    I have a 1985 Honda Big Red, and a 1992 Suzuki Quad Runner LT4WD. Both are 250cc, and both run great. I like the older machines because most of them have a backup kick starter (Big Red) or a recoil pull starter (LT4WD). I use both of them for firewood retrieval.

    Jay I have a 2001 yamaha big bear ,I can tell you they are super reliable ,first gear is extremely low and great for pulling heavy loads through the woods. My bear is used for work around my house and land and I would not trade it for any other 4 wheeler In my opinion it is perfect , be careful enjoy it .

      Hey Jeff! I couldn’t agree more. I love the older more simple stuff! This thing handles all my needs I have on the homestead. Anything from pulling logs, plowing, to even moving a motorcycle trailer lol you got that right about first gear haha it’s a creeper gear for sure! I plan on keeping this for a long time. No need to sell! Please subscribe to the channel if you are not!

    I’ve got a 1998 big bear 350 it was a 4x4 front drive shaft isn’t in anymore so it’s a 2 wheel drive now but compared so much Polaris ranger it can go almost everywhere that ranger can go no problem! I love that atv

      Hey Ben! Seriously lol so nice. I am a man of simplicity. I’d take something 25 years older that I can work on versus something 2021 that’s buried in electronics/relays/ switches etc.... old school mechanics are the way to go!

    Not bashing the guy but, NEVER buy a used ATV. My story: bought a 2007 Honda Foreman 500 4x4, parts have been discontinued, no cooling tank only fan, went to the beach and my bike got overheated because older ATV dont have cooling tanks, parts that you can actually find are expensive, no more plastics are made to replace old ones, rust start to build up due to age. New ones are expensive, I would get a 2015m these have nice cooling tanks no more overheating nd you can still get parts for them.

    • @HomesteadJay
      @HomesteadJay  3 роки тому

      You make solid points about making sure you can get parts for sure. luckily for this machine I can still get stuff for it. Good tips thanks for sharing

    • @302mustanggt8
      @302mustanggt8 3 роки тому +1

      I can get just about any part for my forman 400 yeah some parts like plastics and bumpers you have to buy used but there's nice used things out there check ebay and you don't need them and part that is needed you can get easy if anything just get new refurbished stuff or fix the things yourself

      Hey Raze! I’d check Facebook market place. Keep an eye out just driving around you never know what you may find sitting in someone’s yArd. Doesn’t hurt to ask if it’s for sale. I also ask around maybe to friends and family you never know who may know someone who’s got something! Don’t be afraid to get something that may need some tinkering. Working on them isn’t hard work really!
