Finally it's time for Thunderbird 5 to get some love. But what did you learn in this briefing that you didn't know before?
To me it is very interesting to see about how this space station done and the radio communications and i really like it
Nothing yet. I still have a 113 minute wait
do love the nod to the new versions elevator
That thing underneath thunderbird 5, I didn’t know that was it’s satellite.
I Love ThunderBird 5!
The fact that it's considered one of the Thunderbirds is a testament to the show's vision. Rescue is more than just action. It requires quick thinking, as well as good communication and collaboration.
I like that he mentioned the Space Elevator from the current series.
Thank you Brains for the excellent details on Thunderbird 5. My son and I wondered about the duty cycle for the longest time - we were worried that John was up there continuously! Glad to hear that Alan swaps out with him monthly. Whew!
I wonder if Alan was dating Tin Tin would he sneak her up there with him too.
Or are we going with Alan being Penny's toyboy still ?
Space elevator? Nice nod to the 2015 reboot series there, Brains!
Yet another amazing TT. Loved the reference to the space elevator!
A big thank you to all involved with the making of this series of talks. The dedication and love poured into these productions shines through in the same way it does in the original Supermarionation shows.
And then there was the post credits teaser - Yes please!
The notion of a lift as Brains has described has been pursued with the New animated series ' Thunderbirds are go ' for Thunderbird 5.
What a strange coincidence! ;)
Well! The idea of it - was probably considered by Gerry Anderson in the creation of Thunderbird 5. But only taken up in the animated series.
2 nice little references to the new series in there, the elevator thing and the part about if communication was lost/blocked . :)
@@Tone720 the second one was a coincidence as I was referring to Attack of the Alligators :)
Love the file name... 'FILE: 19-B-0/5-TRAK-3-R/AND-3-R-50-N'
I just discovered these Tech Talks and I wanted to convey my appreciation for your having made them available for everyone to enjoy. Thank you.
You're welcome, glad you're enjoying them :)
@@ACtheLegend Indeed, Andrew.
If there's gonna be a series 2 I'd like to see:
Zero-X
Cloudbase
Angel Interceptor
Prof McClaine's car
Battlehawk
Space Police cruiser
Tornado
Angel Interceptor
Prof McClaine's car
Eagle needs to be in there too.
spectrum saloon car
Fireflash.
Ufo Interceptors and Skydiver
Awesome work guys! Got a bit of a chill up my spine when I heard Jeff's voice. Loved the after credits scene and can't wait for more!
This series has been one of the highlights of my Saturdays! Really hope it will be back for another set of tech talks 😁
Love the post-credit teaser!
These episodes have been F.A.B! It's always exciting when a new one goes live!
What does F.A.B. stand for anyway? I've never heard.
@@raymondgerlach3148 It stands for Fab or fabulous - a trendy 1960’s expression - but it was used as a call sign that sounded technical to fit in with the look & feel of the show.
These were a great series of videos.
I loved them.
Thanks you for them.
And now......
Ready for action in Earth's atmosphere.......
2:00 and in a parallel universe where technology is FAR more advanced (that would be the “Thunderbirds Are Go” universe) Brains was able to solve the problems that couldn’t be solved in the Prime universe that caused the Thunderbird 5 Space Elevator concept to be shelved.
Oh my! The 'Marvel-ous' teaser after the credits...
Can anyone say "Century 21 Tech Talk Season 2"?
@@VBaskin2010 There's so much left to profile. We haven't even got to Cloudbase yet.
Most of the details were new to me; briefing greatly appreciated, Brain!
FAVORITE SHOW WHEN I WAS 6! MINIATURES RULE!
These shows are soo beautiful!!!
It feels like I waited for this video forever
I've always liked Tintin, my favourite puppet. Allen is lucky.
I really, really enjoy these Tech Talk videos. Many thanks.
As always, this is a great way to start off Saturday. Keep up the excellent work and God bless.
1:59 Didn't they eventually do something like that in the modern Thunderbirds Are Go series?
The most recent thunderbirds are go changes a few characters. Alan is younger, they replaced Tin-tin with kayo and she pilots the newest thunderbird. The shadow it's armed high speed aircraft, with a detachable motorcycle. Grandma is younger but a horrible cook.
@@drmayeda1930 Yeah I know. I was asking about Thunderbird 5's space elevator concept.
Could you please do some more with the Pod Vehicles. Mainly The Mole and Firefly.
2:15 : Oh my! That's the precursor of Modern Thunderbird 5 method of transfer. :)
0:19 Thunderbird 5 From Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds The Original Series In 1965 Is A Bit Like The US Starship Enterprise From Star Trek The Original Series In 1966 And Star Trek The Next Generation In 1987. Thanks Mate. X
"Studied astro-communications at Harvard University." Unless Harvard added an "Astro-Communications" degree program between now and the time when Thunderbirds takes place, I'd suspect John majored in Astronomy and minored in Electrical Engineering.
AMAZING !!!!
0:27 John Tracy From Thunderbirds Thinks He Looks Like Captain James T Kirk From Star Trek The Original Series. Thanks Mate. X
Great way to end the series! It was FAB!
Great episode of C21 Tech Talk, well done team! Loved the call by Jeff Tracy 👍 And left us on a super promise of more to come from the world of UFO. But should it be hosted by Brains? Perhaps Lt Gay Ellis should do it 😉
Very Cool & Helpful! What's up next?
I didn't know it showed sleeping quarters...Guess I hadn't seen enough episodes to see it.
Wonderful 😀👍
I really enjoy these Tech Talks and Brains is a great favourite of mine. I consider him to be the best of David Graham's characters and it is good to see how you tied in the old series with the new, with the mention of the elevator that is used in the latest reincarnation of Thunderbirds. Was the part of Jeff in this made up from old clips of Peter Dyneley? I saw a clip that Jeff is coming back in the new series voiced by Lee Majors but it said Captain Tracy surely it should be Colonel?
He is a Colonel, Lee made a little slip.
Many thanks to Jamie and his colleagues at Anderson Entertainment for the Tech Talk segments. Why is Brains so formal with Jeff?
It's what Brains feels most comfortable with.
I have always thought about how did they get T5 into a stable orbit unfortunately brains doesn't explain this aside from the fact that how it was constructed
I guess it was built the same way as the ISS 90 years earlier and Thunderbird 3 probably pushed it into its final orbit.
i always wondered how the tracys built that thing without anyone on earth noticing...shouldn't somebody have picked up some kind of signal of activity? lol
Some ideas
Thunderbird 6
Sky ship one
Fire flash
Zero x
After the credits 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Omg are they gonna do a tech talk from S.H.A.D.O?
The Atragon I assume it’ll be covering more of the live action properties perhaps.
I hope they do the Terrahawks vehicles as well as Supercar
John Tracy is my heroic brother I love you John
Angel interceptor please
First, I really enjoyed this entire series. Thank you so much for doing it. Second 6:30 *fanboy squealing at ultra sonic levels*
;)
Spectrum is Green.
I always thought John was the second eldest, with Virgil being the middle son?
A quick look at Thunderbirds Are Go '66 reveals John as the third photo in Jeffs family album after Scott and Virgil.
did the show ever explain where Mr. Jeff Tracy got the money to build such an organization and such an apparatus? I would think that just one thunderbird machine would have been very expensive and budget busting to build/maintain...not to mention the sheer amount of time it took to build a thunderbird? the tracy sons must have been just little children puppets when he and Brains conceived this. lol
Jeff owned a number of patents on many of Brains' commercially inventions, and civil aviation and aerospace contracts, which when combined generated global revenue in excess of millions of dollars per day. The construction processes on the Thunderbird craft themselves were largely automated, with the exception of Thunderbird Five, which required manual assembly in Earth orbit (under the guise of an ordinary weather satellite.)
Think about what the real world cost of all of this would have been, you have TB5, now the ISS is the most expensive thing ever created by mankind, you have TB3, a reusable space vehicle, an entire island, 2 other advanced aircraft, a fleet of advanced rescue vehicles and everything else that goes with it. Gotta say, doesn't seem like the most cost effective outfit they've got.
Great video. Only question - isn't John the second of the Tracey brothers between Scott and Virgil, not the middle child as stated here? Everything I've ever read has said he was the second.
Check Jeffs photo album in the first film, Virgil is 2, John is 3 :)
@@ACtheLegend Well there you go!
Hopefully the reboot vehicles may be done one day.
Not on this channel 😊
@@GerryAndersonTV fair enough century 21 stuff it is :)
Thunderbird 5 is a massive monitoring satellite a.k.a space station
shado next ?
Another series might well be on the way... let's see! Thanks for watching!
Cool my favourite
a great place to hide John and keep him out of the limelight :D
John Tracy is always a brave boy I don’t know why John is the middle kid of his brothers
Beause he was born third and there are five of them, hence middle.
@@ACtheLegend i was going to say because somebody had to be...
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Can't remember if I made this comment on another video or not so apologies if I did. I wonder what the opinions are of the deepfake software that is available for mimicking voices? The Thunderbirds 1965 project were able to show that the old techniques for filming etc are still able to produce compelling results and if the voices of the actors can be artificially reproduced, it might be possible to make new episodes. Not entirely sure about the ethics of it all, or whether it should just be left alone but I have to say, I'm no fan of the Thunderbirds remake and would love to see the supermarionation originals make a comeback.
Well in this case it WAS the original voice actor :)
@@ACtheLegend yes mate I know
How about Thunderbird 6
Gravity?
What's SHADO?
Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation very cool look up Gerry Anderson UFO
F. A. B.!
What about gravity?
Artificial gravity plating as mentioned in the TB3 video.
22500 miles above Earth? That’s a bit distant isn’t it?
It is, but it's what's required for geosynchronous orbit to work :)
A single-manned TB5 was never a good idea. How long would it take medical aid to get there if John had suffered a personal medical emergency? Moreover, how would he alert anyone to that fact if he was unconscious? Did 'Brains' overlook all this?😉
There's an autonurse on board, vitals can be monitored remotely and help can be there in 30 minutes.
@@ACtheLegend 👍🏻
So sad that his way of finishing early?!

They were all ridiculous machines, most notably Thunderbird 2. They were more like Christmas decorations than anything credible ... lol.
Just look at the useless appendments ..
Pointless flashing bulbs; is everything failing??
Analogue dials ..
Fist size switches ...
Pointless rotating structures ...
Ridiculous mass to lift ratios.
It's a shame they didn't at least try to make these credible for the sake of educating kids. Instead many have grown up totally void of any real understanding of engineering. Missed opportunity for an even greater legacy ....
Its not like these shows inspired countless people to seek careers in the aerospace and engineering industries...oh wait...
SearchBucket2,this show has inspired many people to be engineers and pilots.i don't see the point of your criticism of this show
