      Show them KBB values, it's an easy way to get them to lower the price. Then start pointing out all the things wrong with the car, hoping that they'll catch on and lower a little more.

    after or with your "what would it take to take this car home today" question. How about listing to the seller the fixes/costs that we are calculating into buying it, especially stuff i found that they hadn't advertised? Such as they r asking 9k for a truck, i see it needs ball joints and.... which will cost 2+.... so maybe i offer 6k...

    I watched this video half a dozen times last night & again this morning before going to look at a street bike that’s EASILY worth $1,500 more than I paid for it today.
    Asking the question & waiting during the awkward silence saved me an additional $500.00 below what the seller said was his his best price.
    Another tip I use for buying motorcycles, mountain bikes, snowboards, skis & air conditioners: Buy them out of season!
    I bought this motorcycle on November 22nd (in Colorado) & I bought six air conditioners at ~15% of what I’ll flip them for next summer, simply by buying when no one else will.

    I've tried two attempt to purchase cars from personal owners... I seem to getting ghosted ---- once the owners realize that I'm requesting vin numbers from vehicles, and the knowledge of me bringing a mobile mechanic to assist me with evaluation... The whole experience is making me feel that there are dubious sellers and the personal owner markets!🤨

    • @afawaz23
      @afawaz23 10 місяців тому +1

      Never, ever think twice about a used car if the owner refuses to provide the VIN. 9 times out of 10 they are hiding a salvage title or even worse maybe a stolen vehicle. And when you do get the VIN never take their word even if they say clean title. Search and check yourself. They could have gotten into a major accident, opt to keep the car with the original clean title when it was registered, but if you go to register again for a new title it will show digitally as salvage at the DMV and you will get screwed.

    First thing first before you waste your time and his/hers. Ask to see the title before you go through pre purchase inspection. Alot of times people try to sell vehicles that 1 either has a lien or to many signatures on it and was never transferred to their name. Not having a free and clear title can become time consuming and frustrating when going to register the vehicle to your name. Just a word of advice

    Hope you are still seeing these comments...Do you think KBB private party values are way low right now, with the used car market still so inflated? After combing listings for weeks, and not even getting a response from other private sellers, i have found a car i like. But it's a private seller listing his car at the KBB dealer price, 2000 above private party. Still, it is so much less than all the dealer prices I've been seeing, and the car appears to be in great shape w/fairly low miles for its age. His ad says "Firm on price." Should I not offer much less?

I'm also going to have it inspected by a mechanic and see if the intake manifold and air suspension are good and whatnot. If the car is indeed in excellent condition and I decide to buy, is the original asking price of $4500 fair? The KBB price is closer to $3180 due to the high mileage, so I was going to shoot for 3500. Thoughts, gentlemen?

All of the second Gen Ram Truck's have an issue with paint and clear coat peeling or fading, the dashboard cracking on top the dash bezel crack's as well . This one is sound mechanically because he my (father-in-law) meticulously maintained it himself. If they sold it to someone else the price was quoted as $5500.00

Than after 3 days she called me and sayid the car is not driving, I'll sue you, there is a lemon law, I'm calling the police and stuff. After a week I received a mail from court that she want me to pay her $1300 for car expenses. The car was sold for 2500. It is a first time I sold a car and I never went to court and I am nerves.

    Hey man, as far as guidelines for pricing your offer, I saw a guy who likes to hit a middle point between what KBB quotes and what NADA quotes .... he goes off the trade-in value they quote though. Is that really what you wanna do for a private sale? Trade-in value is usually significantly lower, right? This seems like it could lead to your offer being that offer that pisses them off. Do you know why he says use the trade-in value, or whether or not that's a good idea?

    Too bad most smart sellers have figured out how to counter this by saying "Idk, make me an offer".
    Then, the balls in your court. And your risk making an offer that will end communication altogether.
    And if you keep pushing to try and get a number out of them, they may just get fed up, and end communications.
