Ah yes, ZUN's most romantic sounding song. And the song pretty much everybody is obsessed with, especially if they're big fans of TD. Or if they're big fans of Akatsuki Records I guess lol TD in general had a lot of songs that sounded like love songs. Besides the focus on the beats & shit, this is another big thing that really separates TD's ost from the rest of the series. And it's great because it really fits TD's theme; since "desire" is a big part of love, even if you take away sex stuff from it and just leave the pure stuff in. "Desire" that comes from sexual interest and "desire" that comes from being in love are very different & separate things from one another, but they're both still "desire" in the end. The meta interpretation for why TD had the ost it did, is that it's because ZUN composed these songs with this feel & style because he made TD around the time he got married. He was probably really in love at the time, and consequently was likely listening to a lot of love songs at the time, leading to this very unique style & feel for the ost of TD. That's just a theory though; I don't know ZUN, and it's bad practice to take interpretations of the author via analysis of their work too seriously. It's an interesting thought tho. Desire Drive itself has always felt very romantic to me. The "fast" melody always had this feeling of a fast beating heart; like when you're with someone you're in love with and you feel that kind of fluttering, excited beating in your chest. Meanwhile the "slow" melody on the other hand reminded me of a lot of typical melodies from typical love songs, except in Desire Drive that type of melody is used in a Touhoufied way.
What i really enjoy about your covers is something i'd call the artists spark. You do not only prove great craftsmanship by playing the piano, but also, everything you cover is it's own thing because you give it a unique soul. That's amazing.
