9 years later, and I can’t stop coming back to this awesome horror machinima, and the run to the escape pods with MW2 rangers music is just brilliant. Great job.
Yes, it was heavily inspired by Dead Space and Ridley Scott's movie Alien (there's a bunch of references in there as well). The majority of the comments have been positive and to be honest not many people have noticed the similarities to Dead Space
Dead Space is one of my favorite franchises too! When I played through the original Dead Space the Necromorphs reminded me a lot of the Flood. I always thought that the Flood should have been scarier so I decided to give it a try.
That's right! Dead Space was a huge inspiration when I was making this (the story is very similar). The infection is actually meant to be the Flood from the Halo games, but the Necromorphs are very similar. It's really cool when people recognize the references :)
Well, this is best halo horror movie you made. This reminds me of: 1. Halo reach area 616. 2. Halo reach Entity. 3. Halo reach Primordium. 4. Halo 5 Salvaged. 5. Halo 4 no signal. 6. Heavy metal 1981 (B17). 7. Alien 1979. 8. Dead space. 9. Leviathan 1989. 10. The thing 1982. 11. deepstar six. 12. deep rising. 13. Doom 2005. 14. The thing: aftermath. 15. Alien: isolation. 16. The thing 2 (fan film). 17. The faculty. Great work here, even though I was expecting more characters like other team with leader (like the ones from Halo 4 no signal, Halo reach area 616, and Halo Primordium); more survivors that is killing each other over survival as I also imaged music from alien 1979, mimic 1979, the thing 1982, leviathan 1989, The fly 1-2, & Heavy metal 1981 (B17). Great stuff, man.
Holy sh!t dude this video is awesome im gonna spread the word about this video on other videos that have a bunch of views. Btw u deserve way more subscribers. I already subbed!
Geez, this was freakin' amazing! This is an extraordinarily well done machinima! It had great suspense, and it had a great ending for this horror theme. Good job!
You did a very good job! I am normally not very scared about video game shorts, but this one made me so scared…. GREAT JOB, CONTINUE WITH THESE HORROR FILMS!!!!!!
8:00 fucking scarier than when u turn around and walk into slendermann brilliant dude this machinima is fucking awesome like subscribe fave n recomend is everything that im doing right now
Thanks! Yes, I've played both the original Homeworld and Homeworld 2 (those background sounds are from Homeworld 2). It's nice to see someone that else has played them!
So let me see if I've got these two things right: 1 - The monster that Michaelson launched into space was picked up by the ship Jessica was part of and because he couldn't warn them in time. The creature escaped and infected the whole crew, creating another outbreak for the UNSC to deal with. 2 - Michaelson was scratched by the Alien (either when it ambushed him at the shuttle or at the control panel) and in the five years since he escaped, he turned. He crash landed on another world that looks like it was colonised (if the other marines were a hint) and since the military are idiots, they'll release Michaelson and he'll probably infect the whole planet. (Also, just wanna congratulate you on this. Other than Entity, this is the only Halo: Reach machinima that made me sh*t myself, and then I watched the sequel and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Keep up the good work!)
That's something that I wish I'd done differently. I'll elaborate on it more in the sequel as I have something cool in mind that'll clear up a lot of the story. Anyway, both ships are destroyed at the end.
Yes, Dead Space was one of my biggest inspirations when making this (even the name of the machinima is a Dead Space reference). Another big inspiration was the movie Alien.
That was a great video. That elite also gave me a jump scare. I really do hope you make a sequel to this as this was awesome. I really hope you continue with making these types of videos
BRILLIANT, the sequel will be good, ere is also a tip, the infection started on a planet that was once occupied by the military, it held a science facility which was testing alien artifacts, when it found a source that could have lead to the creation of man kind, when they opened somesort of container, the disease spread, the facility was in lockdon, but the infection escaped and turned the entire planet into a nest. The rest of the military classified the area and quarentined the sector, but the ship that found the planet only stumbled upon it and blah blah yeah, you know the rest xD just a suggestion :P
@Maceyoshiman If you hold a certain combination of buttons, your character's weapon will lower. If you aren't holding any grenades and you press the throw grenade button, your character will bring the weapon back up again. I just reversed the footage when I wanted him to lower the gun.
This was VERY good. A great standalone in itself, good music, good pacing, good forge sets, and great camerawork. It fits in well with the universe Canon. I can't fault it. Will recommend this to my friends, certainly.
That's right. I always wanted to see something similar to Dead Space in the Halo Universe so I took it into my own hands to make something similar. Dead Space was the biggest inspiration when I made this, along with the film "Alien"
As I watch this, I'm reminded more and more of the Story From Halo: Evolutions. The UNSC team search a ONI vessel that went dark near a Halo Ring and they find the Flood.
i love how it takes the flood story line from halo one tweaks it adds left for dead zombie noises an puts in aliens colonial marines music in (btw all games he used were horror or horror-shoot-em-up)
Alien is one of my faviorite films and i was amazed at the video itself so when i realized it was based of of alien that made this one of my faviorite machinimas ever. Great job man.
Ha ha thank you so much! I'll definitely be making more machinimas in the future. I'll actually be making a sequel to Altman this year, so I might make that a bit longer (I'd love to make it an hour long or something)
This was a very good machinima, there were a few things I would have done differently but overall it came out much better then anything I could make. Well done.
That's something I considered doing for a while, but I didn't know if I should make it on Halo 3 or Reach. After seeing your comment I have decided that I'm going to make a prequel using Halo 3. I'm not going to make it right away, I'm thinking of making it a Halloween special, just like this was intended to be.
Fantastic job! You really nailed the horror element of the movie, compared to most people's work. The ending after the credits just made it even more eerie, kudos to you! 9.5/10
There were so many frightening parts in this; like when Nicholas wasn't in the pod and when you saw the body of Dr. Kleiner in a bloody room, but later he was gone. Good job, well done
Yeah a few other people have noticed that too (there's probably a few mistakes in my other videos). I'll have to make sure to check the text next time I make a video.
Thanks a lot :) I agree with you when you say Halo Reach is better for machinima. The Elite is actually an infected Covenant Elite, so I would have had to change the story if I had made the video in Halo 4 as there are no Elites (plus I made this months before the Flood mode was announced anyway).
I will be honest, that was quality machinima. I really liked the first encounter with the alien, which, I'm a bit embarrassed to say, scared the daylights out of me. Bravo!
Well the recording program I use is the one that came with my Capture Device (the software is called TotalMedia Extreme or something). I use Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 to edit my videos. Also, you'll be please to hear that I'm going to be making a sequel some time this year (hopefully I can release it on Halloween).
I don't think there is a single machinima I have watched in full length so many times. I think I'll surpass the runtime of RotS with this. Lol. I do not have any immediate complaints about this machinima. This is well made, and executed very well. Also, being a very talented scriptwriter, I can honestly say I have no immediate problems with the script. Great job, man, and I can't wait to see more. :) (I don't watch many machinima..)
Mark VI Productions Please, tell me there is a sequel to this... there are two cliffhangers to this story that MUST be resolved! 1. The outbreak on the command ship he was communicating with. 2. Michaelson did get infected during the fight against the Flood Elite and turns. By the time he reaches civilization (5 years later) there's not much left of Michaelson (there's no way he would have survived that long anyway.)
Mark VI Productions I guessed right!!! XD And honestly... that sequel idea sounds even better. Though I still want to know what happened to the command ship that opened the pod...
love the CoD weapon sounds:) Really nice video made me jump a couple of times! And also all the sound effects from other games like L4D and Halo 3 ODST!!! And the music is so well put in!!! Fantastic Job!!!

The majority of it will take place after those ODSTs at the end find the Life Boat, so five years after Michaelson escapes.
when i think of horror halo machinimas i always think of this masterpiece!
and it still holds up 8 years later!
That's right! Dead Space was a huge inspiration when I was making this (the story is very similar). The infection is actually meant to be the Flood from the Halo games, but the Necromorphs are very similar. It's really cool when people recognize the references :)
At 8:00 i almost had a heart attack! lol
Oh god, scared the shit outta me also!
Not almost i did
Reid Lovstrom so true
Used to be terrified of this video when I was younger
I liked that you used a song from Moon. Such an underrated movie. Good job!
I love that film!
que genial
I watched this again and I paused it at 13:01 and the surface pressure of the planet was 117.343. That's a funny little easter egg.
lol

J Hamstra wait then that means! 343 is Bungie's baby 😂👌🏼
Hey man! I'm just gonna say it outright, this machinima has inspired me, (along with alien of course) to make my own halo reach horror machinima.
That's fantastic! I wish you the best of luck in your machinima making
Mark VI Productions I subscribe to you
Every time I hear that moaning, it sends chills up my spine.
Charlie J they are from half life lol
@@czarnakoza9697 no it isn't the moan is from dead space it's the dividers moan
@@reapingsalamander4309 hmm,it kinda sounds like the manduco from E.Y.E too so thats a nice concience.

At first I got Alien Isolation Vibes like crazy
Well, this is best halo horror movie you made. This reminds me of: 1. Halo reach area 616. 2. Halo reach Entity. 3. Halo reach Primordium. 4. Halo 5 Salvaged. 5. Halo 4 no signal. 6. When i first heard the moaning the first thing in my mind is Chewbacca :/
it's sounds like Chewbacca masterbaiting
The howling the creatures made is what gave me chills and the first time we hear it is by far the creapiest part of the show. Good Job

Still one of my favorite Machinamas, and everything made sense after playing Alien Isolation.
I don't get it how is it possi le that people don't get Nostromo reference.
Rigel_6 I guess you could say the topic was "alien" to them.
I'll see myself out.

I started making this machinima a year before Halo 4 was released, so it was too late anyway.
Was anyone thinking about dead space in the intro?
Think the main inspection was dead space, alien, halos flood and I think the mini story The mona Lisa.....I think
Awesome Machinima man. I watched the whole video and I LOVED IT!!!! Can't wait for more :) Keep it up!
Part 2
I doubt that'll ever happen to be honest
Mark VI Productions I think it can maybe like about the 5 years later thing
It was going to take place 5 years later, but I don't make machinima anymore so it probably won't happen
Mark VI Productions anyway great Machinima it was awesome and scary like the Nordstrom play
Thanks! Yes, I've played both the original Homeworld and Homeworld 2 (those background sounds are from Homeworld 2). It's nice to see someone that else has played them!
VERY well done. Loved the writing, and loved how you turned this game into a horror film.
This is done so well, especially with the soundtrack as it really creates scary atmosphere, and then the ending with that, heroism feel.
So let me see if I've got these two things right:
1 - The monster that Michaelson launched into space was picked up by the ship Jessica was part of and because he couldn't warn them in time. The creature escaped and infected the whole crew, creating another outbreak for the UNSC to deal with.
2 - Michaelson was scratched by the Alien (either when it ambushed him at the shuttle or at the control panel) and in the five years since he escaped, he turned. Yeah you're right, some of the background sounds are from Homeworld 2 :) Some of the music is from Dead Space 2 aswell
Because it's a lot easier when you only have one character to deal with.
Fantastic! I really love this, keeps me on the edge of my seat. I also love the perfect execution of the moving doors, and the flickering lights.
I was hoping to make it sometime this year but I'm working on another project and I haven't made much progress on it.
Thanks dude! I hope you are planning on making another Machinima like this! It was really good!
Bro, I don't know how you did it, but for the first time I'm scared as hell of a halo machinima. Quite reminds of dead space gameplay.
If you're looking for something a bit more serious, I recommend you watch one of my other videos called "Assault on Alpha Base: Covenant Invasion".
Yes, used Sony Vegas to edit the video and Photoshop for a few different things such as the life boat at the end.
Wow! You guys did a damn good job making this, I never once would have thought that Halo could be scary.
But why the hell would he launch the escape pod with the thing inside, its just going to land some where and start attacking.
