Rules: Empire culture equipment and troops. Companion pool and wife must be from empire.
No mercenary or becoming a vassal for any kingdom (including Empire)
No mods and no exploits!
This video is my first ever go at UA-cam content and I hope you enjoy it!
The video started on version 1.1.0 and ended on 1.1.3 and was played/recorded/edited on a laptop.
This was 91 hours of gameplay and took a similar amount of time to edit.

The character living to be 70 years old is insane, I was impressed with derthert's 61
And still kicking ass lol. I remember on a previous playthrough, I didn’t level medicine at all and he got an illness and died after like 15 years
Yeah that’s nuts I’m at year 22 on my empire playthrough. Took all of southern and northern lands clash here and there with W. Empire but mostly fighting off the Khuzait. I plan to by the time my son comes of age conquered all of the empire, then his story will be conquering all the foreign territories and using companions from different cultures.
That's what I love about this game, the lack of story makes way to create your own! I love the replay ability because I guarantee you your next game will be 'lived' differently!

Empire is a fantastic all-rounder and there are SO MANY towns castles and villages that recruitment (should have been) a piece of cake! (If I had taken an empire town first) #learning

Very nice... I only complete world conquest 3x my first one it the longest it even reach to the point that Im playing the oldest son and win the game. And the other 2 gameplay just run over. Can't wait for big mods where world conquest is near impossible. Like the mod in warband Anno 1440 I think I forgot. And also the kill feed hahaha yea it kills PC I always disabled it. And also the flags in top of your army. I just like it clear, no immersion breaking things. Now I even start playing without crosshairs.
I love the whole play as a Heir mechanic! One mod I’d like to try is the game of thrones mod, not sure my little laptop can run many mods though lol

Sturgia desperately NEED a mechanic which negates the snow movement-penalty.
Their armies fight in the west against Battania or Vlandia, then the Khoozaits declare and gobble territory. They sue for peace
Repeat above untill sturgia is dead.
I have never seen Sturgia do well on it’s own - always one of the first to go!
When outnumbered in a siege like that and you know you can win you could either farm renown or you could just hit send troops and take them all prisoner

Questions for you - Did you ever use caravans in the early game 2) How did you deal with the factions that never dissolve when they have no fiefs?
I never used caravans at all! I’m using them at the moment for the next video and can already see it would have been better to have utilised caravans in this playthrough!
And everytime war broke out I immediately made peace, no faction was ever dissolved they just lost their lands.
I remember doing a world conquest in Warband and the last faction never dissolved, I sped up time and years went by - I didn’t look when I took over the last town and got really frustrated (I’m a stats guy)
I thought if u went negative on dinars, people deserted(you went negative) is that not the case in BL2?
Caravans can pull in huge money early and if you're not mercing or a vassal it adds up quick. Especially if you win a royal destrier/wadar hotblod/some other tier 6 in a tourney you basically get a caravan for free at the beginning of the game. Caravans kind of suck if you play normally but that isn't the case here.
Honestly I didn’t see any negative repercussions, troop morale wasn’t even effected! I paid for one of my vassals with crafted weapons lol.
Something to note: Whenever I hovered over the troop wages there was no info like quartermaster perks to reduce wages etc so maybe the whole wages thing needs/needed to be patched

How did you get 3 extra AP and 6 extra FP in that lvl? At level 43, I have 1 more FP and 2 AP less than you at 36 (with Athletics and Smithing perks for AP's)

From memory - I don’t know. Lol, there were no mods so they would be from skills like athletics and smithing like you said, my starting age was 50, maybe that has something to do with it too?
Other than specific lines like charm, riding bow etc I didn’t have a plan and just chose in the moment so I’m don’t remember

Great video, but try to use more caravans in the early game, they help a lot with starting cash to build up some extra funds for when starting your kingdom. Also please more content it was great
I’m using caravans for the next video and holy crap they’re so much better! They earn more/in profit more reliably, You can send more out (and get more renown per day with the trade perk) AND they level skills up!

@@bim_94 perhaps also make some more small campaigns that dont take too much time to play and edit them down to 10 min videos, that would really fill up your channel a bit more

Rebel town! It seems that taking rebel towns is a war free opportunity and the original kingdom owner isn’t aggravated by this! So it’s safe to take even before Clan Tier 4

@@carbon21111 ah yes yes, I don’t know fully how the AI works but everyone stayed away from me initially, after about a week there were 3 or 4 wars but I was able to cheaply push them back. I reckon it’s something about your total strength, as when I had 1 town, no one bothered me
@zygmunt I just finished my first world conquest last month and i won't be doing another any time soon due to the amount of frustration it gave me, many times i wanted to literally delete this game as it became overly unplayable from all the factions declaring war on me and wanting 10 to 20k TRIBUTE. I only found out about this later that if you want not to minimize them declaring war on you when you make your kingdom you need to have good relationship with their kings and nobles. you get this from doing their missions, being their mercenaries, marrying their daughter or releasing them after battle.
Your answer is I couldn't reverse to get good relationships with nobles after beheading their sons, daughter, sisters and family in my youth out of irritation. I humbly abdicated my kingdom then started taking rebellious cities and building them up by boosting projects with 150k for project in each town and bumping to 600 garrison plus militia. This is a tedious process because you have to constantly manage your towns, so they won't rebel, but it pays out at the end of the day. When you make your kingdom, you will have prosperous cities, the AI won't siege a town they know they can't take, take it from there by defending your town and attacking armies. Most important thing is to recruits their lords once they become poor, if you don't kill them or recruit them. They will all come back for your butt after another war sparks out.
Long story short, i died shortly after taking the last town on the map at the age of 83 and my son inherited all my belongings.
@@amourseya4300 I feel your pain, the thing that helped SO MUCH was the -50% escape Chance perks in riding and scouting, both combined making it a 0% chance to escape, just defeat a lord once and they gone until you feel generous e enough to sell them

Just wanted to let you know you can see active wars from the encyclopaedia, you don’t need the kingdoms tab.
I wish I had known that! it probably wouldn’t have effected the outcome but that would have been so useful when I recorded this!

@steve8674 yes! I loved playing the Khuzaits, I just posted that world conquest a few weeks ago! The need for war horses really held me back but the infantry were far better than I ever imagined and carried the last part of the run! Good luck! Be sure to let us know how it goes!

-your Kingdom got too few clans. Empire culture got most numerous clans , try to take advantage of that.😢
-Calradic empire is based to Byzantine empire right? So go wild recruiting mercenaries like real life Byzantine Strategos.

I’m glad you liked it! After this run I decided to only recruit clans of that culture, I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before this run because you’re right! I could have focussed on empire clans and had so many more!

I’m gonna be real - this took one month to play and another month to edit. I have a 1 year old and a full time job but I should be quicker for this next video now that I’ve done it once. Smithing is a good way to make money early game but I learned that to be successful over time you must have passive sources of income. Having your markets and offices in your castles and cities fully upgraded for tax bonuses and having max workshops that make you a profit running at all times are the way to go. Also I don’t keep a garrison at any of my settlements, just militia. Having your militia recruitment upgraded fully will grant you an astoundingly large militia force for free. This force can hold and widdle down any army long enough for you to gather your own army and launch a counter attack from outside the walls. Also when you have no garrison and just militia enemy lords will not raise such large armies to try and capture your settlements making it that much easier to crush them when you’ve gathered your own army for a counter attack. Great advice! Good point with the enemy assault force being weaker because of the reduced garrison! This was my first world conquest and I’ve just finished my fourth and I’m getting better each time! And thank you for the compliment ❤️
@@bim_94 you did better than my first world conquest! I let the conspiracy gather full strength and was completely decimated by the combined powers of Sturgia and the Aserai. I was able to destroy the Khuzaits by executing all of their lords I captured which weakened them to the point of being completely destroyed by their neighbors but in my war with them I lost focus on the conspiracy and once they come into play it’s basically a wrap

I not long completed Bannerlord II, my first character was 83 and was a great-grandfather. So I have no idea how yours didn't make it to adulthood.
I started at 50 years old and the child would have turned 18 the year I finished to be fair! This was a year ago and I have since had an adult child but never a grandchild! How many offspring did you end up with?! That's awesome!
@bim_94 I had so many. I started my character in their 20's and poured a lot into charisma, getting vrile and found a wife relatively quickly as I joined the valadians as a mercenary and kept on saving the lords. My great grandkids never made it to adulthood, and all of the character's that I wasn't playing as assigned their own skills. But I made sure to train up my kids when they came of age by sending them into bandit camps with a couple of banner knights. By this point I had already conquered Valadia and was in a stable position with lots of friends. So they got married pretty much as soon as they came of age.
I was very entertained at ur story telling, i just started soo im still chasing looters after 6 month now. Is tht bad lol. I just stink at this and yet i love it at the same time 🤣...Meow
Keep going! I had to look up guides and videos from better players before I got a grips with the basics - and as long as you’re having fun just keep it up! You’ll be king/queen one day!

What were those crazy good armies you were using? Was it just random empire troops
This was empire only, and It was a clan only army so I could micromanage their troops too - there were always straddlers from other cultures though from when we went to other towns and villages but it was (best I could) all empire!
I didn’t really have a strategy of army composition, mid/late game I recruited troops that was tier 4+ only and ignored the rest but other than that it was just what I could get!

None! Completely vanilla! I’ve only ever used one mod in my entire life - I paid a guy to make my cat the main character in the game ‘STRAY’ 🤣

I'm not on Ironman Mode but everything else is on realistic plus death enabled. I don't do industry and I don't do caravans. I fight and I take and I be rich af. Takes me many more game years, than your good self, to achieve global dominance but.
I have 700+ hours but still consider myself a total noob.
I didn’t need to worry about money when I was dominating the other factions but until then I relied on smithing 100% to get set up. I don’t particularly mind the grind but it would be nice not to do that every time lol.
As the series progresses I’m thinking about adding more rules each time, maybe one can be ‘no smithing’
@@bim_94 The various ways of making money sure improve the immersion side of the game but on realistic settings and death enabled there's just no time for it.
I have a rule: When I'm a vassal it's not my call but if I ascend the throne then I execute those who declare war on me and deny them peace for as long as I'm able.
I endeavour to become number one on all enemy faction hate lists.

You can make peace without the kingdom tab, just tell some one of that faction that you have something to talk about, we should make peace, it cost denars up front, and alot depending on kingdom strength
It has to be a clan leader, and more often than not at that stage of the game you’d get chased by non leaders with an army/ multiple parties with more troops and better men - or you’d get sieged by a non-party leader
It’s a good gamble but it’s 50/50 whether you’re going to get a head start or have to start up again - you’ve just outed me as a cowardly leader lol

Hmmm i play on console so it may be diffrent for me, the only time i find it dosnt work is when i talk to a mercenary, but i think its only works if i dont have a kingdom.

Is there a way to not use smithing and still fund your campaign
Absolutely, but I am not the one for advice. I rely on smithing until mid game - you can make enough money by defeating armies and taking towns but you obviously have to get to that part of the game first. I’ve never really felt a difference when using workshops and caravans but maybe I’m not capitalising them properly.

Is there anything you would have done differently with your character build?
I was very happy with the build, it started off exactly like Strat Gaming suggested in his world conquest guide, then I tailored it towards the end. One thing, in both world conquest videos so far I hit trade 125 for the renown gain and had to put points into it - that’s the main thing I would change as I didnt help and was expensive to set up.

Just looking now - honestly it’s pretty good! I’m level 39 and a load of focus points, endurance 10, Social 8, vigour 6, control and cunning 4, intelligence 2 (but 5 focus points into medicine and reached level 216)
One thing would be focus on scouting earlier (think I delegated it to a companion first) to get the remaining 50% prisoner escape chance quicker. I put 2 points into trade to get the workshop renown thing but honestly I feel like that was a waste so would have put those into roguery 😊
How long did this take to make happen? 60hrs?
This actually took very close to 100 hours, it was 97 I believe? Took a whole month to record!

@DIFB this is on the easiest (freebooter?) with Iron man mode on, death enabled and realistic (100%) chance of death in battles for hero’s and companions.
Harder difficulties don’t make it more fun for me and would only take longer, 1 year old + full time job = not a lot of free time! this entire video was filmed between the hours of 9pm-1am with my fingers crossed that my daughter doesn’t wake up during the night 🤣
@@bim_94 Totally understandable, just trying to gauge your playthrough and see if I wanted to put myself through the ringer of warrior or banner lord difficulty.
@DIFB honestly I’m very keen keen for the 1.2 update because at the moment when you wipe out a faction, they still come back and often want 10k/day for leave even though they have 0 properties - in 1.2, once you take all properties that kingdom has a certain amount of time to take land back before it gets removed from the game! No news on when it might be released but it is in beta if you’re on PC
You made me want to play some bannerlord singleplayer again!

Haha yep! Easy difficulty, Ironman and death 100%
The main reason was (other than I enjoy the game more like this) was because I work full time and have a 1 year old, so I literally don’t have any free time. increasing the difficulty would only take me longer, and the finished product wouldn’t be any different. This took me almost 100 hours to play which was split over 30 recordings over an entire month

Have you ever tried the hardest difficulty though? I want to do all 6 factions before anything else, but I do like the sound of a bonus bandit playthrough! On the subject of the companion only have you seen the video by Mr Chicken? He made a fantastic video of just that!

@@bim_94 it's a bit overwhelming but in a good way. I'm spent a lot of hours just learning how to fight and losing tournaments. Learned about herd penalty the hard way and ran out of arrows fighting looters 1v16. Got enough renown to go save my family around the same time I realized I needed to reroll my character stats. Started watching videos.
There's a lot of potential here and Bethesda and all these folk making space games with empty planets should take note that gamers can do a lot with one single populated world with things to do.
@Loreweavver with arrows there’s no penalty to leaving the battle then going back in, you’ll restock your arrows and your mount health (but if your health is lower than 20% you’ll have to auto-resolve it which is normally bad)
If you haven’t come across them already Strat Gaming and Flesson19 are two top tier bannerlord UA-camrs that do guides and test mechanics - they helped me the most!
@@bim_94 I was by myself and when I got to the edge of the map it said j couldn't run away. Is there another way to leave battle?
Just be a small distance away from the enemy and hit tab (or the console button to bring up the report) and click end battle, confirm and it’ll spit you out in the screen that says ‘attack, send troops, try to get away’ - when you hit ‘attack’ you’ll have full stacks of ammo!
I do this method early game when I 1v30 desert bandits

Yo Bim whats a good way to start a kingdom cause I always go broke or barely get to party 1
I heavily rely on smithing for money. At clan tier 3, With 2-5m I start looking for a weak rebel town as that doesn’t seem to trigger any wars with the main kingdoms and then use that to build up a garrison to replenish. The money is mainly for clan tier 4 when you have access to the kingdom panel and as they start declaring wars you can straight away go for peace, in this video it took like a year to go into debt for 3.5 years simply because of peace deals!
@@bim_94 How does smithing work exactly? I always saw the feature but never knew how it worked
@@prestonsimms632 some consider smithing cheating, as crafted weapons can easily be worth $40k each, there are some fantastic guides out there by Strat Gaming and Flesson19 but basically you unlock weapon parts by smelting weapons, and everything costs crafting stamina but it’s a fantastic way to make money - a lot of people hate it as it is a grind
^sorry that’s probably a really bad explanation, I’m walking and typing lol. But also in empire towns buy ‘Pugios’ it’s a cheap throwing dagger but when you smelt it it gives you every bit of crafting material apart from the top one, that’s my no1 tip for smithing
@@bim_94 I have no idea how you didn't get dec'd on by multiple kingdoms. I'm guessing this is sandbox at the very least and not campaign? I always get declared on even if i can quickly fill the garrison. You can even build up fiefs by sniping them and paying for peace before even making your own kingdom but this won't prevent them from declaring on you.

I KNOWWWWW I didn’t realise until way after the video was published - I won it in a tournament in an empire town and assumed it must be Empire then - now I made spreadsheets and lists of all ‘legal’ gear I refer to to avoid precisely this! Good spot though! (An thank you for the compliment!!)

YES!!! I’ve only ever played like this since Warband - my biggest peeve is having a massive troop list that I have to scroll to see/organise properly.
New for me this time is equipment and companions etc which was very refreshing!
@@bim_94 I did this all the time in warband, I'd just go to nord territory, fill my party to the max, and train them all to be nord huscarls, and that's how I won every battle

100%! I’ve spoken about this, while in battles time would still progress and your buddy could come save you - if you’ve ever played Rome: Total war, there’s would be like a 10 minute countdown for the reinforcements to arrive from another army! It could work I know it!

How do you make so much money while you have so much troops and Casltes?
Smithing mainly, before starting a kingdom one of the main things I focussed on was getting around 2m in the bank, when you have a larger army and wars then selling loot was what took over. Supplemented only occasionally by smithing when funds dropped below around the $500k mark!
