When i was a kid, we would wait for a super low tide at Nunnery Bay (Isle of Wight) and wade out on a sandbar. When we used to sneak in, it was loaded with Coast Guard munitions and all sorts of assorted “stuff”, but that was back in the late 80’s very early 90’s. I ended up getting a civilian scholarship to Portsmouth Naval Academy (Maritime Architecture, through the officers program), I always had the thought of coming back and purchasing one for restoration. I now live in Tiburon, California. As I approach my 60’s with 9 and 12 yr old kids, I would love to buy one of these old forts and have it restored /renovated , so my kids can experience some of the life i had on the water.
Lovely place to live! Spent many a holiday there! I'm from Portsmouth so always seen these forts but, thanks to Matt got to go on them free of charge lol

I was thinking, damn I keep forgetting to SUB you mate, then I was looking for ShavenNaven and couldn’t find you! 😂👍 Well I finally got here, Subbed and will have a look around. 😎👍
I am always intrigued by the building of these forts on the water. I would love to know what the very first step to setting the foundation would be especially in the old days so to speak.
