First of all, the whole look: skin, hair, outfit is on point!! Secondly, I am so glad you took the time to react and provide further explanation on the whole "luxury" hot topic. I have always sought out silent luxury even if for the mere fact that I don't want to look like a carbon copy of everyone else.
These luxury brands have something for everyone. There are several tiers of clientele that exist in which the major marketing/ads that we see are primarily created for the lowest tier of the clientele base. The lowest tier is the majority of customers which is why it gives the impression the so called “poor” client purchases these brands. Everyone knows about the tambour LV watch at 4-5k and that’s probably the go-to watch for most LV customers but nobody talks about the spin escale LV Watch that can go in the six-figure price tags. These brands have “exclusive” products but due to their high price tags, in most cases we rarely hear or see about them unless the brand decides to create buzz by promoting ads… but what’s the point? The “majority” isn’t going to buy that $50k coat, they want to buy the 3-4K coat. All to say, it’s all relative, just depends on the context and how you position the subject at hand. Love your content by the way.
Loved your commentary and it actually solidified in my mind why I enjoy quiet luxury so much. It's that quality of the absence of vulgarity for me. That epitomizes who I am and how I endeavor to project myself in the world. I also relate to your take on why luxury should ideally permeate all areas of one's life; from leisure to one's home and the experiences one affords themselves. One note on poor people buying more luxury- in addition to this being younger, early-career and entry-level luxury consumers (just out of college etc), we should also look at the pricing tiers of what the lower income shoppers are buying. If luxury is being defined by types of brands vs just price of item, this increase could be a lower income person setting aside money to buy an LV key pouch at a retail of $325 for the basic monogram, for example. This would be a 100% increase in spend on luxury products for this person (perhaps before the most they had done was buy a Chanel or LV fragrance), but isn’t necessarily an example of poor people going wild and buying tons of luxury with stimulus checks. Not saying that this was your take, but just want to make that point.
I always look forward to your videos. Why is there such a derogatory connotation to the word 'poor'? Regardless of how much you make, you are entitled to lavish yourself with your hard earned money.
I agree with you on every point in this video. But to me real true luxury is carrying a very well made high quality bag that nobody carrying! With LV Gucci etc every UA-camr and they momma carry, it has become basic. Class is luxury and thats something that cannot be bought. Anyone can use credit cards on luxury but is it really luxury? Hmm, allow me to say this but I think all the brands target on middle class people not the people who are struggling with financial difficulties. I am not sure if poor people (just like you say) have anyone to impress. When their social groups are not wearing luxury, I don't think they have the need to wear it. I think no one can avoid being seen using luxury. For example, when people drive their Bentley, they are bound to be noticed. I think there's no need to label any brands because sometimes the quality of the items is not reflected on the price. The good quality items are sometimes hidden in European countries carrying the names we have never heard of. Only when corporate buy up the company and start marketing will we know about it. Once they are being marketed, they are not quiet luxury anymore. So quiet luxury is always in the heart of Europeans. They might not even know they are using luxury items. By the way, some designs and items prestige brands produce are not user-friendly so people might not want to buy them but if a product that got a logo on it is user-friendly, why try to avoid it. (There's no need to be sobbish about it)I think some old money might refer to the middle class people as poor people because only poor people need to work or need to have a job. Trying too hard to be old money when we are not is also another way of telling people that we are poor in a sense of having low self-esteem. With or without logos, just buy what suits your lifestyle and your needs. When it comes to luxury, we only have ourselves to answer to.

But sometimes those brands don't have online shops so only when you travel, you are able to buy it. And some of those brands also take order from big corporate run brands to produce items for them. So they're the supply chains for them. The corporate world got strong hold of the brands and the hidden brands don't produce certain items throughout all the seasons. For example, for this season, they have ballet flats and the next, they offer you loafers. So when you want the ballet flats, you have to turn to other brands. And even some of them have online store, those styles they put up for sale at online store look very ugly. You might wonder why, I feel that it's the corporate world working beind to make sure the good stuff are hidden so when consumers don't know about the goodies, they turn to corporate run brands.
@kristencostello2416 there is a paradox here, because if a small brand is too successful, it will come to the attention of the bigger brands. Quite often the creators will sell (if the price is good enough) and then go on to create another small brand!
I only started going full blast on luxury handbags last year buying LV, Gucci, YSL etc. Although I've always been one to buy for my taste, not the fad, not the trendy bag, I do admit that these certain brands drew me in due to their recognisable branding. I have quickly grown tired of what these overhyped brands put out. I do find some still nice and not closing myself to buying from them in the future, but I've started appreciating quiet/quieter luxury brands more - BOYY, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, even Valextra (soon-to-be purchase). I find that I drift towards timeless silhouettes, quality, and colour more than just leather pieces plastered with logos.
I like “full blast”. I think balance is important and it sounds like you are actively mindful of it. I like BOYY - fab brand! I have quite a few under the radar brands I’ll be talking about in the coming weeks. Some are so under the radar they don’t even have any social media presence! I sometimes wonder if this is the reason some brands like LV and Chanel have received feedback on their decline in quality - the demand is far outweighing supply and they can't churn out products as fast.

I think it’s only expected (and good) once people in the once “poorly performing” economies will start to shop once they have access to money and it’s typically the brands that have the most hype to begin with. Brands will never increase supply to meet demand that’s how they keep up the appeal of the brand. But they may cut corners and use poorer quality materials of craftsmanship as they know people will always buy - I think.
Another amazing brand that I just recently found out about is Time Resistance. Their leather seems immaculate, it’s made in Italy and all of their pieces are classics. Their designs aren’t flashy or tacky and they remind me a lot of old Mulberry leather goods. Their prices are reasonable, and I love the whole story of the brand and what they want to tell to the world. Honestly, I highly recommend anyone looking into this brand. Another great video, well said! 😉 Luxury isn’t just brand names, it’s about style and class. Poor people can have class and rich people can certainly be very trashy. Just saying!!

As we experience inflation luxury is not in demand but rather survival. Where will true luxury go if the poor is now in the running?

Money DOES NOT make you happy. Money allows you the freedom to live more comfortably and allows you to be financially secure but it does not guarantee happiness. I have to mentally prepare myself when I’m obligated to spend time with my husband side of the family because they have money yet still aren’t that happy.
Lol that’s a tricky one. I always say money definitely makes you happy unless you don’t know how to spend it! But you are right it gives you choices and you can go for the choice that makes you happiest.

That's correct, regarding the phasing out of funds. It's humbling to not receive a check while others depended on it for rent, food, utilities. Those checks weren't given monthly yet these are monthly expenditures.
