I don’t think a “celebrity”death has ever saddened me this much. Feels so shocking that he lost his life so young. Condolences to everyone who loved him and will miss him. What a loss for everyone who enjoyed him and his comedy.
You know a person is well loved and respected when reading all the comments on all these youtube clips and it is the overwhelming sentiment of your statement.
I think he was the greatest. His range and scoop had no bounderies. He used always the right amount of words for the maximum effect. His calm voice talking to you as an 'expert' pulling you into any crazy story. Favourites of mine were 'spine in the sack', his koala expression and the dolphins in QI. Thank you Sean, thank you so much for all you gave! I think i can speak on behalf of all admirers in Holland
Still crushes me now. He could deliver frustration, arrogance, and many other emotions, so well. And like the guys said, he was so creative. He'd pull garbage from nowhere, run with it, and still get a bloody wonderful joke out of it. I'd just sit there in awe about how he got there. And like everyone says, he just looks like a great guy to be around. Wish I could have met him and thanked him for him being so openly him.
Living in Canada, I discovered Sean through UA-cam and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, and there’s was rarely an episode in which he didn’t make me laugh. He was far too young and had so many more laughs to gift us. RIP Sean.
Same here. Living in Ontario the past year has not been the greatest. But finding his standup and the countdown vids has made the past yr much more enjoyable. When your gut hurts from laughing so hard watching him you know that he did his job well. It truly shocked me when only after watching a couple vids the other morning and seeing Michael McIntyre's post on Facebook group about his passing. He will truly be missed. RIP Sean. Crying watching this. Bill's responses were so heartfelt, it's clear how much Sean meant to him as a friend and colleague. Such a touching tribute. I remember that initially it took me just a little longer to warm to Sean than it did to the likes of Bill or David Mitchell, Bob Mortimer, et al. But the more I saw Sean, the more I laughed, and laughed, and laughed, and just reveled in the superb, absurdist truth of his humour. Sean Lock, you are truly missed by millions of people who never knew you. Thank you for being with us.

I'm so gutted Sean Lock has died, but I can only imagine the highs & lows his peers like Bill Bailey, Dave Spikey, Jimmy Car, Jon Richardson, etc are feeling right now. They got to laugh at his material like all the rest of us, but they also knew him personally, so while I'm sure they must feel so blessed by that, they probably have an absolute void when they remember that he won't be around any more. Thank God he left us all so much incredible material. Much love to his family and all his comedian friends.

As people who knew him, worked with him and called him a mate, I don't know how these guys are managing to keep so collected talking about him on camera this way. Christ, I certainly had some tears watching this and I know I won't be the only one. As Bill said, he left one hell of a legacy with his work.

I cracked a rib then, laughing, simply could not stop! Probably the utterly most brilliant and most stupidiest things I have ever, ever heard. 🤣🤣🤣
R.I.P True Legend ❤
Two of the all-time great lines
I lost one of my best friends the other day. How Bill manages to talk about his friend like this without losing it gets my upmost respect. Cherish your friendships. God bless all those grieving the loss of loved one.
Bloke from germany here. Even over here people admired his comedy. I had so many nice times watching him on countdown. Condolences to his loved ones. He was one of the best and he will be missed. I will surely.
Loved Sean, absolutely hilarious. Felt the same way when Rik Mayall died. Disbelief
Sean Lock will go down as one of the greatest British comics in history.
RIP Sean.
I'm an American and had the same experience. I will never forget Carrot in a Box.
@@flourchylde I cannot recommend his DVD specials enough. Lots of clips on UA-cam 👍
RIP Sean. Thank you for your humor, your laughter, your amazing talent.
Same here. What a brilliant and quirky comedic mind! His passing leaves a big hole in British entertainment.
Living in India, similar discover, he was so much fun to be around may his legacy joy and laughter carried on... Thank you for making me laugh in the worst of times... RIP Sean.
Felt like crying for bill it's heartbreaking as Sean said "you cant write tears" how write you were mate Rip Mr Lock
Just like you can’t WRITE the RIGHT word
“Right”
i see that you skipped p1 with that spelling of “right”
Wow, the spelling police are out like a gang of childish thugs. 🚨
@@Notconceitedjustbetterthanyou Yet you edited your comment? Fool......
I'm an American and I'm absolutely devastated by this news. One of the driest wits and so self deprecating. Best thoughts to his friends, family and other close folks
So so sad, I think he had more fans than he ever realised.
Love to his family, friends and fans ❤️
Most of my friends don't know who this man was here in the States, but I do, and it is their loss because we have lost another great one. I will miss his deadpan delivery.
I’m an American and enjoyed watching Sean on 8 out of 10 cats on UA-cam. Such a great comedian. Just found the show about three years ago. Great man. R.I.P.
Bill looked like he was holding it all in there bless him 🙏
Crying watching this.
To see Bill Bailey at a loss for words really speaks to his connection with Sean
He looks devastated
I can't but feel that Bill Bailey honored Sean Lock by giving the best comedian euligy with the biggest head. Well done.
I keep reading he was a comedians comedian! That must be the highest praise a comedian can receive! Seems like he was just universally funny! Will be missed! RIP
Laughter, like music, is one of life’s great gifts.
Wow Bill. Thank you for sharing. Such a genuine person sharing about another genuine person. Sean was great because he was just a bloke. But he could always top you.
You can see the pain in Dave's face. So sad.
Some of the best of Sean Lock was when it seemed he was just someone who'd wandered into a TV studio and started telling a story. He'll be missed on both sides of the pond.
Oh my god, ha ha! That's brilliant.
Very underrated wasn’t a arena sellout kind of comic but was still one of the funniest guys on tv
Massive fan, I always thought he did best on TV around other comedians than stand up though. But not every comedian can be exceptional at it all
@@michaelcolbourn6719 carrot in a box is pure genius the funniest thing I’ve ever seen watched again last with tears
He wasn't underrated sell out tours says it all loads of TV work says it all I think your the only one who thinks that way
@@TheWelwyn21 Sean is my favourite comedian and I absolutely love the guy but I think it’s fair to say stand up wasn’t what made him the best comedian, it’s his appearances on panel shows which makes him stand out as one of the best comedians ever
@@TheWelwyn21 you have totally got the wrong idea iv seen Sean 3 times in small venues I was making a point that he didn’t have the fan base for big arena tours like say Peter Kay but is still one of the funniest guys on tv you tit
I remember watching "carrot in a box" for the first time and nearly wetting myself laughing. The world will definitely miss his ingenious mind.
Like Jon Richardson said “if there’s no carrot in the box YOUR A GENIUS “ and Sean was
The world needs more Carrot in a Box, one of the best skits ever.
R.I.P Sean, you will be missed
Aw it's weird I don't usually get emotional about celebrity deaths but when I heard Sean Lock had gone I really did feel like I had lost an uncle or something,
as did many other people I'm sure. What a great guy. There are not many comedians that can make people consistently laugh like Lock did. rip to a true comedy legend
Same here mate, it's such a bloody shame
Same
So true
Same. I felt devastated. It's weird. I almost cried when I found out on the train.
@@charmainevillamin4658 same, and i dont normally get sad when a celeb passes. But sean brightened up many of my days when i was tired from work or upset or down etc. He was a legend and will be sorely missed
Stupid media questions but lovely to hear of how well loved he was
I thought they handled this pretty well
He might not walk amongst us anymore, but he will forever bring a smile to our faces. Thank you Sean 😥♥️
aaaand I'm crying again
I‘m from Germany and a huge fan of Sean Lock. I‘m still so sad that he passed away. Soon gonna watch Ideal again. Can‘t wait to see the episodes featuring Sean. 🖤
Much love to his family and all his comedian friends.
he is one of the most consistent comedians that could make me 'belly' laugh for the last 30 years, even with repeat watching. the guy always made the best jokes possible for the situation/subject.
All I can think of is "you can't write tears" so sad. RIP Sean Lock
From Australia 🇦🇺.
So very sad and absolutely stunned. We can really only watch the great British comedians on UA-cam.
My bedtime viewing includes Sean Lock, whenever he came across my feed. So happy to have come across this man.
My viewing won’t be the same.
RIP lovely man. 🙏🏻
Being from America, my introduction to him was the carrot in a box skit. Hadn’t laughed that hard in decades. Brilliant comedian. RIP.
Making him laugh was the mark of comedy skill. Watching him laugh was infectious.
Thanks for brightening the world mate.
“That’s a challenging wank.” R.I.P. Sean. You’ll be sorely missed.
The pain in Spikey’s face and voice says it all. Sean was the absolute best at what he did, and was a gentleman to boot. Will be forever sorely missed by his legions of fans and those that loved him.
Sean Lock gave the world so many laughs and that’s the tragedy of him leaving this world so early.Sending love from an Australian fan. Thanks mate.xxx
Being from America what got me into British comedy was “best of Sean lock on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown ” on UA-cam a few years ago. RIP to a true comedic genius
he just had a wonderful sparkle in his eye, especially when being his "driest"..
R.I.P. Funny Man..
It’s absolutely amazing to see such an outpouring of love for him, he will be greatly missed by everyone ❤️
Rachel’s ski outfit….Sean “that’s a difficult wank”…genius! Cheers from the US Sean!
That was brilliantly funny. He was the kind of comedian that was brave enough to do that and know he'd get away with it.
Challenging wank, he will be missed greatly, someone you'd never thought would die
I think Sean would be overwhelmed by how much we loved him. It’s feels like we’ve lost a pal. So sad he’s gone, x
As an American, I never would’ve heard of Sean if it wasn’t for the shows that Jimmy Carr hosted that I’ve watched on UA-cam. A very unique talent. God Bless.
Wow that was a beautiful video. Lots of love to Spikey, you made me cry.
I discovered 8 out of 10 cats does countdown a few months ago and sean lock was in it. I immediately love the vibes he brought and I watched every episode I can find with him in it. In a few months he brought me joy during this hard time and I'm devastated that the man that made me laugh in a short amount of time is now gone. RIP Sean you will be dearly missed.
As people who knew him, worked with him and called him a mate, I don't know how these guys are managing to keep so collected talking about him on camera this way. Christ, I certainly had some tears watching this and I know I won't be the only one. As Bill said, he left one hell of a legacy with his work.
I watched him on you tube and am not ready for him to go! I think he was one if the funniest comedians ever! I shall miss him terribly. Being in the states I never saw him live. My thoughts to his family!!
RIP mate. Thanks for all the laughs. You are greatly missed.
I loved Sean’s humour. We will miss him very much. Heaps of love to his family.
'A wonderful comic'
Sean Lock right now: Are you mental?
Sean felt like the uncle at family partys even tho ive never met him his comedy made me feel like i knew him he truly was the best comedian ive ever seen
2 years on I still can't believe he's not here anymore. The finest comedian of his generation. I put his work on when I'm down and I thank him for never failing to cheer me up. Miss you Sean.
A really lovely man,he will be missed…….but never forgotten. We should remember……don’t cry because he’s gone..let’s smile because he was here. Rest in peace dear man.
I’m an italian guy who just know these comedians by watching youtube videos. Yet I’m crying. Hope the best for his family
His passing hit me as hard as when Robin Williams died. Such an enourmous loss. RIP
Same, oddly. I’ve felt so sad.
Same it’s not often celebrity deaths make me sad but damn this one has hit me hard RIP Sean
Still watch as much of Sean's stuff as I can because it never gets old - funny every time. The guy was PEAK comedy.
Wonderful comments here. My condolences to everyone who knew him,and to those who, like me,felt like they knew him. Rest easy,Sean
One of the few comedians in life who kept making me cry with laughter. RIP
I can't write tears.... :(. Lovely words from Dave and Bill.
No one can replace Sean Lock. His timing and mannerisms with deadpan delivery was truly unique and his outlook on life.
Can 2021 get any worse? Very sad to hear Sean Lock has passed away. He made me laugh till it hurt so many times.
Years ago while searching comedians on the net I came across a QI clip with Sean Lock as a guest. That started a friendship that lasted many years. I never met Sean, was never even in the same country as him and he never knew about this friendship. Well that's what it felt like. An amazing comedy talent that, no matter what could bring a smile to anyone's face. Goodbye Sean Lock, from a friend you never met
The Real Man's Road Trip With Sean Lock & Jon Richardson Go West was also outstanding, RIP
Sean Lock made me actually binge watch 8 Out of 10 Cats...can't imagine how it could go without him...RIP Mr. Lock
Used to love every time he came on QI as well.
So sad, my most favourite comedian, he’s unknowingly helped me through some tough days.
Discovered his comedy in recent years and was hooked immediately. Thank you Sean, you will be missed, but your genius will live on for ever.
I was so so sorry to hear about the passing of Sean. He was a seriously funny man! The world is a poorer place without him 😢
RIP Sean Lock. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends 🙏
I watched him yesterday and I was literally crying with laughter. He will be missed.
I’m deeply gutted.
I hope these tributes give his family some comfort
I'm not surprised bill and him were good friends the both have it naturally in a abundance its easy for them you can see it
The world is now a bit darker from losing Sean Locke.

Teared up watching this. RIP legend.
he seemed like a smart man, and generous, he always seemed willing to build up other comedians, really liked his comedy.
Sean was always so captivating, whenever he spoke you instantly would wonder "where the hell is this gonna go" and you could never guess how funny it would end up being.
His spirit will carry on. Peace
He really was the comedian's comedian, a force to be reckoned with and a very kind heart. We miss you Sean, and many of us never even met you
As an American, I truly enjoyed his style. He just made me laugh over his inventiveness. He was extremely smart and very silly, just a great combo! Rest In Peace, you wonderful soul!
