My sister did this with my hair for my wedding. We put some flowers in it and it was gorgeous. It literally took 5 - 10 minutes. I wish I could attach a photo.
Thank you for getting on with the tutorial pretty quickly. I can't stand some of these other women who blather on for 5 minutes about their personal life before showing us how to do the thing we clicked on their link to see. Much appreciated! And you seem wonderfully refreshing and not plastic. I just subcribed.

OMG, I’ve had sooooo many compliments on this up do. I’m a nurse, masked and in uniform.....with a great up do! Thank you for helping me feel glam in these odd times. Love these tutorials ❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼😷😁
I used this for a wedding I went to yesterday. Absolutely stunning, and people thought I got my hair done at a salon. It literally took me 5 minutes to do. So simple, but elegant. Awesome! Thanks a bunch!!
I can watch your videos all day! Your voice is soothing, you use complete sentences and your info is fabulous! I've lost my fear of creative up dos and opened up a wedding/prom clientele for myself, thank you thank you!!!
Thank you. I have to help my daughter with her hair for a wedding she is attending. Your instructions are super clear and logical. You describe what you're doing and trying to achieve with each step in a very easy to understand way.
I've been watching a lot of your videos and been in a deep depression lately, you make me want to try some of the hair styles and I'm actually excited to do it and looking forward to looking feeling good with my hair done. Thank you very much .
Thank you for being so thorough and for taking the time to demonstrate the style step by step. You have gorgeous hair and you’re very talented. Of any of the hair videos I’ve watched, your’s is the most enjoyable and informative. You give me hope I could actually style my hair like this. 🤗
This is about the only updo tutorial I’ve found that works for my extremely thick hair. Most tutorials only work for certain hair types so thank you for sharing this versatile and easy style.
Tried this hairstyle tonight for a family dinner. It was my first attempt and was a hurry. Since this hairstyle is supposed to be a bit messy, it worked, although mine didn’t turn out as neat as yours. My husband loved it and that’s all that matters and I felt cute too hahah thank you so much to you. Will definitely try this hairstyle again for an event this weekend!
Hi Kate, just wanted to thank you for your tips and tricks. I am 70 and always wore my hair very short until a few years ago. The only way I knew to "style " my hair was a ponytail and the inverted tail. I am so glad I found your channnel! My hair is silver and curly, well sort of. It's curly when just washed and in humidity, but otherwise relaxes in bed, (just as I do), anyway I love the messy bun and it is my go to do for times when a ponytail is too casual. Thanks again
Thank you so much for this! I somehow stumbled onto your tutorial days before my wedding 4.4.2020 trying to find an approachable DIY updo for my big day. COVID-19 completely changed everything we had planned, and I never expected I would be doing my own hair on my wedding day! Well it turned out great, and I owe a lot of that to YOU!! Thank you so much ☺️
This video was awesome and saved me! I tried at least 5 other hair tutorials and they all came out like a child was playing dress up with my hair. This was my last attempt before making an expense hair appointment. May hair turned out GREAT!! Thank you so much!!
My sister in law did this on me for a wedding a couple weeks ago and it was fantastic! Thank you so much! It held perfectly the whole day, through the dancing and all the madness :)). I wish I could post a picture, it looked so good!
I just did this for a wedding, I hope I can share the picture. My sister helped with the back (pinning hair) and it looks fabulous. Thank you so much for sharing this for the "hair" challenged people like me! Love you!
Hi, I have natural "messy",wavy kind of hair. I've been trying to figure out a more finished look for job interviews. This was easy and looks awesome! Thanks!
I have one daughter who has very thick hair, and the first time I really struggled to do this with her. Not only is it thick, it is heavy, and completely straight, pretty difficult to work with. I simply split it into three instead of two...I did it the same in the beginning, but instead of taking the top section and making one bun, I made a lower and upper. I still did the pull through ponytail and then rolled and pinned it up, and the smaller sections made it much easier to work with. It came out looking great! Thank you for the easy step by step explanation and demonstration!
This tutorial just saved me two hours of hard work before dinner. It was suddenly dropped on my head that we were going out, and I had day old hair. I sprayed some dry shampoo in it and viola! It worked perfectly! First UA-cam tutorial that I did without help! I'm so happy! THANKS SO MUCH!
You are the cutest thing and your voice is amazing. You have wonderful tutorials and everything is fairly easy except some of the braids, but that comes with practice. I don't understand why people have to be negative in any way, just keep that to yourself. Keep up the great and inventive styles Kate. Thanks and I'll keep practicing.
I had been searching all over the internet to do something to my short hair for a party I have to go to. I found the perfect one!!!! This is sooooo easy to do and looks beautiful. Thank you sooo much!! I wont have to go to an expensive hair stylist now. Your instructions were wonderful!!
I've watched a few other videos and she is the first one who was smart enough to look at the camera from time to time instead of just at herself. Thank you for sharing that, I'm going to try it tonight.
I opened this because UA-cam thought it was appropriate to put on my list (...?) and I had no idea what an "updo" was. Now I know, and I'm just so grateful for this piece of vitally important information...
Wow--I've literally been asking for help from my hairdresser and friends for years--and NOONE has ever shown me something as lovely and easy as this! THANK YOU!
Love this. Easy, fast! Ive never been successful with ANY UP DO. Twist & claw clip is my go to. I was ready to give up on the 2nd pony tail, but kept going. Very happy 😊 thank you much

I absolutely loved this!! It was easy to do & the results are beautiful. I got nothing but compliments when I wore it to my cousin's wedding. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for sharing! I loved your simple yet elegant up-do. I seem to have trouble with the top part of my hair as I don't have bangs and it (the long bang part) just hangs there on the side of my face. I used to have bangs but my hair styler said bangs were an "80's" thing. I'll have to give this a try.

I am as amateur as it gets when it comes styling hair. I tried this style out on a friend of mine for a wedding. She has very long hair with long layers. It looked amazing. It truly looked like it was done at the salon. It also held up well throughout the night. She curled it first with a large barrel curling iron. It took about 15 minutes to do. Thanks for the tutorial.
I have just been given a terrible hair cut were it was cut toooooooo and short and it does frame my face or suit me at all and there's nothing I can do, seeing you make this incredible hair style has given me hope thank you!
I did this hairstyle for the Christmas party we had at work and I have to say, there were a lot of jealous females! I'll definitely look at more of your videos for any events I plan to make an appearance at.
Holy 🤭! I tried this with shorter hair, still half wet from the shower, no pre-curls, and it totally worked!!!!!!! My hair looks like it was professionally done and it took 3 minutes!!! Thank you for this!!! 🤩🤩🤩
What kind of rubber bands do u use? I'm so afraid of pulling out my hair with them. I have thin hair that gets tangled easy. This was a great tutorial. I've not seen this method before. TY
I find these plastic elastics at this Green Dollar General store, they dont grip onto the hair, they simply slide out. Just look for the thinner, smoother looking ones (:

Audrey Sylvain Well those perfect sprayed down dos were in in the 50's..I like the more informal hair styles..they are soft and pretty and unpretentious. Its a simpler life style with simpler hair now.
you gotta realize that unless you have hair like hers (same length, same waves, same haircut, same thickness) the bun won't look the same. it's the same as when you go to the hairdresser and show her a hairdo you saw in a magazine. will look one way on the model and totally different on you or anybody else who isnt that model
I did this hairstyle for a fornal ball last night. It looked very professional, I curled and hairsprayed, then sprayed dry shampoo and all of it worked. THANKS!
+Sunni Freyer teasing wrecks the hair shaft... You end up with a ton of split ends really high up your hair strands. Dry shampoos, texturing powder and mousse are a more hair-health friendly way to get that texture :)
So I've watched countless Hague tutorials over the years and just like the others i thought this wouldn't work for me. But I've been using this tutorial for about 2 years now and every time I do this it just works!
I just tried it, I have long hair and took a bun maker for the lower part and left over two front sections which I twisted and pinned back in the buns at the end. It's gorgeous I didn't even have to tease the hair a lot. Will wear it on my mum's wedding, it's really lasting well :)
Congrats on your new baby! It's cool to hear your voice in the video. I have followed your blog for a number of months. You are great with hair and makeup. My hair is waaaay to long for this but I thought it looked elegant anyway.
I'm a bit skeptical myself since I have super fine, thin straight hair but I suppose it just may work if I do the dry shampoo and curl all my hair first with a curling iron. I'm excited to try it out! I'll post again once I do.
i did this yesterday and after a long night out and a full on hangover today, it's still in! holds really well with thick curly hair - it didn't look exactly the same though because our hair textures are different, but still looked pretty good! thanks!! :)

I'm a bit skeptical myself since I have super fine, thin straight hair but I suppose it just may work if I do the dry shampoo and curl all my hair first with a curling iron. I'm excited to try it out! I'll post again once I do.
i have really thick hairXD
I used a fake donut, and used a little less hair on top, it worked fine :)
If you have thinking hair, start doing Collagen powder and Black Seed oil. You find that your hair will grow back.
This is by far the best DIY updo tutorial! Thank you!

Thank you! Going wedding dress shopping and I was lost on how to try and wear it! This looks so easy!
Love this!!! Trying it out today!! Thank you:)
Looks like pure Art! What a talented girl!
Great for weddings..
Will this look nice on me? I have black hair
It'll probably look better because with darker hair you don't notice every little mistake made.
i did this yesterday and after a long night out and a full on hangover today, it's still in! holds really well with thick curly hair - it didn't look exactly the same though because our hair textures are different, but still looked pretty good! thanks!! :)
