It really needed to happen. This ride is historic and it would be so sad to see it left to time. They could totally have done this on an off year of building a new coaster and done the whole ride and had like a re-release of it and I would be thrilled but I’ll take sections at a time lol
I first rode the Minebuster on the opening weekend in May 1981. The coaster has certainly become a rougher ride over the years. I will be 72 years young this year and I am looking forward to riding the new improved Minebuster with my granddaughter!
Back in the 90s it was my favourite coaster in the whole park, so it would be nice to be able to ride it again without all the crazy roughness that it's developed over the decades. Now if only they could reverse the changes that were made for the water park...
I don't know the specifics, but the outbound hills are less aggressive and air-timey than they were originally, so that they could put that footbridge to the wave pool area over top of it. :(
One of the biggest problems with Minebuster compared to Grizzly is just how Minebuster interacts with the water park. It's hard to do too much, as there isn't much vertical space.
They did a phenomenal job already on Grizzly at Kings Dominion. It went from one of the worst coasters in the country into one of the best wood coaster of the east coast.
I remember this thing with the 3 hills which gave it a lot more airtime and a much better ride experience. Hopefully that is what's happening along with reprofiling other sections of the ride to increase it's pace and airtime as that's what this layout should excel at. Above all, it needs to be much smoother than its current state. It's unrideable to me.
I haven't ridden Minebuster in years because of the cramped cars and bone-shaking experience. I would be very willing to give it another shot. Speaking about bone-shaking -- is there any updated news on Dragon Fyre?
i read an article that came up in my feed that made it look like they were tearing it down. it's always been one of the coolest rides there imo. i always thought half the fun was how jerky and clunky it was, it's called the minebuster after all. but hey, if it's better for the structure and they might make steeper drops i'm all for it.
I don’t think it’s so much the track but the tiny cars that do the most damage to the rider and being a 6’2” tall man it’s like being a canned sardine even without a second rider in the car
While we're happy, And going to love that new 1000 feet of track, will thr 2nd feel like a car accident. Brandon- Do you think they will re-track the entire ride? Alpen has gone vertical😊
I think the abuse from this ride added to its character since it lacks height and speed of the steel rides...but let's talk Wilde beast...that is a spine buster
Agreed. It was painful, it felt like you're actually stupid for riding it, like some real danger and roughness. Felt like you were on a ride from the late 1800s early 1900s lol
I have always hated this ride and every time I would get off this ride I would have a very bad headache but after seeing this it looks like it would be soooo much better in 2025! Can't wait to ride it next year. 👍
Minebuster needed this so much, I’m 100% excited to see how this turns out! Fingers crossed for 3 outbound hills again.
or just some good floater airtime
Or the horrendous helix - that could be so much better
@@AG7-MTM yeah maybe smooth it out. I think even removing it is better than the current form
@@AG7-MTM wait for next winter for that :)
@@AmusementInsidersso the helix may be removed or retracked?
My great grandfather helped design and build this ride. I'm so happy to see that they are giving it a renewal instead of tearing it down.
Good news! It actually seemed to me that Minebuster was getting rougher, almost as bad as Wild Beast. Any improvement in smoothness would be good.
Any improvement to Minebuster is solidifying RMC Wilde Beast
I mean, it was rough in the late 80s early 90s, its been time for a long time lol
Please bring back the third airtime on the Mighty Canadian Minebuster.

Super sick! Our woodies needed refurbishment

Excited for a much smoother Minebuster. Hope they also make the drop steeper.
if it is gravity group, they gotta commit to the banked airtime hill when they get there, 90 degrees would be sick
They need to do some underground tunnels for more speed, excitement, and to make it go into a mine
That's a great idea!

What has changed at the water park? I have never been in it 😅

I’m really excited to see what type of tracks they have for minebuster! I’m also looking forward to riding AlpenFury this year!❤
The Grizzly retrack at Kings Dominion (in video) has made a massive difference and much smoother ride experience.
Ooh that's exciting to hear!
You can tell that guy loves his job and is very good at it too! ☺️
Smoother ride and steeper drop?? Minebuster, you might just REALLY impress me this time. We’ll see. 🤭
if it's gravity group i hope they manage to fit some ejector hills under the water slides!
Bring it on!! Getting my pass now! I thing I'm excited about both! I'll be in both those lines! Can't wait!

We’re getting 2 new coasters in 2025 basically. Also the fact that they are not doing this to wild beast is a good sign for a rmc.
If they got rid of the Go-Kart track, they could really turn it into something amazing like Steel Vengeance or Iron Gwazi
Rmc can’t operate in canada yet
they’ll find a way
Hopefully we will be getting new trains too! 🎉
Spinebuster still going to be used to remove kidney stones?
😂
Thank god, this ride beats the crap out of me every time I get on it.
I always called it the MIND BUSTER 😅😊

Alpen Fury finally going vertical
How do you know?
@@Rollercoasterboi279I think it was more of a question
alpen fury gonna be vertical by 3079!!
Wonderland posted on Facebook that the supports were going up, with pictures
@@turtlemaster890 oh, that’s amazing!

When will they have the refurb finished, i'm heading to the park in August this year
Half of it will be done for open this year and the second half will be done next winter
That’s awesome. All this could totally save the coaster and is certainly less $ than a ground up new woodie.
@@AmusementInsiders Making it a must-ride for 2026
It needed a good retrack
Would`ve loved to have GCI Titan track, but this sounds good, too
I can not wait to ride Minebuster this year It was fine last year but this year is going to be so much better for minebuster!
Excited to see what they do with Minebuster and hopefully Wilde Beast will get a new treatment in the future too.
If only they fixed the carts so people over 120 lbs can sit comfortably
Ooh this is so exciting!! I wonder if I can finally raise my hands up on Minebuster...
I don’t think it’s so much the track but the tiny cars that do the most damage to the rider and being a 6’2” tall man it’s like being a canned sardine even without a second rider in the car
I'm glad they chose Minebuster so they can RMC Wilde Beast within 5 years (unless RMC goes under, in which case the world will end)
I'm glad they're doing that. That gave me a headache to be honest. My whole entire body was in pain aching for few days.
While we're happy, And going to love that new 1000 feet of track, will thr 2nd feel like a car accident. Brandon- Do you think they will re-track the entire ride? Alpen has gone vertical😊
Beyond excited. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I really hope it’s Gravity Group they make really good wooden coasters. I hope they can retrack Wilde Beast next.
What elements have been removed over the years?
Use this tech to rebuild The Flyer at The Ex!
Engineered Precut Track is not so new any more. It first appeared on the Racer in 2021!
They are just redoing the original track that the rollercoaster opened with in 1981 before they took it out.
New trains, for new track, yes does not make any sense to keep old ones
I know it isn't likely, but I'd love to see new trains. As a larger rider those PTC trains and I do not get along.
I agree, plus from what I’ve heard heard is they also make the track get rough faster
Yesss Gravity Group!!
My kidneys appreciate this
Hope they hit up Ghoster Coaster next for the kiddos!
thats already pretty smooth, or atleast, smooth enough for it not to be a problem
@@anobject9622yea it’s honestly tolerable.
I’m super excited as well 😁
whats going to happen with the rest of the track?
do they plan on refurbishing the whole thing eventually?
I figured this is what they’d do
My question….why Minebuster and not Wilde Beast? Isn’t Wilde Beast worse?
My guess and prediction is Wilde Beast is in a valuable plot of land for another style of ride. Like RMC perhaps.
It needs new trains, being tall, I can’t fit in the current trains.
Hopefully The Gravity Group retracks Hurler at Carowinds it was still ruff.
The great Canadian Spine Buster
Now do the wild beast next. Can't even ride it anymore without booking a chiro appt after.

Not super excited if its smoother. But a better first drop would be awesome!
I'm so excited love it, new track, new drop length I can't wait to go back on it in june father's day weekend
I.M.O. They should've had RMC come in and reprofile the ride and put some new track on it MCMB.
gone vertical and no update vid?
Too bad RMC didn't do the rebuild.
I just hope they expand the seats to accommodate larger guests
Hybrid coaster?
there installing supports
for alpenfuty
girzly was much smoother
Nice video.
So, you still can't talk about Camp Snoopy eh?
That’s what it is? Is that the area geared to the really littles?
@@Evil_breakfast Bradon is not able to talk about it, but I believe they are building Camp Snoopy in the former Dinosaurs Alive area.
