I really don't remember that incarnation of the then new ITN News music, but, I'm so glad it wasn't like this for long.
How long until they updated it to the familiar 1982-87 version?

Theres a clip from 19th June 1982 showing ITN News still using Non Stop, so this was the first day of the new theme being used. I agree with you that it doesn't hold the same authority as the more familiar version of the theme.
