I know all about that. I didn’t bboy though. I skateboarded and surfed, always pushing myself to better myself. Oh and climbing many railway fences to get up. My hips, my knees, my ankles and feet don’t really like me anymore. I believe it was worth it

I'm 55. I'm so glad I saw stuff like this live. So glad I did, even a little of it, so glad the energy existed and so glad this has been preserved to enjoy all over again.
The good ole days .....im so glad that i loved B Boying and Metal back in the 80s .....best of both worlds .....one weekend at a Slayer show next weekend at The Funhouse .
I was 10 living in Los Angeles when my uncle's who were in their early 20s would show up during our birthday parties with their friends and breakdance to these songs. Great memories!
This takes me back. Others who never were in this era may laugh at the skills but this was the foundation and this was where we started to add moves to change or be better. My sister laughs at this and of course, I get mad because she doesn't understand the limited skills we had at that time. We all thought we were fresh and we were but others were better than us. Battles and practice is how we expanded. Now, you have these breakers who are awesome but they throw in a lot of gymnastic moves, more flexibility, and creativity.
@@Boxtruckin loved her music. My sister would take us skating & all the kids who could skate really well would always over perform on songs like this. I mustve been 8-9 yrs old. I remember the 1st time I heard "the world class wrecking crue" song & them singing about sex. 😂 I loved over & saw my sister , 14-15 & she's singing w her friends & the boys & all. I just KNEW my pop was gonna kill us! Didn't know how he'd find out but I knew it was death lol.. I miss Philadelphia in '83-84🌹💘
This was me from 16 to about 23..break dancing everyday up stairs with my crew ...we won 1st place at 2 competitions..i was the 2nd best in my high school😎I can still bust a windmeal an im 41 now yesssiirrr only 1 tho lol Good timess!!!!
Dude, just the other day I thought to my self,I bet I can still do the worm on the floor, not a fucking chance, shoulders were giving out and back wasnt flexible enough, harsh reality ...
Some of these moves are actually harder to do slower. This is awesome to watch. These moves are way better than the moonwalk that everyone went crazy over.
your correct....this is a lot of more technically difficult than it looks. I was shocked at 1984, we only got some of those moves much later here in the UK. Headlclicks for example, double windmills, headglides....all tough to execute, especially slow like that.
hawaiidispenser in nowadays Bboyin vids, elbow spins aren’t so rare, but to see an elbow spin in the 80s, from someone not in the Asian community(for example, IBOTY champions are usually Korea o Japan)was sick!🤙🏼
hawaiidispenser - Hawaii had bboys that could do it back in 83' 😎 so I'm sure there were many others also. Emiliano Martinez - FYI, no disrespect to your comment, but the first BOTY wasn't until 1990 so how could there have been Asian bboys doing elbow spins during the early 80's at the BOTY's. HIP-HOP YA DON'T STOP!
hawaiidispenser - yo, UA-cam search "Style Never Dies" its a vid of Hawaii's bboys messing around in a nightclub. This may not show the "best moves" or "epic battles", but at least u get an idea of how we compared at that same time frame. HIP-HOP YA DON'T STOP!
Yo I feel you all on this and always feel you on this. Cause I used to do the same thing back in the 80's and I was down with the Newark funny break's the 80's was the best and always be the best of all times. I wish I could still can do it but I can't now cause I'm to old now. Feel me. February 2_2020
Crazy how breaking styles and breaking music has changed. I remember in ‘84 seeing breaking dancing like this and my mind being blown. Now that I see this video, even though these guys are clearly talented but for today’s standards they would get killed in a battle!
El rap bace del disco 1979-80, después el brekdance y despues del hip -hop, aquí ae observa las bases de los que será el baile de los Poppers nace en New York para todo y son los bailarines americanos los pioneros de este género.
For real, all I had in my backpack in high school was a homemade radio with a motorcycle battery and an amp hooked up to a disk man and my beanie so I could spin faster on the gym floor. They kicked us breakers out of the gym after we put armor all on the floor to spin better and some poindexter slipped and busted his head
Dynamic Rockers.. Glyde, Kid Freeze, Spider, Airborne, Flip, Kano, Duce, Nelly Nell, Wavy Legs.. Eddie Ed (Kid Spy) started the crew. This group you see in this footage was actually the spin off of group Dynamic Breakers.
I am 46 from RUS it was a great time, Tank you, USA, for Break Dance !
This is song is actually “give me tonight.. “takes me back to my childhood ❤
I love the one in the red pants at the end...So much rhythm and such fun....those were
the really good old days....the best...❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember when i used to dance like this. Now i can't put on my socks without pulling a muscle.
Yup
I know all about that. I didn’t bboy though. I skateboarded and surfed, always pushing myself to better myself. Oh and climbing many railway fences to get up.
My hips, my knees, my ankles and feet don’t really like me anymore.
I believe it was worth it
Lollllll
We are all getting old and would pull muscles if I tried dancing like I used 2..lol but back in the day was a pop and lock master!!
Lol classic call" I hear yah!
The great years!!! The best years!!!! I carry this in my heart for ever!!!long live the 80s🕺🏼
80's were the BEST years ever! We hung out with some of the dancers from the movie Breakin'
Racist

If I had a time machine one of the times I'd go to would surely be that one, I didn't have a chance to live those years and that would be really cool

The elbow spin..and helicopter onto head! Fantastic.

They were amazing
Give Me Tonight (Classic Song). Thank you for sharing One Of The Elements Of Hip-Hip!!! Definitely Brings Back Memories.....
This isn’t hip-hop music. It’s called freestyle Music
nibble on deez nuts You are right! I was referring to break dancing as a form of Hip Hop, not the song. Break Dancing is an element of Hip Hop
@@nibbleondeeznuts2244 Mainstream Freestyle at that 👍

Cruz Control I came to comments to say this too about Shannon Green
@@Boxtruckin loved her music. My sister would take us skating & all the kids who could skate really well would always over perform on songs like this. I mustve been 8-9 yrs old. THIS IS OLD SCHOLL BABY!! Awesome video!
I wish I could this again, but now everything hurts!!! Falling apart!!!
The biggest pain in life is looking at yourself in the mirror and not being able to do what you could do years ago
I tried doing the 6-step. Easiest breaking move we could do, somehow ended up hurting my shoulders 😂😂
So true same here lol.
For real. Use to bust a move, now I just bust my head
Dude, just the other day I thought to my self,I bet I can still do the worm on the floor, not a fucking chance, shoulders were giving out and back wasnt flexible enough, harsh reality ...
Now see watching this reminds why I got joint problems now... lol!!!

That was awesome 😎
& bro Dave : those katz is awesome ✌️
Thank you
I don't understand why rock steady crew became so famous. Dynamic rockers were by far the best at the time
It was a manager issue. Dynamic even came up with a record (song).
It’s so dang sad we have to get old and not be able to dance like we use to. But believe me I still try once in a while
3:15 Never saw an elbow spin in all my life. Cool.
