Posing just only the opening and closing since I don't have the whole episode of this great children show, which I didn't know this would be taken down many times. Anyway, Enjoy!
David S. Yes, I miss mine too..... No car payments, no insurance payments, free chauffeur service, no annual car and license re-registration, no need for a fishing permit, no worries about cholesterol, no need to worry about a job because I was too young, and SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS! REAL CARTOONS! THE KIND WITH IDIOTS, EXPLOSIVES, FALLING ANVILS AND PIANOS, ORCHESTRATED MUSIC AND NON-POLITICALLY-CORRECT HUMOR!
its amazing how every sound and word is burned into your memory even if its been several years since you have seen or heard it. #childhoodmemories #nostalgia
I sing "It's dinnerrrr tiiiiiiiime....at Eureeekaaa's caaastlllle..." to my dog every evening at dinner time...and hadn't seen or heard the actual song in at least 20 years. LOL!!! I finally decided to sit down and look it up on UA-cam for old time's sake.
As an '80s kid, I cried a little watching this. Not so much for nostalgic reasons, but for the fact that if these shows, or shows like them were still around, the world might not be such a bad place. Growing up in a severely dysfunctional family, I really didn't have any real positive support/stimulation, so I learned a LOT of stuff from watching shows like this. Both intellectual and emotional. Most of the crap shown nowadays is why I think there are so many stupid people (teenagers/kids) running around.
Dennis Thompson agreed. God, my heart at first feels warm and giddy then I feel a cold sadness wishing I were a child again. TV for kids is nothing like it used to be.
Dennis Thompson yeah bro you had the same exact feelings I have damn exact same kind I learned so much from my cartoons we all did those of us growing up in the eighties and early nineties unlike these garbage unthoughtful pointless cartoons that plum stupid ignorant lame shit they have today they can't hold a fart to this stuff
youd be suprised what reaching out to there facebook pages can do i got mr rodgers back on my local pbs and if you call some of them listen even more call the bigger pbs in your state sometimes the'll put it back on.
These shows were made with love and creativity. It's kinda like old video games. Programmers were masters of their craft. Assembly language, digital art, story telling, music... Indie today tries, but can't get it right. Todays shows are nothing but a political agenda. Can't call it nostalgia glasses because the last show I enjoyed on tv was chowder and I look forward to The Raccoons reboot. The Raccoons literally dodged the bullet by rejecting cal arts style. But for the most part, 90% of modern shows are terrible.
Haven't watched or thought about this show in at least 20 years, and as soon as I heard the singing "Eu-ree-kaaaaa" my brain suddenly just clicked and I remembered the remainder of the song, the characters, the room I would watch it in, etc. It's amazing, really. The memories you have stored in your brain that you didn't even know where there.
Eureka instilled the last great generation of survivors in all of our brains.. go out in the woods and see what happens when you come back 2 weeks later, you’ll be 10 lbs heavier
Gakusangi, I would have to agree, because I remember watching this show when it was on old Nickelodeon, I also remember I used to have the puppets too, god I wish this was on a DVD box set, because Kids today don't even know what good shows are, all that's on is SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE, ETC, ETC, ETC.
Janie Doe I really wish people would just get over Spongebob, I can't stand that show and I don't see any benefit to kids watching it. Shows back when I grew up were entertaining but also TAUGHT things -_-
Any body remember Nick news??? lol I use to hate it when I was a kid and turn the tv off I think it was the last show on Saturday night "Snick" before nick at night would air. Memories!!!!
Sure. I just took a sip of my ecto cooler and reminisced while watching this. When did I get so old and why didn't life turn out the way I wanted it to?...
You can find alot of these old shows online if you don't mind technically pirating. Even so, don't expect HD quality. Back then you're lucky if they aired in 420p mostly they were in standard definition
Use this tool to get alot of them for free!! facebook.com/1517160868604660/photos/a.1517166945270719.1073741828.1517160868604660/1518678735119540/?type=3&pidid=5c28f16d-0696-4d8d-ae4e-f9c2fd238e79 Eureeka's Castle Opening and Closing
Many different people worked with the Henson company, as they had the workshop that made the puppets and taught the puppeteers. But that didn't automatically make Jim Henson's direct team involved with the projects :) They were often busy with multiple ones of their own at any given time.
First time i saw this show on Nick Jr, i was amazed; not only was it fun, but the puppeteering was of Jim Henson quality. The characters were interesting and funny, and the shorts were clever. And the beginning and end song...i swear, it was hilarious. It was this, The World of David the Gnome, the Little Koala, the Noozles....Good times, *gooooood times*
Shenruss, I would have to agree with you, because this, The World Of David The Gnome, The Little Koala, The Noozles, Maya The Bee, Grim's Fairy Tale Classics, is my all time Favorite Nick JR TV shows, God I wish there was a Network that only has Nick JR shows.
clockwork421 Nietzsche says fuck you. He says you just think that, just like today's kids will say that in a generation or two. it's all nostalgia. Nothing but emotion. I always used to pretend to be sick to my parents, and I heard this when my grandma used to mind me, and she knew I wasn't sick, but we both danced to the music when this show aired! "Spicy salty, sour sweet, bring us something good to eat!"

Yep. Credited as Jovial Bob, the future writer who gave everyone Goosebumps head wrote & co-created this puppet series using veteran Muppeteers freelancing from the main Jim Henson projects.
Eureeka's Castle was Nickelodeon/Nick Jr.'s version of Jim Henson’s Muppets on Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and Fraggle Rock. I loved all the characters, the sorcerer Eureeka, the dragon Magellan, the pets Cooey and the Slurms, the bat Batley, the spider Webster, Bogge and Quagmire, Mr. Knack, the mice Sir Klank, Kate, and Emma, the singing fish statues called The Fishtones, and The Giant, the off-animated segments from Western Woods Studios films based on popular children's books, live-action short films, and U.K. imports such as Roobard, The Shoe People, and Gran, they'd use as filler Entertainment. I used to watch this show all the time. From 1990 to 1993, the show was airing on early Weekend Mornings on Nickelodeon in the 7:00am timeslots, and from 1993 to 1994, later moved to the 6:30am timeslot. From 1992 to 1993, the show aired from 9:00am to 12:00 noon Monday to Friday, From Summer to early fall 1993, it was from 9:00 to 11:00am. From Fall to Winter 1993, it was from 10:00am to 11:00am, From early to Summer 1994, it was from 12:00 to 1:00pm 1993 to 1996, in Summer 1994, the half-hour timeslot was from 12:00pm. From fall 1994 to early fall 1996, and fall 1998 to Spring 1999, it was from 1:00 to 1:30pm, when it was replaced by Franklin. Memories!!!
Holy crap, I was just thinking about this the other day but I couldn't remember the name of the show and I went to Google and punched in "Elmira's Castle" and it showed me this and my jaw dropped because I was starting to think it was like "Candle Cove" and I only imagined it!
omg this brought me waaaaaay back. I remember the intro like it was yesterday. I can't believe I am as almost old as this show. it first aired around 1989. I used to imitate the bat. "I meant to do that!" I remember one where he broke his glasses and he wanted them fixed, but Eureka kept getting it messed up. "Not grasses, GLASSES!" "Not Lassies, GLASSES!"
I'm a grown ass man and I cry everytime I see this video. It takes me back to a more happier time in my life. I was in the first grade, we still had the house we grew up in, my father was alive and still married to my mother. I love this show like no other, but it hurts like hell to see it.
old school nick jr. was awesome. i know whomever comes and watches this would have sung along with the opening of Guhlla Guhlla island...also the fish here reminded me of those purple vitamin Flintstone tablets, and the pink peanut butter eating puppet reminded me of a strawberry ice cream bar lol Batly was my favorite character as i remember
The fish were always my favorite, I wonder if it is possible to get this on DVD from the creators or from ebay or Amazon? I'd love to collect all of my favorite childhood shows. This is a classic! Thanks so much for posting this. Hugs
Might have been the first time I seen this, or thought about it, in twenty-something years. To borrow a phrase, at 30, I feel old. One of the better television puppet shows not related to Jim Henson.
yep r.l. stein really knew how to make great tv shows for all ages lol which might explain why i loved this so much as a kid when i found out that stein made it :P
I was born in 88 and watched this shit all the time, My reaction to seeing this just now for the first time since maybe 1992 was, "Holy fuck." I remembered most of the parts especially the slugs talking to each other for some reason.
This is the show that got me into peanut butter sandwiches. I remember chanting that little spell whenever I'm making a snack... Ahh good times... good times...
Oh wow. So many memories tied to this show. And it certainly is a reason for my love of mechanical stuff ( the music box castle gearing) and good music ( the harmony singing fish fountain) because the show was full of both :)
To this very day, I can still remember "Don't worry, don't worry, the great Batley is on his way...". I actually had a Batley toy when they came out for the McDonald's Happy Meal. I wish I still had it. He was my favorite.
This was my son's favorite show when he was a toddler to older. He had a lineup. Maya the Bee, this show, Graham and Lois Show with the Elephant, David the Gnome, and something else that I can't remember. My youngest grandson is 10 months old and when I was feeding him one time, I was singing "picnic time, picnic time", and my daughter goes what's that? I told her that her older brother loved that show and I loved that song, so I looked it up so she could hear it. My grandson likes it, my daughter, not so much. But, she's a party pooper anyway. She likes rap and hip hop :( blech!!
It has been forever since I last saw an episode of Eureeka's Castle. I loved watching this on Nick Jr. ...And I wish Nick Jr. would air this today, since they have that one special of "The 90s Were All That" on Nickelodeon, and airs reruns of Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, Wiernerville, Double Dare, and other popular shows from Nickelodeon that aired during the 90s. With all popular shows from Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., I think they should create a newer Nick channel for these 80s and 90s shows.
I think I was in Junior High when this show first aired. I loved it, I thought it was so cute! I never told anyone that I watched it though! But I'll say it now, I LOVE EUREEKA'S CASTLE!!!!
Oh God I remember this show, it was AWESOME and Amazing, God I wish that This and other old School Nickelodeon Shows and cartoons would be on a DVD Anthology Box Set, because Kid's Today don't even know what good shows are, all that's on TV is the crappy ones, also I think that There should be a place that has all the sets (including this set of this AWESOME show), and the set of the TV series "Are You Afraid of the dark". At Universal Studios, And Also The Set Of Eureeka's Castle would have The Characters Of This Show Too, and It'll have Pictures of every single Old School Nickelodeon Cartoon Show too.
OH MY GOD! I REMEMBER this show! I recognize the bat and a bunch of the little critter type things. Thank god for youtube and keeping such great shows alive!
I remember being 2 in 1992, watching this only for the intro and outro music. At 17 in early 2008, I daydreamed of having Eureeka ride with me in leather on my Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Eureeka driving and me behind her. X3 (yeah, it's taking me a while to grow up XD) -sigh-Even though I'm straight in every way, I have always loved cute castles and pretty dragons like Spyro, yet I'm a wild leather-wearing biker with my own Harley biker group. I'd never tell this to any of my members, but I'm a boy with girl tastes.
Today's nickelodeon sucks badly ! I miss nickelodeons hayday the 80s and 90s Rock! I wish they would bring all the old nickelodeon bumbers back... Nickelodeon needs a complete overhaul!
Ohhh myyyy Jebus!! I am so ridiculously stoned right now, that this is bringing me both a nostalgic feeling, but also instilling a deep and sorrowful feeling of longing and regret as I look back upon my innocence when I grew up in the 90's; Ohhhhh how I miss Darkwing Duck, Eurekas Castle, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, Eeek The Cat, The Tick, Duckman, Tales Spin, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Ren N Stimpy, Roccos Modern Life, Pee Wees Playhouse and the rest!! snff' sniff' :'>(
Ahh, back when I enjoyed being alive.
agreed. Now I'm just a shell of my old self.
oof
Oh, I miss my childhood.
+David S. My memories came flooding back as I watched this video. :D
David S. i miss mine too
David S. Me too. I remember watching the very first episode and waking up early every morning so I would not missed it.
David S. Yes, I miss mine too.....

Foreal!
It's true! It's like the lyrics never left my brain..!!!
Watching this made me feel like I was a little kid again getting ready for my first day at kindergarten.

Yeah, it's amazing what you'll just suddenly remember XD
I was just thinking that right before I saw your comment. It's a great feeling and a shitty feeling at the same time. lol

Sure. I just took a sip of my ecto cooler and reminisced while watching this. When did I get so old and why didn't life turn out the way I wanted it to?...
a lil bit,i miss these kinda shows :')
Today's kids aren't so deprived. Bear, Jonny and the Sprites, and some others I could mention seem to really capture the older spirit.
I wish they would make a channel just for shows like from the 80's & 90's

+DreamDancer82 Batley was my favorite character, even to this day.
cause they had killer harmonies
Wonder if they’re the reason why I like vocal harmonies especially in doo wop and classic rock.
Same! Probably because they were always singing
I just found out about this. The co-creator and head writer for the show was... R.L. Stine.
I am not kidding.
docdave15 What? No way. This has gotta be Jim Henson. I mean the muppets look and move like his creations.
bezoticallyyours83 Many of the puppeteers on this show worked for Sesame Street. But it was created by R.L. Stine.
Many different people worked with the Henson company, as they had the workshop that made the puppets and taught the puppeteers. But that didn't automatically make Jim Henson's direct team involved with the projects :) They were often busy with multiple ones of their own at any given time.
I know. He really isn't kidding.
Yeah, I know...the king of the Goosebumps series! Mind. Blown.

Janie Doe How old are you? I grew up with all the shows you listed. I was born in 86
Ricky Ray 86 birth here too!
Ricky Ray I'm not far older; I was 1985; and I grew up on those shows too. Always liked Eureka's Castle :)
Janie Doe I've always like these old Nick shows. I wish they would bring them all back.
Batley was the shit!
Takes me back when I was 4.
We must be the same age, then.
those who really remember this, who actually watched when it came out, are about the same ages. i was 4 or 5 when i watched it too, im 29 now.
Was my favorite show. I'm 29 years old
Nah, for me I was 6 years old when I started watching this. I'm 33 today.
I used to watch this show when i was 2.
I'm 25 now
why would this get taken down, as if Eureeka's Castle is still a material source of revenue for Nickelodeon
God dammit, childrens shows today will never be anywhere near the caliber we had when this was airing. I cant be the only one to feel like this.
+clockwork421
MUH CHILDHOOD
yep
clockwork421 Nietzsche says fuck you. He says you just think that, just like today's kids will say that in a generation or two. it's all nostalgia. Nothing but emotion. Professor B. sucks to be awake doesnt it?
Hooligan such language you have sir
oh my God, I had forgotten about this - I still remember random sounds and voices and images wow
I always used to pretend to be sick to my parents, and I heard this when my grandma used to mind me, and she knew I wasn't sick, but we both danced to the music when this show aired! "Spicy salty, sour sweet, bring us something good to eat!"
I pretended too. My mom came home once and heard me singing this. She couldn't choose between furious me faking sick or the fact I liked a kids show
LOL Very sneaky 😆
This show came out the exact day I was born and it was my older brother’s favorite show growing up. He loved Batly.
Batly is a stark reminder of where my sense of humor started from as a young child.
This show was the tops on Nick Jr. I woke up everyday as a kid to try and watch this during the summer of 92.
Oh God I wish that There was a Network That Only Airs Awesome Shows Like This One, and Cartoons, Because Kids Today Don't Even Know What They're Missing, All There Is Now On TV Is Crappy Shows.
Man I never missed an episode of this, when I heard this theme I came running.
Can believe RL Stine was the main writer of this show
I had no idea!
What?
Yep. Credited as Jovial Bob, the future writer who gave everyone Goosebumps head wrote & co-created this puppet series using veteran Muppeteers freelancing from the main Jim Henson projects.
Omg I forgot all about this show!!!! Goosebumps!!!! My childhood!!!
Same dude who created goosebumps did this as well. Crazy.

@@inuyasha989 damn right
Bog and Quagmire enough said. I loved this show :)
Bog and Quagmire
This was my shit back in the 90's, now for some reason it's freaking me the fuck out
Exact same feeling...
Thumbs up if you just excavated your childhood too.
i wish i could be a kid for one day again
OMG so many memories. loved this as a kid
Fun fact: R.L. Stine, writer of the goosebumps books was the head writer and Co-creator of this show.
life was so much simpler bank then... Suddenly you find yourself, 33 years old married with 3 children of your own
1:45 for Magellan's laugh XD
I loved this show as a kid!!! It brings back some serious memories :)
I could never figure out if Eureeka was supposed to have horns on her head, or if they were something else.
Bogge did call her "Horn Head" in one episode (they were having a name calling contest).
Huh. They must be horns then. Thanks.
Could be horns or a head piece like Rita Repulsa from Power Rangers.
I watched this all the time when I was like 5-9 yrs old....... I'm 31 now....... Yeah 😒😧👵
"I meant to do that." --Batly
I remember when I used to watch this every day when I was five. Twenty years later, it still puts a smile on my face! :)
Memories!!!
I used to watch this when I was a little girl. Oh the memories... Thanks for sharing.
errybody like , "Holy shit! Look at all this fuckin food! She actually did it, holy shit!" lmao
Holy crap, I was just thinking about this the other day but I couldn't remember the name of the show and I went to Google and punched in "Elmira's Castle" and it showed me this and my jaw dropped because I was starting to think it was like "Candle Cove" and I only imagined it!
Did you know? Noel MacNeal who played Magellan on Eureekas Castle also played Bear from Bear In The Big Blue House!!!!
Did you know noel macneal who played magellan from eureekas castle also played bear from bear in the big blue house
Lol oh wow...I used to love Batley "I meant to do that." Oh to be a kid again.
Omg!!! I remember this!!! Why isn't this on Dvd I would totally buy it!
+Nocturnal Nikkole right! no one i know remembers this epic show! guess i need new friends
EYE SNAPZ Lol I know it's like no one remembers this but they all know Bananas in Pajamas where I'm at.
***** Hiya it does depend on age too. This show brings back so many memeories for me. Lol your last sentence is too hilarious :D
I know, Nocturnal. I would too buy it in a New York second.
omg this brought me waaaaaay back.
My brother just found at a goodwill, a Batley from Pizza Hut, and I couldn't believe it. Can't believe this was 20+ years ago.
Eureeka's Castle, I remember this show. Talk about your childhood flashbacks.
I was born in 88 and watched this shit all the time, My reaction to seeing this just now for the first time since maybe 1992 was, "Holy fuck." I remembered most of the parts especially the slugs talking to each other for some reason.
I remember being like 6, 7, 8 yrs old and wanting to stay home from school so I could watch this. Too bad there was no DVR back then!
There were programmable VCRs.
i'll always, always love Eureeka's Castle and Jim Henson
This is the show that got me into peanut butter sandwiches. I remember chanting that little spell whenever I'm making a snack... Ahh good times... good times...
Adventures of the Little Koala, Noozles, Fred Plenner's Place, and Maya the Bee
Maybe I can trade this big piece of chocolate cake for some extra spaghetti!
Nickelodeon used to be cool
I used to be so scared of this show when I was little and I don't understand why
I had completely forgotten about this
How?
omg i cant believe this is here.. i miss this show! how awesome you put it up! thank you! great memories
Were the voice actors also the puppetiers?
I know I'm a little late, but yes, they were!
Eureeka's Castle was one of My Favorite TV shows growing up.
The fish used to creep me out...and they still do.
The fish were da bomb, lol
This was my son's favorite show when he was a toddler to older. He had a lineup. Maya the Bee, this show, Graham and Lois Show with the Elephant, David the Gnome, and something else that I can't remember. My youngest grandson is 10 months old and when I was feeding him one time, I was singing "picnic time, picnic time", and my daughter goes what's that? I told her that her older brother loved that show and I loved that song, so I looked it up so she could hear it. My grandson likes it, my daughter, not so much. But, she's a party pooper anyway. She likes rap and hip hop :( blech!!
its only now i realize how wondrous yet terrifying this show was.
This brought back great memories of when I was a kid!!!
holy shit
It has been forever since I last saw an episode of Eureeka's Castle. I loved watching this on Nick Jr. ...And I wish Nick Jr. would air this today, since they have that one special of "The 90s Were All That" on Nickelodeon, and airs reruns of Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, Wiernerville, Double Dare, and other popular shows from Nickelodeon that aired during the 90s. With all popular shows from Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., I think they should create a newer Nick channel for these 80s and 90s shows.
When I was a very little kid. I thought Batly and David Cross were the same person.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I think I was in Junior High when this show first aired. I loved it, I thought it was so cute! I never told anyone that I watched it though! But I'll say it now, I LOVE EUREEKA'S CASTLE!!!!
I love eureekas castle
I miss this show. Does anyone remember the bee cartoon that came on after this?
Maya the Bee?
aww thank you soooo much! :*
thinprincess87
Fred Pennar's Place
maya the bee, salute your shorts, are you afraid of the dark, noozels little bits!
Omg this was my all time favorite show as a kid! So glad I grew up in the 90's!
At Universal Studios, And Also The Set Of Eureeka's Castle would have The Characters Of This Show Too, and It'll have Pictures of every single Old School Nickelodeon Cartoon Show too.
not sure why twilight sparkle comes to mind when i think of eureeka.. bah, eureeka will always be win win
If I had a billion dollars, I would have a mansion and those three fish on the front door saying, "Rob is the master".
OH MY GOD! I REMEMBER this show! I recognize the bat and a bunch of the little critter type things. Thank god for youtube and keeping such great shows alive!
moncler created this show uploaded from Bentley television film equipment
batley sounds like filburt
the giant sounds like bebop
eureeka sounds like gloria stivick
Who else thought Cooey was the cutest thing? She was one of my favorite characters on the show.
The fact that dinosaur's tail has a mind of it's own always freaked me out.
You mean Magellan? By the way, he is actually a dragon.
I couldn't watch this show because of my religiously fanatical parents. :'(
I remember being 2 in 1992, watching this only for the intro and outro music.
At 17 in early 2008, I daydreamed of having Eureeka ride with me in leather on my Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Eureeka driving and me behind her. X3 (yeah, it's taking me a while to grow up XD)
-sigh-Even though I'm straight in every way, I have always loved cute castles and pretty dragons like Spyro, yet I'm a wild leather-wearing biker with my own Harley biker group.
Brings me back to childhood...memories:)
Eureeka's Castle, Little Bear, Maya The Bee, David The Knome, Busy World of Richard Scary...cant forget about Face.
RL Stine created this, of all people.
Also, Jim Henson had no hand in this. You'd think.
memorabilia non existent object noticed of past ; novelty reproduced or cultural save
my goodness...this was my most favorite childhood cartoon! this makes me so happy 😁
A perfect ending to a fun show: with food. Who's hungry? :D
Man, I'm gettin' old...
My family still calls me Eureeka, because it's kind of like Erica (my name obvs), and I would watch this shit religiously when I was a kid lol.
