You are still the man, sharing and spreading your magic wherever you go. I enjoy watching you create magic and the fun you have producing it. Please keep it coming. Thanks
We have double footage! So much gets cut from either guys video. Watching both is like an unfair joy! Is that bad for my soul? DON"T care...watching all of it!
I’m raising one (and pouring far too many out) for all the ‘Uncle Dave’s I’ve encountered. Their patience and the knowledge they passed on made so many things possible
Hello Hello From Canada!!! That area that you added the mounting brackets is probably the strongest area on the whole frame with all the breaks, mods, chopping here and cutting there that has been done over that poor truck's life. I love the entire setup you created and I think it looks like a mechanical sculpted work of art, which has made me really look forward to seeing more episodes on the channel. I hope you stay safe, stay healthy and are as happy as you possibly can be in all your future endeavors. 🤘😁👍
How you still dont have a show on MT is unbelievable. Your knowledge, your laid back, yet humorous personality, is so much more fun to watch than more than a few of the folks who are still making shows.
MT simply(?) needs to get some different but entertaining, knowledgeable with the character to seduce the camera. The old style loudmouth bodgers have been done to death. Dave could be the guy.
These two are some of the best builders, ever! Dave can build an entire care from nothing in 2 days. Derek can do the wiring and brakes in between all of the fab work! What a perfect team to build a cool vehicle!
Dude. Dave is like a bouncing mechanical / fabricating legend. Between being an incredible fill in with the Motortrend teams, and VGG and everything, and still knocking it out at his own Dirthead Shed. What an absolute boss, I greatly enjoy seeing your name pop up in my feed, across multiple channels. Cheers!
I love it! Two great dudes just doing cool airbag and engine swap stuff in the shop. When Derek referred to you as 'uncle Dave' to Bentley, that made me proud. Derek and Jess have done such an amazing job balancing cartube and parenting the boys....and to know that they consider you as part of the family, that speaks volumes about you and them. I'd love to see a round 2 for front bagging. BAG ALL THE THINGS!!!!
Dave I remember when you and 4xFred had a show on motortrend i think? I can't believe you don't have more subscribers on here. Love your content and energy. Thanks for the videos.
That is so cool watching both pages and seeing the difference between them and getting more information about the build. It's also get to see builders teaching other builders different quality's of their trade. Great job Dave
That's amazing! Dave strolls into VGG waves his hands and BAM....... 4 link in the VGG 35 ford! Dust's off his shoulder's and say's thanks for having me! Amazing Dave!
What a fantastic channel and the talent you possess is immediately evident both in fabrication but also in explaining the process with a good amount of humor too!
great colaboration and great build, you make fabricating a custom rear suspension look easy, just kidding ,that was a ton of knowledge and skill there , congrats and looking forward to more !
I AGREE! I don't know what I'm doing...but LOVE seeing a guy that does! I even like some musicians that aren't my thing...but are awesome at it. Respect the skills :)
56:20 I would imagine the frame would be breathing a sigh of relief more and saying "Wow...I haven't felt this sturdy since I rolled off the assembly line!" I'm stoked to see this truck done more than any other project. This is the top of my list for projects I want to build in my lifetime. I hope I can get there one day. Would love to see some tasteful, old school pinstriping on it with the OG pinstripe Vice Grip Garage logo on the doors.
I really enjoy watching two guys with all the knowledge having such a good time and the results look amazing. The best part is the sharing of how things come together. As an old mechanic/welder couldn’t be more pleased. Thanks!!!!
Hey Dave, a few months back when you did your Mustang 2’s four link you inspired me to 4 link and airbag my 63’ Ford Falcon and it came out awesome, it rides great and will lay the crossmember on the ground if you want it to, I just wanted to say thanks for the content and I’ve learned a ton from you!! -Bill
The two of you should do more calibration videos in the future. Your personalities and areas of expertise work so well together! Awesome job on the truck as well!
The acetylene bottle on fire was a surprise! Definitely raised your blood pressure I’m Shure! Really like the brace behind and under the axle! Nice teamwork!
I was hoping this video would fill in some blanks from the @vicegripgarage video I watched last night and it didn't disappoint. They book end each other well. Great content all the way around.
wOw you guys absolutely smashed that out! Added entertainment with torchgas fire and Argon shortages, personal injury and the great French debate? Nailed it :-)
Thank vice grip garage you got another subscriber Derrick suggested you I'll definitely take his word that you're worth watching looking forward to watching fabricating
Always appreciate you , Dave, as an outstanding human being , as well as a top notch fabricator. Your on the fly engineering skills together with the great fabrication chops make a great video.
Dave, you and Derek @ViceGripGarage are some awesome dudes. The episode was a little long but you were thrashing through a bunch of stuff. Well done. Keep up the good work fellas.
What an awesome truck and some great fabrication skills make it even better, got to be my favorite build so far, great work guy's and I can't wait to see it rip up the road ❤❤
I can’t believe that Acetylene bottle cooked off like that, has to be the craziest shop mishap I’ve ever seen and I’m glad nobody blew up because the safety valve worked
Yeah, that's serious shit. Acetylene is easy to ignite (second only to hydrogen as far as I know) and the flammability limit is from 2.5 - 83%, very wide. Any mixture in that range is a bomb. If you look at the numbers there probably wasn't any real danger. Even my two car garage at 20 x 20 x 10 is 4000 cubic feet. It would take 100 cubic feet of acetylene to reach the 2.5% lower flammability limit. That assumes an even mixture, so potentially it could take less acetylene as it will rise because it's lighter than air, though the are really close in density. Derek's shop is huge so that little tank probably wasn't a problem, but I surely wouldn't have waited around. Opening the doors and getting it outside immediately is the right call. The MSHA and companies like Air Products have information online about acetylene. It is seriously dangerous above 2.5% in air.
@@Fix_It_Again_Tony yeah but it technically could have done what firefighters call a BLEVY or something like that where the safety valve doesn’t work the leak that originally ignited causes the bottle pressure to increase to the failure point which is catastrophic. Modern bottles have a safety valve that allows it to burn off pressure instead of going catastrophic which in this situation is why it continued to burn even though they turned off the main valve because built in safety valve allowed it bleed off the over pressure caused by the bottle heating up
@@Fix_It_Again_Tony that’s why I never fool around with old bottles people find in the back of garages that have been in there for who knows how many decades and if they have the safety valves. People ask if I want them and I just say no thanks

I thought the boards with all the nails was the dangerous part of the video! Hope Derek was up on his shots; lock jaw is real.
I've never been much of a dirt guy so Dave never really got on my radar. Lately I've seen him doing some impressive fabrication on other's projects and between the work he does and the way he comes across on camera I've become a fan. Watching him with Derek amounts to watching the two nicest guys on UA-cam doing their thing.
When Derek bought that Versailles, the first thing I thought about was the rear axle was probably the best part of the car. Glad it got reused. Great work, Dave...as usual.
Thanks for helping Dave! Had such an awesome time!
Such a great episode
It was a blur of laughter and margaritas.
If all Dave's and Derek's subscribers sub to both, you both hit 2 million!
+1 came from VGG
My two favorite bolt turner guys... can't wait to see you guys do more together.
It's a lot of fun watching the Vicegrip video first and then yours and filling the blanks in the conversations. 😂
Was thinking the same exact thing!😂
Just did the same
same here 😆
Yup, me too.
lol!! Same here!!
So glad Derek is doing collabs and helping boost up other car guys channels. Helps move the projects along while also building up other channels.
Yeah this was cool. So was the Fairlane video with Tony Angelo from Stay Tuned. It’s cool seeing all my favorite dudes are actually buddies.
Dave just casually whippin up a triangulated 4 link air bag setup, goals!
Actually made me believe it must be easy, haha
@@growlith6969 if you don’t think about it, everything is just that easy.
Him referring to you as uncle Dave was a really nice moment
You are still the man, sharing and spreading your magic wherever you go. I enjoy watching you create magic and the fun you have producing it. Please keep it coming. Thanks
It’s a pretty good gig!
I will never use any of this but I do enjoy the work you do and thank you for sharing it. Great video
This is where Derek shows his brilliance. He had someone come to help with this job that is great at what he does.
Great job guys!!
the sit down food trips on those build-and-thrash with friends is probably my favorite part.
Yep. Worth the down time
Awesome job! Dave you are great and a great big thank you for helping Derek!
Thank you. It was a fun week
You two are absolute gold together!!
Thanks! It’s always fun working with Derek
Holy cow, am I dreaming? My two favorite guys in the same video
Agreed, great synergy and energy - and the humor is perfect. My favorite the is the Christmas music reference. Still laughing.
