I think I would like a remaster like Tomb Raider being done for the PS1 Disney movie based games. Toy Story 2, Tarzan and A Bug's Life would be great with new 3d models and largely improved rendering distance. I miss that kind of "collect all X thing in a level" games.
I can't imagine a more difficult remaster than the original Tomb Raider series. So many people know these games intricately, even the slightest tweak could have evoked immense animosity. My personal gripe is that the brutality + intensity has been somewhat wiped away for fresh textures. The Aspire team have certainly done a good job, but you just can't beat the original authenticity. The original graphics were also beautiful. A wonderful video Nick.
Now I’d love a remaster of Last Revelations and Chronicles, then a total remake of Angel of Darkness. I know some people don’t like it but AoD is my favorite even though it’s literally an unfinished broken game lol, I’d love to see it fully realized.
Got what you asked for. I was desperate for an angel of darkness remaster. I'm buying it on the switch, I love the idea of the games being portable. February can't come soon enough😂
It looks like the "braid" is actually just rotating. Because the "balls" are not spherical, the cross section of the plane of view is expanding and shrinking. I put braid in quotes because it does not appear to be a braid, but actually a highly detailed depiction of her hair being held together in bunches with a series of very dark colored hair bands.
That's exactly right. My initial thought was that it was breathing so thats how i described it, but in reality, yes - its rotating Still something I feel could be addressed, though it may be an issue with how the engine works
@amy-295 I'm from Argentina, so I got the game really cheap. Before the changes in usd , also in pre sale, lol, so it was worth it. Now it is really expensive, so I was lucky, I guess 😅
24:35 One clarification: The flare hotkey is still inventory+R1, like it always was. For some reason it just isn't listed anywhere. (Then again, the originals never told you about it either)
Well geez. If Aspyr decides to go full 'we are challenging Nightdive on remasters', a lot of us older games will probably be eating pretty good. In general, more faithful remasters are a godsend.
I played TR1 on the original PlayStation and all this time I never knew the lost valley where you meet the T-rex (yes I know there is another T-rex at the bottom of the big drop where you zipline down) was supposed to be outside, I always thought it took place in a massive cave but often wondered how a dinosaur got there.
Noobass programmers didn't know what a skybox was lol. It actually gives me comfort that a lot of makers of childhood games were absolute amateurs. Feels like I can make a skyboxless game too!
In different video I said it will look terrible. I take it back, I´m really suprised how well and polished the remake is! Tomb Raider recieved the love it deserves and I approve!
Switching between original and modern graphics is like looking at the person from the club you sleep with Versus looking at the person from the club you wake up with.
I don't seem to get it, perhaps because I never entered a club. You picked an ugly person but it was too dark or you were too drunk to realize? Or you picked a beautiful one, but when waking up with a hangover, that person seems less attractive?
Does anyone else find old games like this more immersive than new games with better graphics? Like walking around Lara's house it feels like a real place or something. I dunno how to explain it.
My theory is that it is because older games had less "hand holding". (Elden Ring captured this feel as well, for me) They would just plop you somewhere and the player had to figure out what to do, where to go. This created a much more immersive feel. Even with worse graphics, it didn't matter: immersion ultimately is created by the focus, attention, imagination, and willful belief of the player.
When something lacks significant detail, our brains will fill in what's missing. When something is overly detailed trying to be "realistic" our brain notices all of the tiny things missing from it being 'truly' real, causing it to feel fake. This is similar to the uncanny valley, and may be what you're experiencing.
great video, those flaws you pointed with the new lighting are some stuff that i didn't think about. but Aspyr has been pretty great with feedback ever since the first trailer, they will probably patch it soon. also the floating islands looks sooooo gorgeous. i'm so excited to check how the expansions look, no one has posted footage from those levels yet 👀
I really appreciate how the enemies' revamped versions are faithful to the original art direction. They could've made them more realistic, but they knew better.
I was just thinking: “Hm, I wonder when the Direct Comparison video on Tomb Raider is gonna release?”. And then the notification popped up. Anyways, great video, as always!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Each and every single little detail showcased with the classic and remastered look just makes us appreciate both versions even more. A true nod to the nostalgic originals. They put so much love into the remasters, you can tell. It’s a love letter to the longtime fans. Truly appreciate this. Can’t get enough of direct comparison videos!
The fact you don't have over 1m subs yet is mind boggling to me your videos are always insightful, in depth and well researched thank you Nick 🙌🏼 also i miss the docu series 😮💨
I am so excited to play! I played the original TR as a child and never stopped. Pre ordering every addition to the franchise, staying with the series news and updates, even the gossip. I was lit to find out this remastered collection was being released. To be honest, I was a bit concerned they would change too much of what made this game series so magical. I'm so pleased to see they kept true to the original!! The style and gameplay are so beautifully, unique that it's an unforgettable game! I, of course have played and own all of the franchise ever released, thus far. However, my favorite is the original as it set me on a decades long journey with TR that has brought me so much fun and entertainment. They did this remarkable fantastic game justice! Well done!!
fun fact: the game designer of this remaster was one of the authors of the russian gaming channel. he made a lot of videos about the history of the tomb raider series. he also worked on achievements for this remaster. according to him, the original sources of the fmvs were lost forever. and the development team was assembled by the creator of openlara as i understand
The most frustrating thing about remasters is that a number of sunny levels are too dark now. That kills the initial atmosphere and the cozy mood of these levels.
Yeah, the lighting is a mixed bag and I will be changing between the classic and remastered for this reason. Having only played TR3 on ps1, the London levels were unplayable due to the darkness. I see they've made the stages a lot brighter in the remastered version. Other than that, I will stick with the classic stages.
@@AutoAndChill Yeah, I already own the original version but i'm finding myself switching over just to see where i'm going....kinda pointless paying for a remaster and playing the original because the lighting sucks
I wish more game companies showed this kind of effort with remasters. these games were meticulously updated while still retaining that original Playstation look and feel. everything is perfectly balanced. we need more stuff like this 🙂
Tomb Raider 1 is already 27+ years ago. I was in high school back then. Man I'm getting old 😅 I sure hope they make and bring out a new Tomb Raider game sometime soon!
I know the feeling - it's hard to acknowledge we are now "27 years older" - but let's be real, it feels more like 270 years ago 😂 it feels like I was alive during the middle ages of gaming lol
I totally agree with you to all points! They need to fix bugs like lighting (more darker in certain areas like the original), the look of the water that looks almost static and this stupid head movements of the characters during speaking. I'm 42 years old and as big fan of these games I wait the developers to fix all this.. I have not bought yet, but it's an easy buy for me.. Congrats for another great comparison video! You're the best 👍
Hey cool! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love exploring remasters/remakes in detail along with going in-depth on series with documentaries. I have a "Prince of Persia" documentary coming next month featuring its creator, Jordan Mechner too! :)
I really wish we would have gotten a remake of RE2 and RE3 like we did with RE1 back in 2002. The recent RE remakes are good and look amazing, but they cut out way too much content from the originals for my liking. They just feel like an incomplete experience compared to the originals.
@@crazyinsanepenguin THANK YOU. I truly wish they never "remake" RE1. RE1R and RE0 are my favorite RE games because they have the perfect look to them. What I would give for a RE2R and RE3R like RE1R...
I always wanted to play the game when i was a kid and i couldn't excep for a few parts at my friends house, i'm playing it right now, and i'm loving it
I wasn't expecting nothing of these remasters but man now i'm hyped! They nailed it, specially by including the original games. I want this collection physical, this is a treasure. No maps, no GPS, no tutorial, no help in puzzles, tank controls and no checkpoints. The original Tomb Raiders are brutal! I wanna see the new players generation running to UA-cam to try and beat the games or giving up without even trying 😂 I still don't know how i was able to beat the 5 og titles back in the day in the original PlayStation. TR 2 and 4 are my favorites.
Same here. I was disappointed when I heard this was coming out, but without 4. I played through that one so many times, just something about it I enjoyed so much. The story and sense of immersion was just the best.
The issue with the newer games is that they took that Uncharted route which honestly hurt the game pretty bad. We went from Yeti's and Dinos to typical humans. Not the same imo
Tr2 started the trend of "typical humans" But Legend was the worst with it. 2 jaguars in the entire game... the rest of the enemies are lame powerranger looking humans The series was never the same after that
Crystal took out the Tomb Raider and just left the name on their games since 2013. Legend, Anniversary and Underworld were ok except the constant focus on Laras parents and sometimes being far too emotional.
@Nick930 you are correct. This is why TR1 is the best. When I replayed them a few years ago, constantly killing the same NPC guy really took the fun out of it.
Some effects from the originals seem to be missing in classic mode, like the fake reflections in those rolling blades in The Great Wall or the caustics in 40 Fathoms, both in TRII. Weird.
The classic mode seems to be mostly trying to emulate the original PC software renderer. Some of those graphical details were only visible with hardware acceleration on the PC.
And the warping effect when looking in / out of the water. Of course along with the 30 FPS cap (though maybe that's technical and the remastered visuals are using a wrapper to go higher). I was kind of hoping these could be a definitive way to play the originals with classic visuals, but it seems we might be better off using fan made fixes where you can customise these visual options. Of course I'm going to play these remasters for the remastered visuals anyway, but it would have been nice if the classic visuals got more love.
It's really great to see a remaster that pays a lot of respect to the source material, and aside from a few issues which you point out I am extremely impressed with how well the remaster stays true to the artistic vision of the originals. Lara's model might be slightly cartoony but it was immediately recognisable. For me, the most impressive aspect is what they managed to achieve while being so constrained by the original level geometry; as you highlight and anyone familiar will be aware, it's integral to the gameplay.
I absolutely love it the fact you can switch from the original graphics to modern graphics absolutely unbelievable definitely a bit glitchy with the original graphics maybe a patch update can fix that
this is the way all remasters should be done. true to the original source material and brought up in fidelity. classy work from the remaster team here.
Oh my this is like dream come true to me. i was 6 years old when got tomb raider 1 and that game is telling a lot of my childhood and life. the first tomb raider just is pure different fighting animals like it should be instead of killing soldiers. Real survival horror like it should be
"caused the HUD elements to shrink" 5:30 uh yeah, I couldn't even see it on my screen until I squinted super hard and went "OH! THERE it is!" 18:00 I honestly always thought as a kid that the T-rex room in Tomb Raider 1 was just a gargantuan cavern that had some ancient dinosaurs and stuff, since the sky was "black", I thought it meant there was no sky and it was underground. Kind of funny it was always meant to be a valley with a sky but the PSX couldn't do it. I had a tape recorder as a kid and I loved recording the music that Tomb Raider PSX played. The intro main menu music theme was amazing and still is.
Yup same here. Always thought it was some weird underground cavern with lost dinosaurs. Knowing there's lots of plant life there... it makes more sense that it was always intended to take place outdoors.
my guess would be, they chose 1-3 because those will be considered canon going forward, and the next Tomb Raider game will be a direct sequel, or at least part of the original canon
@@carbagehealth they included the expansion packs for 1-3 so might as well do chronicles since it’s a glorified expansion pack. I always enjoyed it as a kid. Much more than AoD.
Idk, AOD seems to be a lost cause. The game was already like 40% of the levels the had planned, they had to cut most of the locations & stuff. But would be nice to get TR4 and TR5... And maybe an updated level editor... That way you could make your own AoD lol
I love your technical breakdown of the changes in this! I never understood what exactly was the technique of things like the looping fire sprites or top of the water in the original Tomb Raiders, so I really appreciate your clarification of how these were done.
Best comparison video without a doubt! Thanks. I dropped some not so subtle hints to the wife, hopefully find it under the Christmas tree this year lol. I played the original 3 when they came out and beat them without guides. Still my most celebrated gaming achievement! TR is super nostalgic for me for a few reasons, chief of which is that i played them a lot with my cousin who sadly passed in 06 in his 20's. I wish he could have played these, they look fantastic and a great example of how a remaster should be done.
I played the first Tomb Raider from start to finish on my first ever Pentium equivalent PC back in 1998 or 99. I still think now what I thought of it at the time - it's a staggeringly good game. Even looking at the original version now it's still amazing, but back then it was absolutely ground breaking. These remasters have brought the graphics much more up to date, while still keeping the original's charm. Good job Aspyr.
The cool thing with a flick of a button in realtime to switch between both graphic modes was impressive, and it has a camera mode to take photos with, even selecting outfit and weapons and poses. lol
They should have givin the option for ps1 compressed sounds or uncompressed pc sounds. With the acception being only tr 3 is kinda unfair for 1 and 2. That being said, I'm really happy with what they did. It's nice to see some gane studio are still passionate about their projects
The snowy rocks at 15:35 were considered so realistic in the 90s that gamers would literally run out their homes for fear of a landslide. Hard to imagine for modern audiences but that's how it was back then!
Yup i am getting this on Monday. Looks like they updated enough but not too much where it doesnt feel like the original. Good move! Besides having the option to play the original is also good. The Red Alert 1 method of remaster. Looks great!

In the Nevada desert level, the original skybox features the Monument Valley with the memorable buttes, but the in the new version there is a totally different looking cliff which is sad. Though the monument valley is actually in Arizona, so its ok.
I'm still watching the video but wanted to make this comment. I barely watch youtube videos without fast forwarding but this video is just amazing. Perfect explanation, so much clarity. Thank you for your efforts. Perfectly enough to explain everything about the TR Remaster.
My Game of the year! I spend over 300 hours in this game :) It was so fun to see the effort of the developers and i cant wait for remasters of TR 4-6 next year 👍 Super cool video ❤
i dont like the removal of her hair braids. that seemed unnecessary, not a fan of how her new hair looks at all. her hairstyle in tomb raider 1 is also completely missing too. but everything else looks pretty good. awesome video!
This remaster isn't 100% perfect but it's a step in the right direction. It feels like a lot of heart and passion was put in these games and made by team of developers who wanted to keep the respected original art depiction of game while doing creative tricks to bring new modern improvements to the game. It's been a few years since I've left gaming but I'll definitely try out this one. Also, highly appreciate how much effort and research has been undergone in this video. Amazing content as always :)
Agreed. My guess is the artists basically just went through an array of every texture in all 3 games and updated them. But didnt bother manually adjusting them within the environment itself. Basically just plug & play textures
I had a nerdy neighbor who dumped a bunch of game CDs in the trash each month. One of them was Tomb Raider. I played it with my sister as a 10-year-old and we were so scared. At the dinosaur arena, I got stuck and couldn't move forward in the game. I was so desperate I went along all the walls clicking, trying to find some hidden items. We had no options for figuring out how to solve this since we didn't have internet.
As someone who never had the chance to enjoy TR2(never found it at the stores as a kid) and never finished TR3(my PS1 broke),it’s going to be amazing to play these now!
Oh my god this might dethrone Nightdive with regards to the insane levels of respect for the source material, and talent and artistry with which the remaster is crafted, and especially the lack of "adapted for the modern audiences" activism mind virus. Who are these devs? WHO ARE THESE HEROES?

Haha. There was one room I remember I hated and still don’t know how I passed it. It was columns with flames on it and then a switch you had to flip. I eventually had Lara on fire and flipped backwards to land in the water barely with any life left. Can’t wait to have daughter try that one!!

Did you know that Sekiro was supposed to be some sort of reboot of tenchu franchise? The Sekiro origin story is identical to Rikimaru's
I think I would like a remaster like Tomb Raider being done for the PS1 Disney movie based games. Toy Story 2, Tarzan and A Bug's Life would be great with new 3d models and largely improved rendering distance. I miss that kind of "collect all X thing in a level" games.
I did know that, also FromSoftware developed Tenchu Z in 2006@@totifoqs
Tenchu is my go to joint right there ❤️ love dat game also 🥷🏾 🎮🙋🏾♂️
The Legacy of Kain series would be awesome too
The fact that this DC video has more production value and longer than other DCs just to show how big and dedicated of a TR fan Nick is.
Tomb Raider deserved to be the longest comparison video on this channel :)
He did A+ job. And his interest in originals and love of his work shows.
I love how, during the environment showcase at 19:50, you synchronised the cuts to the music. :D Great video like always
what's the track name? is it from the tomb raider series?
@@pastelfromgreece9603 All tracks in the video are from classic TR
I can't imagine a more difficult remaster than the original Tomb Raider series. So many people know these games intricately, even the slightest tweak could have evoked immense animosity. My personal gripe is that the brutality + intensity has been somewhat wiped away for fresh textures. The Aspire team have certainly done a good job, but you just can't beat the original authenticity. The original graphics were also beautiful.
A wonderful video Nick.
The Atlantis levels r very ugly tho in the original. The remastered version of those level I actually very much enjoy exploring
Now I’d love a remaster of Last Revelations and Chronicles, then a total remake of Angel of Darkness. I know some people don’t like it but AoD is my favorite even though it’s literally an unfinished broken game lol, I’d love to see it fully realized.
Yep, AOD would benefit most from it.
I'm happy I'm not alone with it being my favorite.
Did you guys see the new trailer? We are so back
Got what you asked for.
My initial thought was that it was breathing so thats how i described it, but in reality, yes - its rotating
Still something I feel could be addressed, though it may be an issue with how the engine works
I'm so excited to try the remaster!!
Same here!! 🙂
Yeah gotta buy 3 games for $15 are worth it
@amy-295 I'm from Argentina, so I got the game really cheap.
I thought it was a night sky like in the nes Super Mario Bros
In different video I said it will look terrible. I take it back, I´m really suprised how well and polished the remake is! Tomb Raider recieved the love it deserves and I approve!
Switching between original and modern graphics is like looking at the person from the club you sleep with Versus looking at the person from the club you wake up with.
Underrated comment 😂😂😂
I don't seem to get it, perhaps because I never entered a club. You picked an ugly person but it was too dark or you were too drunk to realize? Or you picked a beautiful one, but when waking up with a hangover, that person seems less attractive?
Does anyone else find old games like this more immersive than new games with better graphics? Like walking around Lara's house it feels like a real place or something. I dunno how to explain it.
Yes me 🥺 I play mostly older games now. I can't really enjoy the new ones for some reason 😢
My theory is that it is because older games had less "hand holding". (Elden Ring captured this feel as well, for me)
They would just plop you somewhere and the player had to figure out what to do, where to go. This created a much more immersive feel. Even with worse graphics, it didn't matter: immersion ultimately is created by the focus, attention, imagination, and willful belief of the player.
There's alot of reasons ppl play older games, they weren't filled with woke garbage either
Older games leave a lot to your interpretation and symbolism with your personal real life. That is something new games are incapable of doing
Agree.
The way you presented all this information was fantastic, excellent job!

Due to this channel, I ended up buying this asap. I missed out one the best collectors edition. I played TR growing up as a child.
@@xenondoro8573yeah im the same, im playing with old graphics and switching where need, so cool it has the option to play with old graphics!
Well they did include classic mode, to be fair
Да-да-да! В темные уровни не хочется играть
I was in my momma's belly. I can't believe how long it's been
I know the feeling - it's hard to acknowledge we are now "27 years older" - but let's be real, it feels more like 270 years ago 😂 it feels like I was alive during the middle ages of gaming lol
The 12+ other Tomb Raider titles (apart from the first 3) not to your liking?
@@AAFREAK Ofcourse! I played them all (some even twice) except Angel of Darkness...
Hopefully not a shoot em up
Mate, the ponytail rotates with the breathing!
And looks bad because of it. Either way, the ponytail shouldnt be moving like that. Was the first thing i noticed when i booted it up
I totally agree with you to all points!
My biggest hope is that Atlas continues to polish what they've put out so that all of the larger gripes can be addressed positively
Although I have never finished TR1 and 2, I have llayed the hell out of them. It's a no brainer for me. I will enjoy them for sure.
this analysis was fantastically executed. Great job Nick!
I’ve not watched your channel mate. Wow, what a brilliant video. Really well done, new sub
Hey cool! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love exploring remasters/remakes in detail along with going in-depth on series with documentaries.
I have a "Prince of Persia" documentary coming next month featuring its creator, Jordan Mechner too! :)
Thank you for your work on this video. Really a trip down memory lane.
Now, this is how I want a Max Payne 1 & 2 remaster to be done.
I saw someone mention a Resident Evil 1-3 Remaster like this, that would be awesome.
Just thinking that myself. Also, a Medal of Honor trilogy would look amazing in this style too!
@@crazyinsanepenguin DEmake 3 and 4 are the furthest thing from "good".
I wanna see the new players generation running to UA-cam to try and beat the games or giving up without even trying 😂
I still don't know how i was able to beat the 5 og titles back in the day in the original PlayStation. TR 2 and 4 are my favorites.
This was the most fun I've had watching a UA-cam video in a while! I'm not sure what it is about your videos, but they are all so engaging!
this looks fantastic! remastered lara looks exactly like the box art Lara back in the days.
I've been waiting for this for 20 years,no exaggeration
I wish they've included TR4. It's a great game, my most favorite among the classics
Same here. I was disappointed when I heard this was coming out, but without 4. I played through that one so many times, just something about it I enjoyed so much. The story and sense of immersion was just the best.
Amazing dedication to give us a video like this, love this channel, the narration and editing is always 🔥
The issue with the newer games is that they took that Uncharted route which honestly hurt the game pretty bad. We went from Yeti's and Dinos to typical humans. Not the same imo
Tr2 started the trend of "typical humans"
But Legend was the worst with it. 2 jaguars in the entire game... the rest of the enemies are lame powerranger looking humans
The series was never the same after that
Crystal took out the Tomb Raider and just left the name on their games since 2013. Legend, Anniversary and Underworld were ok except the constant focus on Laras parents and sometimes being far too emotional.
@Nick930 you are correct. This is why TR1 is the best. When I replayed them a few years ago, constantly killing the same NPC guy really took the fun out of it.
Ive been asking for this for years. Abd i knew a direct comparison would come with it! Thank you for the video!
William? :) Can you buy me the game please? 🥺🙏
Some effects from the originals seem to be missing in classic mode, like the fake reflections in those rolling blades in The Great Wall or the caustics in 40 Fathoms, both in TRII.
Weird.
I also noticed the lightrays in tr3 are missing in classic mode
Yes!! I was waiting for this.
Oh my this is like dream come true to me. i was 6 years old when got tomb raider 1 and that game is telling a lot of my childhood and life. the first tomb raider just is pure different fighting animals like it should be instead of killing soldiers. Real survival horror like it should be
It would be cool if there was a feature to have the classic lara model while having the remastered environment but overall it looks great!
"caused the HUD elements to shrink" 5:30 uh yeah, I couldn't even see it on my screen until I squinted super hard and went "OH! THERE it is!"
18:00 I honestly always thought as a kid that the T-rex room in Tomb Raider 1 was just a gargantuan cavern that had some ancient dinosaurs and stuff, since the sky was "black", I thought it meant there was no sky and it was underground.
Hope we get an update or a second game with The Last Revelation and Chronicles!
And a fixed version of angel of darkness!
Ugh dont make us suffer through AoD again. I can't take the heartbreak a 2nd time
my guess would be, they chose 1-3 because those will be considered canon going forward, and the next Tomb Raider game will be a direct sequel, or at least part of the original canon
@@jwallace6913 Personally, I'd guess it's that if they did 4 then they'd also have to do 5 and I think they weren't in the mood to even acknowledge 5
@@carbagehealth they included the expansion packs for 1-3 so might as well do chronicles since it’s a glorified expansion pack. I always enjoyed it as a kid. Much more than AoD.
I know these three games like the back of my hand, spending hundreds of hours with them as a kid, and I'm blown away by how great these look!
i think if this remastered sells well they will do next 3 game remaster too. TR 4 5 and AOD
Aren't those the 3 games that people don't like? They'd probably be better off just doing a Legends, Anniversary and Underworld trilogy port.

Most of these bugs were fixed if your wondering!
This remaster really worth a try!

Im just glad that with the current climate of things, they elected to keep her body measurments as they were.
If anything, her boobs are even bigger than before. FMV lara was crazy lol
@Nick930 fine by me lol 😅 big fan of your channel Nick, wishing you well.
Nice content dude. I didnt know this remaster was that good. Im a huge fan of TR series. They did an awesome job.
Another great addition. Certain environment textures also seem to have some normal/roughness mapping applied to them.

Thats interesting i didnt know the reference CORE used for that.
I'm still watching the video but wanted to make this comment. I barely watch youtube videos without fast forwarding but this video is just amazing. Perfect explanation, so much clarity. Thank you for your efforts. Perfectly enough to explain everything about the TR Remaster.
They did better than Rockstar with the gta trilogy
To be honest here, you can't do it any worse, even if you try ...
it's hard to believe the original came out 28 years ago. Scenes like at 13:54 are way ahead of its time

i dont like the removal of her hair braids. that seemed unnecessary, not a fan of how her new hair looks at all. her hairstyle in tomb raider 1 is also completely missing too. but everything else looks pretty good. awesome video!
Amazing content as always :)

i hope this one gets praise because it deserves it for once in this industry
As a 3D artist I must say that's just lazy work 14:49

This is what the GTA trilogy should have looked like
I oddly liked how they made the GTA trilogy and I did not have any issues with the game and its bugs.

Now we know the team lead behind TR Remastered is actually the modder who did OpenLara. And it shows.
Oh my god this might dethrone Nightdive with regards to the insane levels of respect for the source material, and talent and artistry with which the remaster is crafted, and especially the lack of "adapted for the modern audiences" activism mind virus. Who are these devs? WHO ARE THESE HEROES?

24:32 There actually is a flare hotkey and weapon shortcuts. On consoles, hold inventory button and press walk button for flares. Or hold inventory and press face buttons or triggers for different weapons.
Classic graphics locked to 30fps is absolutely unacceptable in this day and age.
It's because of lara's base animation being made to run at exactly 30 fps
It will look really weird if it was 60 at such basic graphics and design.
it is the classic and old version for a reason
I want 30fps. It is unacceptable that I can't set that in the remastered mode!
