these dudes are all about the music, no pretension or trying hard. pure vibes
They came to Chicago a while back and everyone loved them; they were so humble and appreciative. They put on one of the greatest shows I've ever seen; If you ever get a chance to see them live, do it asap.

I read that some of the band members had very little experience and undeveloped technical skills when they formed, and so had to keep the music simple. Well, their talent shines through, and it didnt take them long to become supremely proficient. Such beautiful and original and inspiring music!
I bet Syd Barrett would have loved these boys!

Saw these guys at Desert Daze for their last show. So bittersweet. The amount of talent and vibes coming off that stage was amazing to witness
missed this show and was depressed, but I happened to have made a trip to Mexico City a few months ago and they are playing with Black Angels, Mars Volta, Osees, Still Corners, Primus among others, get to see them before they head on in the distance
was there as well so glad I was lucky enough to experience it but sad that it will be the one and only time I can see them.
I was legit crying the entire show.
I saw them at the fest where lighting was cracking behind them.
A band I will tell my future generation about consistently
@@jjdagostino Was there too! Travelled from El Salvador, awesome to see international peeps that made it there. Great lineup, sadly shitty sound from some bands, but luckily we got a nice treatment for Kikagaku.

One of the best neo-psych bands. Rare technique and complexity for the genre, not to mention thoughtful structure, nice groove and great melodies
Seem like the kindest, coolest, most badass dudes ever. Wish I could've seen them out in the desert somewhere.
I've been turnt to this band during quarantine. I love Khruangbin, and one the other fans pushed me in this direction.

@@fnln1108 think you will be OK. Their website says the 2022 tour is the final one. "After much discussion between the five of us at the end of last year, we have decided to go on an indefinite hiatus after 2022. This means 2022 will be our last year as Kikagaku Moyo."
I guess because the industry, or this genre, is not really rewarding. 😔

When I first saw these doods, I remember coming away with a Black Sabbath vibe from their jams. They can get so heavy, but then so mellow and soothing its fantastic.

Waking up at 6am on a Saturday to go to work, this show really buttered my bread. Such talent. We used to listed to these guys while driving through the Clackamas River valley- hawks flying overhead, pine trees on the cliffs
So glad I’m a fan of these guys. So grateful to see them towards the end of their time together on the West coast since 2022! Such a meditative sound and really good to get me in a positive, peaceful, and genuinely happy mindset!

I saw these guys back in 2014 at the Shacklewell Arm in London, playing to a packed room of 100 or so people. Such a great gig!! The lead guitarist snapped a string towards the end (during Zo No Senaka) & asked if anybody in the room had a spare guitar. Bless!!
We'll be seeing them next week in Leipzig, this time at an outdoor gig, and I can't wait. Super talented, super humble & they look cool as fuck too!

Wow! This is only the second time that I've listened to this band and both times I was blown away. What an eclectic sound they make. Pink Floyd meets Radiohead, Parliament-Funkadelic and a Japanese dude....they all get stoned and create something beyond cool or beautiful. Oh shit! Then you guys come at me with some Steely Dan type groove that absolutely jazzed me to the bone. What a wonderful band.
A smooth transition from Grateful dead to this band I just met! Wow great sound, I'm high!

Greetings from the 2020 pandemic! I miss live music. Seen these guys a total of 3 times in and around LA. 3 of the best gigs I've ever been to. Thank you for bringing us all a little comfort and joy. Until I can see KM for a fourth time!

Ahhh nice one! I saw Crumb last year too in London and they're one of my favourite bands ever but they seemed like they were having an off night on the night I saw them. I'm definitely going to see them again if I get chance though. Where did you see them?

@@samramone Yeah I think they were near the end of a longish European tour when I saw them so they were probably just tired. Hope they come back to Europe soon, I think their best is yet to come!

This live performance is so amazing.
Hey ya’ll I recommend doing mushrooms and listening to this band. One of the best trips of my life.
Kikagaku Moyo is so, so good on shrooms. The cavernous 'Lazy Stoned Monk'. And Silver Owl's warm and cozy psychedelic embrace. Listening to Old Snow White Sun, is feeling pure unbridled love. Oh and the contemplative, meditative vibe that comes off of Melted Crystal. And I remember hearing Dune for the first time ever when I regained my ego during a trip. It felt like I could take on the world.
I think the fact that a lot of people are tuning into this highly psychedelic music, despite it not being considered mainstream music, is telling a whole lot about the Western Zeitgeist.
And even though I'm a smug elitist when it comes to music, it pleases me to feel how people are catching on, waking up, and exploring their consciousness.
I'm tripping with my gf in a few days, and I have a few of their songs on a playlist I made. Including the two near 20 minute songs they just released. Can't wait tbh
