Very good review. I made a major mistake on my last tedder purchase because I did not do my research and did not know what to look for. Now I know what to look for. Was looking at another brand and about made up my mind. Then I saw Pequea and that was a game changer. This video has sealed it for me. I will loose money on my last purchase, if I can sell it, but want to be satisfied and want good equipment to make the best hay I can bale. Again, thank you for the great review!
Thanks again for demoing the tedder and giving your opinion on it i have always used krone tedders back when i was baling im trying to get the equipment to start back up and i like seeing actual demos in the field to see for myself how they work so thanks to you and Cain equipment for providing this for all of us
We run a tt 4100 Pequea .have had it 3 years been over about 1500 acres and has been a great machine .they are so far over some of the others will never own another brand of tedder best one we ever owned
If you ever trade I would look at the Vermeer TE series. I have had mine a couple years now and really like it. It really compares well with this one but I think is better in several ways. The hook tines is one and the height adjustment is simply flip stops on the tilt cylinder, which also serve are the road transport lock. There is no need to get out for short moves though. It cost twice as much as Vermeers entry tedder but is about 4 times better IMO. Also, made in USA.
I’m in the market for a new 4 basket. The Krone is my favorite so far and then I discovered this Pequea that looks a little better to me. Problem is the Krone dealer is really close to me probably 25 minutes away and it’s also my Deere dealer so we have a relationship established already but the closest Pequea dealer is almost 2 hours away. I really like the Pequea. What would you do? Is the Pequea that much better that you’d drive that far for parts, service, or whatever you need?
I had a krone, traded for a claas. Now im thinking of trading for a pequea. If i were you id stay away from krone tedder unless you like the windrowing effect they create. The claas will out do krone i had 2-1, no questions. I traded a 3 year old krone tedder for claas. The krone had a bearing go out in the outside basket. The whole shaft had to come out major surgery plus 2000 later, it was fixed. You can hear anything but i never liked job it did. I like claas tedder fine but everybody around here is giving good reviews on pequea. So i may trade and try it out.
Adam windrowing effect? I’d really like to end up getting a Pequea 4 basket and Kuhn SR110GII next spring but I just don’t know if I really need a brand new tedder. There’s a an H&S RT5200h on Facebook for $3500. Don’t have much experience in H&S equipment. Looks decent
@@nalley6815 Yes, the krone wouldnt spread hay behind tedder evenly. The claas will throw hay further and do better job spreading even. After fluffing with krone in real thick hay, you could look out across field and hay was windrowed slightly. Not saying that would kill you, but ill take my claas over the krone.
@@nalley6815 lemme know if you buy a krone and find that adjustment. I know several guys that have krone tedder and thats only complaint. Mine had bearing go out after probably only about 500 acres, or id still had it, but now that ive had claas i would much rather have it. I wouldnt buy another krone piece just cause krone dealers in my area are 0 help.
Chase how do you compare this pequea to a claas fluffer, i know i seen you had demo'd a 6 basket claas. Does the pequea throw the hay as good as claas, and do you think it is more similar to the krone or claas. Ive had krone didnt care for it, like claas much better.
Adam 4 star Tedder the claas is lighter built I don’t care for the round tubing frame six star I love the claas both are nice Tedders an do a great job throwing the hay an spreading it the krone does not neither class or pequea windrow the hay after Tedding twice like the krone was very pleased with the job the claas an pequea did either is a good choice there pretty close it comes down to price for me
@@BagwellFarms Thanks for replying. I introduced myself to you at Cains a couple years ago. As far as fluffers goes I had a krone, hated it. Traded for claas, it does a lot better fluffing than krone did, just borrowed a pequea today, honestly i cant tell a lot of difference in the job it does over claas. I guess ill just stick with claas. Pequea definitely has 500 lbs of weight over claas. Im just not sure if it really means much.
I get impression that u are not a fan of mine? I hope u dont think i brag about my business because my Dad started out with a car trailor and a sit on mower and used to mow gardens to where we are today and im always willing to support anybody tryin make living out of Agriculture. Im very lucky to inherit what my Dads blood, sweat and tears have blessed me with.
Will see its hard to get massey stuff their not as easy to get id like to maybe one day its a good tedder the one i demoed sold right after i dropped it off i be leave
Aaron Reckelhoff well both are really good options compared to what else is out there that’s why i chose to demo them but if I had to choose without pricing them I’d go with pequea on a 4 star an claas on the 6 I like how heavy the pequea 4 star is compared to claases 4 star if claas built their 4 star the way the 6 star is I’d buy it but they don’t I like claases 6 star over pequeas because I don’t like the large carry wheels it has in front I feel like it’d push the hay down in the ground and could possibly have a rapping issue on them out of the two I felt like the claas did a little better job scattering the hay but the pequea is a close 2nd both are way better than the krone I have as far as Tedding the hay
Ghosty Locxs4 yea of course I do but you’re life is your work an all your toys are the things you use to make money an you make about enough to keep Uncle Sam happy an the lights on lol 😂 perty much sums it up
Ghosty Locxs4 most do multiple different things we have cattle that’s mostly what we are is a cattle farm so we sell cattle year round an hay we store enough to sell the whole winter grain is the same way or you just have to budget yourself

Nice vid! Our jd Tedder could swing the tongue to throw the hay away from the fence.it was very handy machine
That is one really well built tedder! They put a ton of thought into it. Thanks for the detailed video, great job
thank you yea they did a really good job with it

Great review. I just purchased a 6 star. Using it in heavy wet material for forage in a day. It will put it thru the durability test for sure
very nice piece of equipment

They have made some major upgrades compared to my Pequea tedder. Thanks for the vid!
Good folks over at Cain Equipment. Ed the parts guy is a genius. Happy haying, I'm watching some of mine get washed right this minute.
Thanks that was great I’m looking at the same Tedder, very helpful
Is that the same model OLF is using? They seem to work well! Take care
Worlds Okayest Farmer it’s the same brand but here’s running the larger model
Nice piece of kit if it gets the job done happy days?

Thats a great tedder i dont care much for universal joints i found that we were having to mess about with them constantly?

no i like the claas a lot if that what your referring to? an no i dont think your bragging
How well does it tow down the road at 25mph? Any squirreliness to it or does it seem to have good tongue weight?
towed good i never really noticed it
Man it seems like everything Cain sells is awesome!
Maybe they will let you demo a Massey tedder. I have a Massey, but I really like the looks of the Pequea.
Will see its hard to get massey stuff their not as easy to get id like to maybe one day its a good tedder the one i demoed sold right after i dropped it off i be leave
Very informative, thank you, I grew up in North Georgia as well, a small town called Tunnel Hill.
ok your from a little above Dalton then? I bought our square baler used up that way
Yes sir
All our hay and Foraging machinery are mostly Claas and they are made in Germany but cant fault the engineering.
Ok which one you giving the edge to out of your demos, Claas or Pequea

Are you still using this tedder looking at a kubota and a pequea
Gunter Farms no i just had it on demo buy the pequea
Hi nice
Can you make a living in farming?
Ghosty Locxs4 yea of course I do but you’re life is your work an all your toys are the things you use to make money an you make about enough to keep Uncle Sam happy an the lights on lol 😂 perty much sums it up
How do farmers make money when the harvest season is over?
Ghosty Locxs4 most do multiple different things we have cattle that’s mostly what we are is a cattle farm so we sell cattle year round an hay we store enough to sell the whole winter grain is the same way or you just have to budget yourself
Do cattle farmers make money per month?
Can I rent land to farm?
Tommy's Farms, you certainly can, in fact most larger farms do.
Mark Groth thanks, are you a farmer?
Tommy's Farms yes you can most of our land is rented
Tommy's Farms , yes I am.
Tommy's Farms I bought it.
It looks verry chaeply built, the european machines are a lot heavyer
there isnt nothing cheap about it we have the same tedders all 4 stars are lighter than the 6 stars or larger
