Got it for 38 at Hobby Lobby! Didn't even realize at the time that it was this popular of a kit, it was just a big kit on a good sale, looked nice, and that was enough for me.
The RG Hi-Nu really is a masterpiece. It's been two weeks since that build and I still miss it. It's such a powerful kit that shows the absolute best that Bandai's ever had
@@azrael1045 God Gundam is amazing in its own right. Hi Nu just takes everything to the next level. The articulation is immaculate on the God Gundam, but it’s really not much behind with Nu. I love them both but the build of the Hi Nu is just unmatched for me. Favorite build of the 70+ kits I’ve built. SD, HG, RG or MG included.
I've built just about every newer-style RG (or variant) since they started to phase out the pre-assembled inner frame. Unicorn Perfectibility, Phenex, Tallgeese III, Sazabi, Crossbone X2, Nu, Zeong, Hi-Nu. The Hi-Nu is the ONLY kit RG I've seen with PG levels of detail and intricacy. Easily the best RG, and easily one of my favorite kits, right up alongside MG Barbatos and Sazabi ver ka. I never buy above retail though. Bandai will eventually reprint. Everything comes back into reprint eventually and it being newer guarantees a higher frequency of printing.
Just bought this kit today for $60 dollars Canadian. 😊 Very happy I picked a great gunpla..my first one. In scale with my Armored Core kits. White Glint..V.O.B. will paint in future. So happy tons of parts to build and great looking unpainted. Thanks Games Stop.
Couldn't agree more. This kit was a constant stream of surprise and delight to build, and what's even more heartening is what all the engineering techniques they've perfected here will do for kits of other people's favorite mobile suit designs. (Because the Hi Nu, particularly the beefy novel version, is my favorite mobile suit.)
I skipped the initial wave when I saw the price of the Hi Nu even though I love the RG design almost entirely because it was more expensive than the Nu and (at the time) it didn’t make any sense, since the Hi Nu is supposed to be smaller. Upon release and seeing that it’s the same scale as the Nu basically, the price made sense and I ordered one from the second wave right away. It’s an absolutely gorgeous kit, and painted I bet it looks even better.
I managed to preorder it at my local store for like 45bucks and I'm finally gonna pick it up later today. This is the most excited I've been to build a kit, it looks so freaking cool
I bought this and the hyper mega bazooka launcher from resellers. It’ll be my second and third builds ever lol I’m super new. When I saw it I knew I had to have it even at a marked up reseller price, it’ll probably be my favorite build out of all available kits right now.
Was never a fan of the original and the modernized design of the Hi-Nu, but I never thought I'd love an amalgamation of both as seen in the RG Hi-Nu. This kit made me a fan of the Hi-Nu gundam.
I game my MG Hi Nu Ver Ka the extra beam rifle from my Sinanju Stein Narrative ver. and it fits so much better with this chunky boy then the standard Hi Nu rifle and I wish we could do that with this new RG
I got lucky when I decided to browse my local hobby shop one day and saw two of these stacked on the shelf. I knew I had to get it. The shipment was definitely fresh, as the model wasn’t there the week before. I really got lucky
I was really lucky to have preordered this through USAGS for 50 bucks. Still haven’t opened the runners from the plastic bags yet. Thanking my lucky stars I don’t have to pay scalper prices to get it now
First time builder. I've chosen this one as my first step into the world of gunpla. Hopefully it won't be too difficult. I will step up to MG Freedom Gundam Ver 2.0 once I've gained enough experience.
Compared to the RG Hi-Nu, the MG Freedom 2.0 is more of a step down than up. Not to say that you shouldn't build it, but I think you'll be surprised by how basic it feels coming off of the Hi-Nu.
Speaking of RG kits, I actually ordered the RG Phenex off P Bandai recently and man I can't wait. Back to the Nu in question, man this thing looks spectacular. Why do all the good kits from last year have to be super hard to find (Looking at you, VIRTUE!)
1:00 I don't think anyone liked the old inner frame since it lead to 'early rg syndrome', or whatever mecha gaikotsu called it, where the kit in question had a high chance of becoming extremely loose and flimsy.
They switched the inner beacause the old premolded frames became loose over time and didnt aged well so bandai had to slowly switch over to a frame akin to a master grade
while RG hi nu packs a lot of detailed engineering beneath it i feel like RG is slowly deviating away from the 'Real' aspect and started to look more fancy. i loved the RG line because they adopted a sharper and more angular look compared to their HG/MG counterpart, but since RG Wing tv they dont interest me that much anymore. looks wise RG crossbone is excellent, while RG nu is debatable (some say the ver Ka is superior in proportions and looks)
It's a good kit, certainly not a bad one! But it's just not for me at the very least. I'm not a fan of how they changed the head to give it a standard Gundam face, the height being this big feels weird and is really inaccurate for my taste, the color additions are nice but I enjoy the basic colors without extra gold and silver bits, with the amount of detail it does make it look good but it doesn't really look good compare to it's other companies like the Jegan and Nightingale. With all this, it's a skip for me. I'll stick with the HG version for now at the very least.
It's also the most *non 1/144* RG of all time (so far). Like, this might as well be a non-scale figure in terms of how it breaks its own scale. It's simply too big for 1/144.
@@Channel2S I'm mostly talking about Gundam RGs of course. Do EVA RGs even state their scale in the first place? IIRC they're non-scale from the start.
It's good kit but I really fail as RG when talking about hidden stress lines especially the silver chrome parts of it. It still has the same problem with its HG counterpart. As RG it should be better. The best one in my opinion is Zeong.

im wondering how the God Gundam will stack up
after building the RG Tallgeese EW and now almost done with the RG Hi Nu I want a master grade that’s more like a real grade lol.

Been a while since did a review man good to see doing it again

The color separation was a life and time saver. My younger brother built the Ver Ka and had a lot of water slides to deal with to make it accurate.
I managed to preorder it at my local store for like 45bucks and I'm finally gonna pick it up later today. This is the most excited I've been to build a kit, it looks so freaking cool
What a steal
Hi-nu looks amazing
When I first got into the franchise I always saw this suit and wanted a kit of it, I'm surprised I haven't gotten one yet.
the MG ver Ka is really good too
I bought two for $68 each with shipping. It was totally worth it. One unopened and saved for custom build later when I have time.
I bought this and the hyper mega bazooka launcher from resellers. It’ll be my second and third builds ever lol I’m super new. When I saw it I knew I had to have it even at a marked up reseller price, it’ll probably be my favorite build out of all available kits right now.
Awesome to see you doing reviews again! Missed you man
we've missed you sir! great to see your review again

Watch out for the plating on parts on the shield extensions, I broke a clear part because it was too tight
found one!

But the coloration, why not the G-3 grey. Works alot better with the blue.
And I think the Virtue was the King of 2021. Hi-Nu was place two. 😄
They switched the inner beacause the old premolded frames became loose over time and didnt aged well so bandai had to slowly switch over to a frame akin to a master grade
Gunpla shortage and gunpla scalpers are a real pain. I cant even pre order pbandai before it goes out of stock. :/
How do you get that satin finish look?
Where does that SD Hi-Nu animation come from?
@Channel 2S I also would like to know
It's linked in the description.
I acknowledge that it's the best :)
But I haven't got my hands on it yet :(
This design is much better looking than nu gundam. But all of these need a PG
heck for being smaller the RG Hi-Nu is even better than the larger MG version just to show how far Bandai's tech progressed in a decade.
does this kit support led?
No, but some people have wired up their own custom lights.

probably gonna be dethroned by rg god gundam this year tho
Ah yes, the one rg out of all of them to have the shittiest gold parts is somehow the best.
Personally I think the sazabi is better
It's good kit but I really fail as RG when talking about hidden stress lines especially the silver chrome parts of it. It still has the same problem with its HG counterpart.
As RG it should be better. The best one in my opinion is Zeong.
