There is one place on the Ya'an-Xichang Expressway that must be emphasized, that is, the Daxiangling Tunnel that passes through Nibashan Mountain, which has the reputation of "one side of the tunnel is sunny, the other side is foggy".
The Nibashan Daxiangling Tunnel is more than 10 kilometers long, crossing 17 major faults, with a section of more than 1,000 meters buried for 5 kilometers, and a maximum buried depth of 1,650 meters. It is currently the longest complex geological tunnel in the southwest region of China and the deepest in the country.
