Awesome. Been looking forward to this since you picked it up at auction. Anxious for the follow up on the filler and top coat (both how to and product selection). Keep ‘um coming!
Hi! As a professional, I wouldn't tape the side of the seat so I could fade the paint difference, but it came out great!I do the paint from scratch. Maybe it is the first time I commented but I've been learning from you years back. Thank you for that!
Great informative video Brian 👑I have never tried this but now I feel confident about it. I appreciate your level of knowledge and sharing it with us is a great thing. Thanks Brian you really do help us with all these knowledgeable videos 👑💎✊
Wow, that was great to see the process. I hope you show some footage of the filler part on the driver seat. My car needs that done and it would be great to see it. Thanks
I think u hit that one out of the park. Looked great considering the age and mileage even after a good cleaning. That rear seat belt in the video looks like it needs hit hard to accentuate the dye job. Excellent Brian.
Nice turnaround. Hell, it looked so much better after you just cleaned that cr@p off the seat bottoms. See the Shop Manager doing a little bit of inspection at the beginning. 😁
Masterful job. Any special tips for doing leather-wrapped steering wheels? Surprised this didn't need it. They are usually the first thing to develop wear spots.
I definitely recommend convers on Infiniti leather, lean once a year and condition twice a year. Shake the leather tends to get hard, and will want to pull/crack. Greeat restoration 😊
Hey Brian. You gave several cleaning options but (alcohol, etc) but I didn't understand which one you were actually using. Was it thinner? Great video BTW!
Fantastic job Brian. In the video your respray makes them look like new! Curious as to why you didn’t remove the seats from the vehicle so you had better access and didn’t have to tape and worry about overspray?
I wait 48 hr...then Coat. I maintain them regularly. Holds up well. You can adjust how you enter and exit the car if you wish. All of these steps make a difference.
Awesome, Brian. I have a 2019 silverado with the jet black interior i need to do this on. The material is perfect, just dye transfer wear. So, a dye process. I had looked at the Geist repair dye kit. But I didn't see a topcoat. Might have to check into seat dr. Can it be applied with a sponge ? Thank you for the great video
Excellent how-to video Brian! Quick question. The clear coating that has to be abraded.... That's gone forever and is considered a sacrifice to get the surface reconditioned, correct?
Great improvement. Would have liked to see how the filler works on the cracked areas. Some type of seal coat seems necessary to protect the dye from wearing off long term.
Great job and video as normal buddy. Now how long do you wait to put a coating on the leather to protect that perfection? That seat belt on passenger side rear is nasty..lol
Brian, what a difference! I am going to have to try this on my nieces BMW. Her’s was caused by her children wearing wet swim suits she believes. She has offered it as a test vehicle.
The seats went from trash to looking great again, in my opinion. Something like this, I would stay in my lane and just have somebody like you do it for me. I keep after my leather upholstery because It would drive me nuts if my seats looked the way those did.
I will have similar vids on how to fix cracks, tears, and wholes in leather and vinyl.

Coming soon....Stay tuned! :)

My pleasure!
Shop manager would approve!
Great job Brian
Great job Brian
Thanks!
You are very talented. Looks brand new. You are awesome :)
Wow, that was great to see the process. I hope you show some footage of the filler part on the driver seat. My car needs that done and it would be great to see it.
Thanks
Absolutely. The filler should be here next week.
Great job as always Brian!
Looks great Professor!
I think it looks sooo much better.. and great tips... this is something I have been needing to try for a while now..
Looks so much better!!
Turned out very professional. An untrained eye wouldn’t know the difference especially if they are color blind 👌
Yet another amazing job Brian. I have learned so much from you. Many thanks.
My pleasure!!

Yes....the seat belts are gross.
You are never shy to just jump right in and concur, nicely done sir.
I never hesitate to step out of my comfort zone. :)
Thank you so much for this Brian...dealing with this currently on a customers Alfa....will be ordering BC 11/BC2 ASAP🏁🎬💎
Awesome. Crazy cool. Wow.
That looks AMAZING!! Wish I lived closer so you could do this to my car!
Road Trip!! :)
Looks absolutely amazing
Thanks!
Looks good
It would be interesting on trying to color match a seat, I really appreciate the demonstration, thanks Brian 👍😁
Nice turnaround. Hell, it looked so much better after you just cleaned that cr@p off the seat bottoms.
See the Shop Manager doing a little bit of inspection at the beginning. 😁

I will have a video on that this week....stay tuned! :)

Agreed.

In some cases, I do. Not needed here.
Wow! Another great video! Any concerns about cleaning the seats in the future? Can you add a top coat or is the dye pretty durable?
I will def coat them once completely cured.
Looks great but how long will it last? Will it rub off easily? You did a great job!! Thanks Brian!!
I wait 48 hr...then Coat. I maintain them regularly. Holds up well. You can adjust how you enter and exit the car if you wish. All of these steps make a difference.
@apexdetail85 Thanks Brian!!

Thank you for the great video
I wait 48 hours...then coat the areas. You can use the dab (sponge) Or even the wipe method.
Looks great. Did you spray the product as is or did you have to dilute it first?
It comes ready to use. You can however dilute with water to spray on with air brush systems.
Great video! Have never seen this done. What is your experience with longevity of a product like this with every day wear?
I wait 48 hr...then coat. Holds up very well.
Looks clean, could it be treated with a leather protection after?
You can coat it after 48 hr.
Excellent how-to video Brian!
Quick question. The clear coating that has to be abraded.... That's gone forever and is considered a sacrifice to get the surface reconditioned, correct?
It is important for the dye to adhere properly and last.....well worth it. I also coat them 48 hr later.
Great improvement. Would have liked to see how the filler works on the cracked areas. Some type of seal coat seems necessary to protect the dye from wearing off long term.
I will coat them when completely cured.
Great work! Didn’t think the paint gun can be used to dye the seats.
Paint gun, Air brush, Dap method, Wipe method. All have their place.
It looks fabulous. What did you use to clean off the old dye?
Citrol 266, mineral spirits, reducer, diluted thinner. All work.
Did you use the matt finish after dye? Or just dye? Thx
Coated it after 48 hr.
How does this compare to Colourlock leather repair and cleaner?
I have less cracking and lifting issues with Seat Docs.
@apexdetail85 Thank you for responding.
Isn’t there a protective coating that also goes over the dye.
I will add that once completely cured.
Can you show it
Massive difference. Any reason not to take the seats out to do this?
There are air bags in these seats. ...but sometimes I do need to.
Great job and video as normal buddy. Now how long do you wait to put a coating on the leather to protect that perfection? That seat belt on passenger side rear is nasty..lol
Coat after 48 hr. Yes! They are gross!
Brian, what a difference! I am going to have to try this on my nieces BMW. Her’s was caused by her children wearing wet swim suits she believes. She has offered it as a test vehicle.
You will do great. Coat them when fully cured.
The seats went from trash to looking great again, in my opinion. Something like this, I would stay in my lane and just have somebody like you do it for me. I keep after my leather upholstery because It would drive me nuts if my seats looked the way those did.
It would be great if the guy who dyed them is watching. He will probably think he should have kept the car. It’s beautiful.
I gotta tell you. I like these Qx 80s. I bought another.
Wouldn’t it better to remove the seats to spray no chance of overspray
These seats have air bags. I do remove them on occasion
First!!!!!
Not easier just to take the seats out?
No need here....but sometimes I do.
Great job Brian ! This is not a DIY job ! This should be left to the professional!
You can do it! I will show another method. Stay tuned.
Luckily the person was just enough of a simpleton to not sand the seat so the piping was savable.
Good point. :)
Seat belts are needing cleaned BAD too
Yes! Big time!
Wow just removing the horrible dye job makes the leather way better!
It did...that was terrible.
