I was just thinking how empty life has been recently as I need to prepare for dinner this upcoming week which will absolutely include potatoes in various methods of preparation, and then I realized the empty feeling was a lack of Molly, Thank you for being here today Molly!
Totally enjoy your videos and have recommended Bell Farms to several other folks who now also enjoy. You are a gifted teacher Molly and give us such clear and super interesting explanations! And a good idea of just how hard you, Shane and the team work - and WOW do you work and do it with such pride & positive attitudes. Love how you all think heads up, overlap at every step of the way to do whatever needs to be done, and are such amazing problem solvers per your plans and in the instant of which there are many - impressive! Please keep up your much appreciated sharing of expertise, insights and most of all, wholesome giving back. Wishing you, Shane, family and crew absolute best holidays.
Just picked up a bag of potato’s at the grocery store and of course I instantly thought of where they came from etc. this is what your channel has done to me!🤣😂👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
Enjoy watching hard working self employed small businesses I want to congratulate you and Shane hope you can take a few days off for the holidays I too hand a small general contractor business not easy to keep small business going you two deserve a big pat on the back not all Americans are lazy congratulations from an old retired hard working self employed man from northwest PA.
Molly, thank you soooo much for making this video. I have often wondered what the sizes and grades were. I know Chefs, I have made many a meal of them, but the other sizes and grades I did not know. I am glad you included video time of the "supervisor" A.K.A. Bessy. I have to admit that I love your videos, and how your team seems to work so well together, but what REALLY amazes me is that at so point someone with a far greater mind and vision than mine had to sit down and design all the machines that you use. Truly amazing. I know, I'm a machine head. Keep up the great videos and you and Shane and ALL your family have a great and hopefully relaxing holiday season. BTW I look forward every new video that you make. Mike from Mass.
Hey Molly, that was the funniest shot of the year. Bessie using a potato for a pillow...lol. Merry Christmas to you, the family, and the entire crew from Texas.
Thank you for your video. You’re doing a great job and we always appreciate what you do and we enjoy your videos very much thank you. Wishing you the best holiday season. Bill and Sue. Glen Burnie MD
Thanks for all the sizing information. It helps to understand your customers and what they want to buy. Also that your searching for new potatoes varieties.
Looking good, The bagger really moves potatoes into bags quickly and keeps the crew busy. I'll be heading to Market Basket for some yellows, they look scrumptious. Happy Holidays and a good potato year in 2025!!!
It's hard to beat some good fried potatoes, or even baked. 😅 Molly those white potatoes are beautiful. 😊 Keep on Farming, you are helping feed America 🇺🇸
I hauled a few loads of taters for this farm. Some of the nicest people I've ever met. Had me loaded and gone in no time, and for a driver, that's a very good thing. We don't get paid to sit in a dock door.
I like watching your videos I worked for a potato and onion packing plant in MN Metro packaging as a maintenance technician for 20 years retired, 1200 volm pack , hammer , kwik loc ,spudnik and any thing that had to do with packing worked on it all
Molly, you and your family have a Merry Christmas. I was kinda close on my guess for you by the end of the year, said you may hit 60k but 53-54K is pretty dang good too.
Thank you so much! And yes you have been pretty close! Pretty much right on from your guess. Thank you for following and sticking with me so long! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season
Shane and Molly, Merry Christmas to you and all your Bells Farms folks. I am itching to grow some of those potatoes in my garden, but white seed potatoes are unheard of in Arkansas.
Thank you for another great video. I feel a little more knowledgeable about the types of potatoes. Not quite ready to grade potatoes but I got a good idea. As always you look great, and the business is booming. Keep up the great videos and great looking SPUDS. LOL
Shane was everywhere; everywhere! We generally use B size yellow for all our potato dishes for the 2 of us. For the holidays when family comes to dinner, typically we buy a bag or two of A size russets.
Personally don't like yeller or gold potatoes, but the yellow you had graded and looked very good. Molly, you need a cute little Miss Santa outfit for your Christmas video, ya know, something smokin hot that would make Mr. Clause (Shane) blush...tis the season. Merry Christmas to everyone 💋
Yay. My favorite lady is back again with more tater tales. You got streaked? Looks nice. I love you in red and white. Purrfect. You sure keep that dog busy following you around there.
The really small ones that fall through the screen - where I live they are typically used when serving lunch in restaurants. They are prepared so the restaurant only need put them in a baking pan in the oven to serve fried in butter. I think it is great great use of what would otherwise be used to feed animals.
I know selling the potatoes is the most important time for you guys. Its when you actually make the majority of your money for the year...but it also looks like the most tedious part of farming too. Washing and sorting and bagging and stacking, inside a cold building with no windows. Im sure its all worth it to support the farm, but i bet spring and planting season can't come soon enough! 😂
Hahahah! Well I’m glad someone gets it! All joking aside, you are 100% correct. Although it is tedious and monotonous, it is really how we get paid. Short days, and yes cold building with no windows gets old quick. But having pride in seeing your crop get washed and bagged is rewarding! Thank you!
Cool to see how much care you'all put into handling the taters as gently as possible. The bagged ones available at our So Calif store look like they were harvested with a roto tiller.
@BellsFarming I can check Monday. They are non reflective. They had to change the code in the plc. It took Volm a day and a half to figure it out Our other volmpack had a different plc so my boss did the programming on that one. I went to the place where the assemble the volmpacks and asked them if they are putting sensors on the new machines and they still aren't doing it. I don't why they wouldn't have that on every machine.
We buy the B size potatoes. Personal preference, only. Great for home fries, potato salad, and boiled potatoes. Thank you, Molly. Thank you Bell Farms for growing them.
Brilliant thumbnail. You win the internet today!

Who knew watching a Potato Tutorial would be that interesting.! Well Done!

Thank you so much!
I’m a new viewer so I was embarrassed to ask, “What’s a 2?” or “What’s a B?”. This was so helpful.
Wonderfull, thanks Molly.
Shane was everywhere; everywhere! We generally use B size yellow for all our potato dishes for the 2 of us. For the holidays when family comes to dinner, typically we buy a bag or two of A size russets.
Now I know more about potatoe sizes than I ever knew. A's B's, still prefer the DD's.
Love me a new potato video. Love seeing where my food comes from. Merry Christmas to you and the whole Bell’s Farm family.
Good to know ❤ potatoes are very good :) thanks Molly for telling us your grading classes, your amazing!

@ next please do! Happy holidays 🫶
Merry Christmas from Tecumseh Mi.
Great size, expert grading.
We had sensors installed on our volmpacks so it will shut off the side that isnt clipping the bags. It prevents so much headache.
Now that sounds nice. This doesn’t happen all the time, but man it’s gets messy quick. What type of sensors did you go with?
@BellsFarming I can check Monday. They are non reflective. They had to change the code in the plc.
