Thank you for your kind words and welcome to the world of fishing. It's a very addictive sport and you will certainly spend more and more money as u continue. This rod and reel is still being used today and I am happy with it. With this price, you can explore other fishing lures and tackle! I had a friend once jumped into the sport buying the most expensive stuff only to quit a year later. Not the best use of his finance but I am sure he enjoyed his fishing experience. Any how, the kreh's loop is a great way to make ur lure swing if it would benefit from it. Hope you will catch some awesome fishes this season!
Great video/review, I'm a big fan of KastKing reels so it's interesting to see your take on the rod. I recently picked up a Perigee II and it's been doing OK for me.
thx bobby! I feel that the rod isn't too bad for a budget 2 piece rod that I will only use on certain occasions. I know the Perigee II been doing good for many folks. likely a higher end than the Centron if I were to base it solely on the price point; however, I never actually have used their Perigee II. Leo Sheng on the other hand had it with him. I held it and it felt like it would be a great rod.
Nice catches on the new combo Jimmy! You are so right about the placement of the hook keeper. My Defy Black rod has it on top and it is so annoying when line gets caught in it!
The carrot stix were a lot more worst lol. I wanna cut them off!
Nice combo brother. That spot looks awesome with the lilly pads....perfect summer bass spot! Sometimes when I can't see my line like if the sun is in my face then I will put my index finger on the line right by the bail that way I feel even the smallest strike and can set the hook!

Thanks for the review. I just ordered one of the 7.5" medium/heavy 4000 reel. I need a budget rod and reel for shore and pier fishing. This should fit the bill pretty well.
Thx for watching! hmmI am not sure if it's salt rated, but the Sharky 3 Combo is actually rated for salt. Make sure you rinse that reel good when you are done!
@@rawrfishing The product description says the 7.5 and 8' combos are good for many saltwater species. I'm just fishing on the weekends hoping to catch a few for myself so it should be fine.

@@rawrfishing well u need a special rig compliant with the regulations and u basically have to floss them as they swim by... i usually put like a peace of red spobge so i can see where my line is running.... i cannot wait to upload that video hehe

So their rods are not good? I have had cheap walmart rods that lasted years. I was trying to upgrade a little! lol
mm.. i would say some are okay, this one, although broke, it did follow me to many adventures. But i thought it would last longer.
Many of their other rods did break for me and I have replaced via warranty. Those would be Spirale and the Speed Demon.
I think there are way better rod options out there than kastking as now they are no longer focused on affordable innovation.
@@rawrfishing I was looking at the royale advantage rod and royale glory reel and the centron combo. I could get both for like 115 bux on sale for black friday. What other options are affordable for that price range. I see people saying lews, abu Garcia, shimano but they cost way more. Also at walmart I bought one lews and the blanks didnt fit together so I took it back and when I went to get another none of them in 2 stores fit together. Weird. I just own a cheap kmart shimano that lasted probably 20 years and have a ugly stik and ozark trail grit stik and some other Walmart special. I just wanted some rods with a fighting butt style handle and reel to match. With kastkings black friday specials I can basically almost get 2 rods and reels instead of 1 for the prices I've seen so far online. How long did the centron last? I usually kayak fish

Here in 2021 just bought this as my first pole. Bout time I stopped using my step-dad's
always great to start collecting your own fishing tackle! you'll learn so much from taking care of them to learning how different ones will work for different types of fishing! ;) I still have this combo and i even took it to hawaii for some fun!
Would these 6 foot rods with 20-30 pound braided line work well with salmon?
Probably... But for folks targeting such species.. I would consult with others who have experience in that fishery. I have not fished for them before

Thanks man. Some components are more prone to corrosion, especially salt water. I would opt for gears rated for salt for longevity and performance. Thx for watching

I want this combo but i looked on Amazon and they only have the 6'6 with the 2000 series reel not to 3000 series reel.
I believe the 6'6" came with a 3000 reel even though amazon says it is a 2000 reel. the KastKing website says it was a 3K. I am checking my records and it was Amazon who have the wrong information. What type of line and pound test do you use on your centron 3000
20lb braided line as the main. Then I use leader material matching the style I fish

I don't think so, but I don't do much salt water fishing. I would think bridge fishing need stronger stuff
