From Canterbury to Buller - Coal Train No. 847 (HD)

Here we follow empty coal train no. 847 from Christchurch city across the Canterbury Plains and into the spectacular Southern Alps on the world famous Midland Line. The train turns off the Midland Line at Stillwater for the journey along the Stillwater - Ngakawau Line where we see some spectacular West Coast scenery including the Buller River Gorge near Westport. This is New Zealand's Coal Route and coal is taken from the Stockton mine at Ngakawau and travels along here to Christchurch's port of Lyttelton and is exported overseas. Enjoy some of New Zealand's most stunning scenery and the sound of the DX diesel electric locomotives!
