievement was added in patch 1.1. It used to be much harder, that's why it's listed as impossible.
@@jackhouse1618 eat your greens also used to be harder before the new missions and the posibility to form Siam. With the wording of the achievement you shouldn't be able to tag switch during the run. However it was still doable without tag switch anyway and without delaying age of absolutism.

Three Mountains is actually so impossibly hard now to the point its practically impossible. Countries in debt maintaining tier 4/6 forts + way over their cap for troops(: Like even having all of Indonesia + Japan wasn't enough

Not gonna lie, I don't think that "true faith" is an insane achievment. I got it at the same time as my first wc. (To be fair, mughals are op). If you have a good WC setup and complete it early enough, changing the religion of every province can be done with alot of vassels.
Agree, well it's an old achievement and it was impossible long time ago. I did first mine in 1.21 or so
Yeah, I have one faith and I am at best an average player. It is not really hard currently if you plan it out a bit. You can start as Austria, never fight a difficult war or have a coalition and still get one faith easy.

I like playing Tibetan horde for vajrayana games. 2 missionaries early game because of Lhasa. Third if you get the holy site from jaunpur. Become a horde and go religious and form yuan.

One faith is stupidly easy.
Take Spain. Become Emperor. Make sure the reformation fails. That is also massive amounts of land you do not need to conquer.
Religious ideas. Easy peasy.
They even fixed the issue where colonies would block their capitals with colonists, making it even less annoying.
OH and take vassals. Such as Najad (I think it is them). They can help convert land. Vassal feeding is nice.

Then they should change the wording of the achievement and change it to medium/hard tier instead of impossible.
How could you use game mechanics to do something more efficient! You can only do the ahcievement on VH, no allies no armies marines only, otherwise it doesnt count!

Have you considered becoming Emperor of china for free cores on all of china? I used it in my run to snowball my economy greatly, after using horde razing to get the first 2 institutions.

One Faith actually got fairly easy with the Teutonic horde being a possible path now. I know that's not what the video is about, but I would probabyl move it to the "very hard" category rather than impossible.
Well, it's easy for many years already if yiu know how to play :p
Being able to tag switch for eat your greens instantly reduces the difficulty drastically from impossible to hard (yes skip very hard). Either the wording should change to 'starting as Kale' or you shouldn't be able to get it after tag switch.
Fun fact, my first world conquest is with Ryukyu lul

came back to try this challenge and they changed siam formation requirements to require you to go through 2 disasters, why does paradox hate fun
can u show how to do Grand coalition achivment, and its work on current version?
The way I did this achievement was by forming Siam + taking Mandate. Then just eat all of China as full cores and full stack Malacca as the worlds biggest tradenode before Global trade spawns and giving the tradecenters away to a vasall. Global Trade cant spawn = no age of absolutism = unlimited time for all the provinces that are more annoying to get.
Of the impossible ones, this one is honestly rather easy compared to Three Mountains and True Heir of Timur, where you cant cheese the timelimit like this.
I think it can be easily done without bothering to stop global trade. Also True Heir of Timur is much easier now. Shluld change time limit to 1500 to make it impossible again

I did 3 or 4 OF I think, As Poland, France and Spain, maybe also one as a sunni? I dont remember now
Why not form Lan Xang first for the cheaper cav and +%20 cav ratio? With the horde ideas you will be able to land %100 cav armies.
That would require some further destate and anyway I can easily do it without these bonuses. Keep in mind the ratio malus got nerfed and even with 85%ratio I'll wipe everyone
You will see lan xang into Siam in my mp campaign I recently started uploading ;)
i dont know what they did to the shortcuts but you have to add a new shortcut again in the gamefiles because for some reason they deleted it. paradox in a nutshell. its straight up missing in the gamefiles nowadays

@@ZlewikkTV for example changing the occupation. you could always add it via the add shortcut button but now its missing completely in the files and you need to add it.

the last line is just missing. documents->paradox->eu4->shortcuts. there are a couple that are just missing and you cant use the add shortcut tool if the description of the button/window is missing
Seems like if you become Khalkha then click the "yes, please" you will get horde idea due to the game logic but that is kinda an exploit
you dont get such an event when forming Khalkha
@@ZlewikkTV I mean the event when you form Tibet. If you hold that event (clicking it now gives you Tibetan idea like the game intended), form Khalkha by the mission then click "yes, please", as Khalkha doesn't have unique tag ideas, the game will search for government type idea which is horde.
But you do not get any 'yes please' when forming Khalkha 😅

2. you get the "new ideas and traditions" event (for forming Tibet) but don't click it yet
3. go down the mission tree to become Khalkha
4. now you click "yes, please"

Could this achievement be cheesed with the global trade bug, by preventing global trade from spawning, thus never allowing the age of absolution?
But why would I abuse global trade while I can easily get the achoevement before it like a chad? :p
Zlewikk (or anyone tbh), I need a piece of advice - I used to have detach one stack key on D (useful during carpet sieges), but I had to reinstall EU4 and now it's on ESC (so I cannot close few stacks at once). It's annoying af, how can I change it back to D?
You have to change the config in steam files

Do be exact, it's 4 4 5 and ofc I did nto know as I do not have time for practice runs ;).
The beauty of a horde is that you can have infinite powerpoints even with 0 0 0 ruler so I dont se a reaon to care

Conquer the Malaca Trade node. Make it the most valuable in the world, don't upgrade any trade center to lvl2(or downgrade) to prevent absolutism from spawning. Enjoy infinite time
Why waste time while you can do it pre 1600 easily?

I remember playing a majapahit campaign and my all (5) tributaries allied one of my rivals - either Borneo or Malacca. Game is unplayable when your subjects join on the side of the enemy when you declare a war.
Since 1.32 there's no such thing as a difficult achievement
Actually, a lot of longer achievements got much harder with 1.34, because AI strong nations are expanding really fast now and it takes much longer time to conquer these nations
@@grubygrzib6308 you still have the reduced warscore and AE from 1.32 and it's really easy to stack wipe since they fixed the shit 1.33 combat. Just pick good ideas like admin and diplo and you'll be fine, the game is basically the same. Even if the AI is "better" you should still be able to out scale them.
@@flimpeenflarmpoon1353 I'm not talking about "outscaling" them or defeating them, but about the insane amount of wars you are gonna need to full annex them. For example in my current england game, ottomans have 800% total province war score cost, in 1487, even if you perfectly release and annex all possible vassals from them it's gonna take you atleast six 100% war score wars. If we also consider the fact that they are going to expand like crazy between the truces and that in a first few wars they are gonna have insane amount of troops and forts, I think i can safely say that it would take atleast 200 years to annex them without trucebreaking.
I'm not saying that any achievement is impossible because of that, but the achievements that require a lot of conquest are definitely WAY harder than before 1.32
