- I recently got scammed by Tourists in Namibia. Here I tell my story on how it happened and share how others can avoid falling under the same trap.

Thank you for this video again, so I watched this video when it was posted and always had it in the back of my head. This week, this guys tried to scam someone I know around knocking off time by using the same tactics and story they used with you, I am glad I could help prove to the person that it’s a scam by showing her this video. The sad part is that this people are still robbing people despite the police intervention.

Maybe the Namibian authorities should put a type of public message on the T.V. news to make people aware and to warn people about the scammers. This would also prepare people to deal with the scams. Thank you for sharing your experience as a warning to others. Stay beautiful.

I played along and made them wait for money they never got and with me it was with accommodation to rent a flat later to find out apparently these people are prisoners that are busy scamming people.

🤣🤣🤣As I gather strength to tell my family how I was actually scammed and in the process lost a bag with belongings. The version I told them was that my bag was grabbed because it was too embarrassing to tell the truth.

We got scammed with the same storyline, but our case it was Mr Lopez who wanted printed shirts for the pictures they took. We send them 2k for fuel, and their accent is always on point. Thank you for your sharing the video.

Got scammed 18k in 2017 but that was a lesson learnt, today I laugh about it but it wasn't easy.

I was also scammed by a South African men ,who made me believe that I was blessed with alot of money and had to pay a certain amount to have funds transferred to me,my dear he kept on having excuses just to get money from me..I later receive a prophecy in church that I was being deceived by someone and that day I went to cry my lungs out, but I left it in God's hands..
Jeah. Uis is a small town in Erongo region. Some few kilos from Omaruru
But we do have Uis. In Omaruru district I guess. ItsWoven, just carry on touring our country and giving us the best..

Hallo Woven,favourite youtuber and I would like to share a story where my brother also almost got scammed same Uis story,so a Namibian guy calls Him and he goes like he sells some sort of stones which a group of tourist wants to buy and they only have Euros so He should e-wallet the money and when they get to where he stays they will refund him once they reach and they also asked him to find them accommodation and a place where they will be served a variety of traditional cuisine and he starts looking for this place and he called my mom to ask whether she knows of any places and immediately she knew it was a scam,he spoke to a guy with a foreign accent and the guy who apparently sells the stones is a Damara guy,all angry because they want the stones but they don't have any Namibian dollars. He was so lucky and i am so sorry you had to go throught all that.

I too got scammed in Windhoek by a guy from my village, he sent people for me and because of my good heart, I proceeded to help.
Later on, I caught him in the act with his friends he sent for me, I slapped the hell out him, though I lost my cellphone in the process, I was happy I caught them. I am now the smartest ever. Those idiots can be heartless you know.

THIS ISEXACTLY HOW I GOT SCAMMMED THREE WEEKS AGO! except it was an Angolan couple. with a tyre bust, they needed a thousand for deposit to get another tyre. wow I cant believe the accuracy even wow wow
helvi shipungo shame, I got scammed by an Angolan couple too- Pablo dal almealda & Maria dal almealda. They tried to scam my friend a few weeks after they scammed me, luckily I was there when they called and I recorded them. Send the voice note to the detective working on my case but nothing. Don’t even think they are working on the case🙄

They tried the exact same Uis story on me in 2018. But me, anytime someone I don't know asks me for money I already know something is shady....so I just hung up the phone and blocked the number then they texted me from another number insulting me like they did with you 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The insults really had me cracking aswell. I’ve since learned my lesson. Even on the streets now if I see someone walking towards me or asking I just run.

Lol...I have been through this as well. It's a bunch of Damaras pretending to be tourists in Namibia, posing as foreigners, preferably Spanish doctors, and pretending to be stuck in Uis / Brandberg and other locations. Cannot change currency and asking for Namibian Dollars, which they promise to refund once you meet them. They tried this shit with a number of Tour Operators in Namibia.

I also went through exactly same thing ! Exactly Same story ! But I didn’t send them money as clicked it’s a scam ! They phoned my work telephone . They are not tourist they are Namibians . The only way to catch them is to see which atm that number they withdraw the money and time and they can check cameras there.

Same thing happened to me and apparently they don't speak English ' their sound like from those Portuguese countries.
Omgeee this happened to us. We put out a advert for rent at our property. And The boer guy told us about doctors looking for accommodation in Windhoek. So their car broke down and they wanted us to send money via ewallet. But my aunt said she only cash and the man suggested that She go drops it off B1 under the bridge. Tah🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 luckily my aunt realized it was a scam and told the guy off.
I got scammed but as karma would have it the guy experienced an actual tyre puncher and had to pay more than what he scammed me out of,
