Lots of people feeling that way. It's a combination of his exceptional skill and humanity, his comedic brilliance and the difficult time we are in right now, where anyone who can make us laugh is very welcome. The fact this man is a comedians comedian makes it particularly salient. He touched a lot of people.
I think he really cared about his family and didn’t want his job to affect their lives and privacy. He really didn’t let fame change his lifestyle. And I can respect him so much for that, what he wanted to do was entertain and fame was an unwanted side effect.
Hearing Sean talk about the cancer is incredibly sad. I wish he was around to hear all the nice things being said about him. His family must be shattered. I wish them peace
Same man, got to 4:10, felt meh, scrolled down immediately to get some solace in that I'm not alone in finding it incredibly sad hearing him talk about this. One of my life's best people whom I adored with all my heart.
Life is so unfair. He survived one form of cancer only to get another one. But everyone remember to CHECK YOURSELF and go to the doctor if you notice anything weird.
Agree. So little pretence. He seemed like such a lovely guy who knew how lucky he was to do what made him happy. A lot of comics are tortured. I dont get that with Sean
Yeah, he always seemed like such a regular bloke, who was just insanely good at making jokes about the ordinary and the mundane and twisting them into utter absurdity. Other comedians told you stories, but Sean took you on a journey through whatever brilliant strangeness was dwelling within his head that day. I'm gonna miss him so much.
Actually, read was skin cancer, contracted young working in construction and thought conquered, but came back and did the trick. I am so sad. As are so many. The world is so much poorer with the loss of this genius comedian.
I did not personally know Sean. His comedy was always relatable, and he had a personality that seemed to draw you in on a more personal level with his presence. Thank you for being the human you were in life. Thank you for enriching our lives by sharing your amazing talents with the rest of us “morons”.
Sean Lock was my go to when things were getting too much for me (like for many others as I've read in many comments sections and posts about him). Reading the comments and seeing just how loved he was by everyone really cements the person he was to people he didn't even know. I hope his family are able to see the sheer amount of beautiful words being said about him.
Kind of a bit sad so many of these words could never be said to him earlier, so he knew what kind of a mark he'd leave. He'd probably have hated that, though, I guess hehe. 🥲
"I tend to attract a more thoughtful, more intelligent heckler." *_BAM!!!_* Funny joke _and_ Jonathan Ross skewered all in one smooth, swift motion. Witness a master at work.
Such a genuine and nice person with an absolutely great sense of humor and timing. What a loss...... but it will be a lot harder for his family and loved ones.
It’s got to be almost 2 months since he died and a man I had never met and a man who never knew I existed is someone I still mourn for. I feel guilty that I even have the right to mourn him and feel awful for his family. But I suppose it must the some solace in knowing how loved Sean was. Celebrities die often but so many times I’ve heard something I couldnt agree more with. When hearing the news of Sean’s death we all genuinely felt it, not just hearing the news and thinking “oh that sucks” but we felt a genuine loss for the country.
Thanks for putting this up! I'm truly sad that he's gone, yet grateful that he was ever alive, so that he could give us so many laughs over the years 😢
This man hands down and easily became my favorite comedian, I’ve never really felt anything by over the death of a celebrity but his really got to me. I’ve been binge watching allll his stuff, the man is a comedic genius, a legend
Brilliant I absolutely loved that what a loss Sean is I was laughing a minute ago now I’m crying 😢 because he was such a brilliant comedian and such a really genuine man so sad RIPSean you are already sadly missed Love 💕 from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴😂😂😂🤣🤣😢💔
Until about 2 months ago I had never heard of Sean, but I had become a fan of Jimmy. I suppose that's why YT eventually started recommending 8 out of 10 videos and others with Sean. He quickly became one of my favorites, so it was with shock that I heard of his passing. I had no idea he was even sick. RIP, sir.
Same deal. I thought I knew all the big comedians. But it was YT recommending 8 out of 10 cats. Then it was like "why haven’t I heard of this bloke". And the binge watch was on. Couldn’t believe I’d missed him (I’m from Oz), but that’s no excuse. Because my Mums a pom. When I told her of his death, she couldn’t believe I’d missed him. But I will make it my duty to watch every show, comedy specials that he has ever done.
Great comic, he really helped me over the last 3 year's, same as Charlie Watts, comedy and music has helped me deal with being a live in career with my dad, was my mum as well, however cancer, you know the rest, Sean was a one off, cheers mate, greetings from Ireland and sun tan lotion is still a macho problem
Not an easy thing, being a live in carer. Family can make it both harder & yet more rewarding sometimes. Other times you may want to kill them. Or vice versa. Did it briefly, cancer etc. Here's to you & all family carers, especially kids.
That has to be the funniest advise ever given to young people...." Get out there and save your life ! ..Just Do It ! " ...God, is he an incredible comedian...Thanks to the Internet, I can watch him on Countdown for Cats , or his stand up routines...he never ceases to amaze...so at ease with himself, but like all great comedians...he has a way of making nearly anything hilariously funny when he talks about it
I'm so sad he's gone. One of the few celebrity deaths that touched me. Characters like Sean Locke are bright lights in this world and when they blink out, it makes the world seem worse off. I'm so glad I have all these clips on UA-cam. He never fails to make me laugh.
Though you may be gone Sean I will always remember the sweet and secret jokes you gave to the dearest of all your followers. May you forever be in our hearts wit an obscure and outdated joke that brings us all forward......
RIP i know so fleeting sketches and an odd show or two... he was really an overarching gentleman it seemed.. sound man. Looking forward to keeping him going with watching more of him, sadly nudged by his passing. He took comedy forward that's for sure and he deserves his share of credit. RIP.
On more than one occasion Sean slaughters Ross (he didn’t like that moron quip!!!). I not only liked Sean because of his amazing humour but also because he didn’t suffer fools.
I just stumbled upon the brittish comedy group from 8-10 cats to all the shows but the one person that was the real comedian the normal everyday neighbor but would make you cry from laughter was Sean !!! very very sad to finally find a comedic genius and to hear of his passing literally weeks later ... one of the best things he said was when he told the guy he wouldn't use spit when they were going to have sex that night lol everyone in the studio started crying from laughter .... RIP SEAN
That was me, a year ago. Discovering the 8-10 cats group and going from there. As some one mentioned previously, not only was he an incredible comedian but, he didn’t suffer fools. There’s always been something special about Sean. Incredibly sad news to hear of his passing. Hope the family can find peace in these difficult times. 💜🖤
Comics that make you cry with laughter are something else and Sean Lock and Bob Mortimer have always been that for me, i’ll miss him greatly and cats does countdown won’t really be the same 🥲
An absolute legend, gone nearly a year now but so hard to believe that he is no longer with us.. Watching repeats of Cats on UA-cam..... I've seen the "Challenging Wank" gag a hundred times and it still makes me laugh...😂🤣
Over a week since he died and im still binging on anything i can find him in. I cant think of any other celebrity I've felt like this over.
When an actor or comedian dies I usually avoid their stuff for awhile because of sadness, but I’ve been bingeing Sean Lock’s stuff for days on end
it's the subconscious hope to find something "new" by him even if its just new to you it would still give you that new feeling again
Lots of people feeling that way. It's a combination of his exceptional skill and humanity, his comedic brilliance and the difficult time we are in right now, where anyone who can make us laugh is very welcome. Yeah a lovely laugh out guy......life is crap
Same here...😭 still on the binge and discovering more clips of him
About 2015 I saw Sean with his family in a restaurant in Brighton. I looked and he pointed at me and mouthed "fuck off". Best encounter ever.
Did you shout perpendicular? 😂

Brilliant 😂😂
I think he really cared about his family and didn’t want his job to affect their lives and privacy. He really didn’t let fame change his lifestyle. And I can respect him so much for that, what he wanted to do was entertain and fame was an unwanted side effect.
Class act Sean Lock

had you met him ?

Some say Sean was a national treasure, I disagree, he was and always will be an international treasure!! RIP from canada!
Agreed…will be missed in Australia.
Definitely. I'm watching from New Zealand.
This American loves and misses him.
I am from Germany, and the news of his passing really hit me hard

Sean was of the Greats
Sean had a knack for coming across as Everyman, and yet he was so much more than that.
Definitely one of the great ones.

Sean was an absolute legend. Rest In Peace, Sean.
Legend, one of the few comedians that nobody disliked, could have anyone in stitches! RIP Sean!
Unbelievably talented, a massive loss but at least we have the recordings of his immense talent! Thank you Sean for making us laugh.

Sean has made me laugh out loud on some dark days. So sad to hear of his loss, genuinely gone too soon. RIP Sean ❤️
Tell us about your dark days x
Seeing him talking about having skin cancer in his earlier years and saying how lucky he was, makes it all the more heartbreaking
I dunno. He got a second chance and he used it. I'd say it's a great tale..
He was just the funniest person in the room. Easy. RIP Sean.
“Get out there and save your life” never a truer sentence spoken. Rip Sean Lock ❤️
I just found out. It truly makes me so sad when we lose the laughter 😞. He could always cheer me up.

Rip Sean ..will so be missed ..so naturally fun ..my heartfelt condolences to family and friends much love and God bless x
Jokes about the word "Perpendicular" are easy. You've just got to find the right angle.
Perfect. Sean would've loved that one.
That's easy for you to say, it's much harder to do in the 90 degree heat of the spotlight.
