Thank you for this! It was formal dress up day at my daughter's first grade class. This clueless dad who's only done ponytails was able to do this first try, and my daughter loved it!
I love how you gave more detailed explanation on the pinch and pull, and it’s so effective for giving the back bump without all that teasing and other stuff.
Every video I've watched on doing a bun like this says it's going to be easy. None of them have been... until this one! Even though my hair is shorter and wavy, I was able to follow the step-by-step instructions and end up with a style that looks like the end result in the video, and without the cussing and crying that usually goes along with me trying to style my hair! Thank you!
Oh my word, I’ve been doing that with my hair for years!! I have fringe so no face framing. It is my go to when in a bind and crunched for time. Brilliant tutorial! It’s gorgeous on you.
I feel like this hair style only works with thicker hair. I have baby fine hair. It's long. No matter how much I follow these kind of tutorials, my hair still slips right out. Such an elegant hair style. I wish my hair texture could wear it...
Same. If it does manage to stay up, then mine looks super…squished? Tiny? Like it is trying too hard? And pinching and pulling just helps it slip out and doesn’t ever really add bulk.
@crystalb2908 , I don't put product in my hair. After a few hours it just makes my scalp look oily. My hair texture is pretty limited to a braid of Topsy ponytail.
Try it on dirty hair or even spray some dry shampoo throughout for some grip. I like texture spray too but it can make my hair feel dirty, which I don’t like!
I am 75 and the only good thing left on my entire body is my hair ‼️ Thank you so much That was a beautiful bun buns are extremely elegant and I don't care if you're even wearing jeans and you're an old lady like me he bun makes you look very elegant Thank you so much that was just beautiful❤
This looks like it will be perfect for me. I have so much hair and I never know what to do with it, except put it in a ponytail. So I’m very excited to try it and I will let you know! Thank you for sharing this.
Will definitely try this one! And for neck hump try lying on your back with a yoga block lengthwise between your shoulder blades (foot maybe five minutes a couple times a week). Yours is not pronounced and simply being aware of it is beneficial. Implement strict posture (shoulder blades down with bottom edges aiming toward each other, shoulders basically down and back); chin tucks (slide head back without dropping chin to lengthen the back of the neck…..) (yoga therapist here lol.)
This is wonderful instruction! Going to a wedding in two days, starting practice tonight! Your method of showing and narrating is very helpful and confidence building❤❤❤
I love this! Thank you! I’m going to try this next Saturday evening for church. I keep trying to do a cute bun because I get hot very easily (I’m in the choir and do tons of things before and during mass) and I think this will be perfect. Thank you again!
I love this style. I have always had short hair and now for the last 2 years I have been growing my hair out and I am new to doing things with longer hair. I love how easy but super CUTE your styles are! Thank you for making these videos!!❤
Awesome updo and tutorial, thank you Lainey! I have thin baby hair that’s just below the tops of my shoulders and found these kinds of updo don’t work cause my hair slips out. But found out that if I sleep with dry shampoo in my one or two day unwashed hair undos hold a lot longer. Also found that if I curl my hair before putting it up, on top of sleeping with dry shampoo the night before, it gives my hair enough texture and some volume that lasts through the entire event and then some! Sometimes will add a wee bit of good ole hairspray but only on the areas where I know my hair tends to slip. Lastly I have light-medium brown hair and found that the majority undo’s look almost 100% better on people with blonde hair.
This is the first hair tutorial I've ever been able to do. I had to try it a few times because my hair is layered and at a weird length but I did it. I'm so excited about it. I still need practice but I love it!
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for your videos. I appreciate your tutorials so much. You teach us how to be able to do them by ourselves which I sure did need. Thank you, again for spreading your videos and love. 💌
Really easy and also beautiful! With the help of a topsytail tool and little claw clips instead of bobby pins I managed to make this style even with the left elbow in a splint (due to a coronoid fracture). Thank you very much 🙂!
I'm growing my hair back out and I was on the search for a messy bun that looks like I actually care what my hair looks like.😅 Though I think messy is great, I hate seeing elastics or pins and I like some sort of balance. This is effortless looking, yet structured and cool! I think it's a style I can rock. Thanks. Awsesome tutorial.
I love that the dos are easy cause it's over 100 degrees f here where I live. Theyre pretty and hold out throughout the day. Btw I have extremely thin hair strands but I was blessed with volume especially when its brushed.
I have trouble putting my hair up now that it is longer but this style worked! I love your tips and tricks too!! I don’t like using a lot of product so anything I can do to create that look is great! Thank you!!
Lovely. Thanks, I'll try this one! Oh, and the neck lump - it's probably from too much forward head posture. Common if you're looking down a lot. If you can sleep on your back, put a folded hand towel lengthwise under the hump and forego the pillow for a while. It's also good to do neck and back stretching and strengthening exercises - doesn't take a whole lot but it helps in maintaining good posture.
This is beautiful. I will try it, but I've never been able to properly pinch my hair for texture or place bobby pins that hold. I will try multiple times. 🤞
Hi! Thanks for the video. I have baby fine super curly hair & it still worked! ❤ My top is not flat of course & instead of the knot I left the pieces out cuz they curl up anyway! Lmk what you think. I appreciate you .
Sure! I've been doing stretches the last 2 months and it's definitely improved! still there, but way better than this video! I need to be more consistent with doing it
Just gorgeous & you do a great job making it look simple! I think you're lovely & IMHO, that "hump" on your neck is just a normal vertebral protrusion I think everyone has!
Hi Christina just found your channel this looks beautiful and easy and just in time going for a meal for my granddaughters birthday thank you lot's of love jacky from Oxford uk xx 💕✨
I would love to do this with my thin, shoulder length hair. Also, I have bangs. What products would you recommend to help get my hair to cooperate when doing a style like this? Thank you!! I love your videos!!
Hey girl! Thanks for the tip! I am a Licensed Massage Therapist & I certainly recommend getting massages; using a technique called traction! If you are open to Chiropractic care, sometimes they have decompression machines you could use on your cervical spine. Otherwise, you could roll up a full sized towel and use that to decompress your cervical spine at home. Please be careful!
What brand is the comb you're using!? I like it...a lot! And I need a new comb. Would love to purchase one like this if possible. Thanks so much! Oh, and cute hairstyle 😊
I like that she narrates the procedure. She's also very personable and fun to watch.
Thank you for your kindness 🥺❤️

I love how you gave more detailed explanation on the pinch and pull, and it’s so effective for giving the back bump without all that teasing and other stuff.
Agreed!! I love the texture it gives! Thanks for watching 😊

Finally someone with long, thick wavy/curly hair! Thank you for sharing ways to style my hair😊❤
Thanks for watching 😊
My thoughts exactly❤

Have you tried a texture spray. I've got fine hair as well and kept having the same issue. The texture spray made a huge difference for me.
Same. If it does manage to stay up, then mine looks super…squished? Tiny? Like it is trying too hard? And pinching and pulling just helps it slip out and doesn’t ever really add bulk.
I agree. Every hair tutorial I've tried of hers makes mine look like a potato 😂😂

Amazing!! Thanks for being here!
63, Me too. 😂❤❤❤
Me too. Old, but still want to look elegant. I'll try it.
LOVE this!!!! I wear my hair up a lot and this is SO much better than a regular ol bun
Yay!! Thank you!!💗
This looks like it will be perfect for me. I have so much hair and I never know what to do with it, except put it in a ponytail. So I’m very excited to try it and I will let you know! Thank you for sharing this.

i love your instruction and made it look so easy. its amazing how you don't even used hair spray....plain and simple. Thanks so much!!
Thank you!! 💗💗
She made it SO easy to follow and understand.
Thank you!!💗

Great tips!!! Thanks for sharing for others. Blonde hair does show better with hairstyles like these but still beautifully on darker hair!❤
This is the first hair tutorial I've ever been able to do. I had to try it a few times because my hair is layered and at a weird length but I did it. I'm so excited about it. I still need practice but I love it!
Great tutorial! Beautiful! I won't wear this because I find low buns uncomfortable, but I might try to recreate it higher. Great tips at the end!
I’m sure this would look beautiful up higher ❤
Cute! Pulling around the front really gave it the perfect shape!
I can't wait to try this. I'm tired of the boring ways I wear my hair. Thank you.
Thank you!!💗
Thank you for the tips! I have a fancy birthday party and I’ll try this bun for sure!
I can’t wait to try this! My hair is the same length as yours and thick and fine. I feel like this technique will work well with my hair.
I’m so happy that I subscribed to your videos. The other ones are too fast to even see what they are doing, and no explanation. Thank you.
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for your videos. I appreciate your tutorials so much. You teach us how to be able to do them by ourselves which I sure did need. Thank you, again for spreading your videos and love. 💌
Thank you!! 💗💗you're too sweet!
I love that this was so nice and slow. I feel like I can totally do this myself. Thank you!
Yay!! Thank you!!💗
Thank you for this! My daughter is getting married and I need an elegant but easy style that I can do myself. I’ll try it! I hope I can do it.
Such a nice tutorial, thank you! I like this bun because it's quick, interesting and secure not just for a photo shoot😊
Really easy and also beautiful! With the help of a topsytail tool and little claw clips instead of bobby pins I managed to make this style even with the left elbow in a splint (due to a coronoid fracture). Thank you very much 🙂!

Love it. I think this can work for my Son's Wedding this Saturday.
Thank you.
This is so stinkin adorable! My hair is quite a bit shorter than yours but it is thick, so I am hoping it will work. Thank you for sharing!!!
super pretty and I might finally be able to do this. Will try it today for an event I'm going to. Thx
I love that the dos are easy cause it's over 100 degrees f here where I live. Theyre pretty and hold out throughout the day. Btw I have extremely thin hair strands but I was blessed with volume especially when its brushed.
I feel like this'll take me a good deal of...20-25 minutes to do...this us kinda complicated for us true beginners, yet it's SOOO adorable!! 😮💨
I have trouble putting my hair up now that it is longer but this style worked! I love your tips and tricks too!! I don’t like using a lot of product so anything I can do to create that look is great! Thank you!!
YAY ! Thank you!!💗
Very detailed diy, one of the best I've come across. Hope to c more or ur videos! Thx for sharing tis easy and elegant up do.
Thank you so much!!!!
Yes the texture spays work. I have the same issue, and with the the texture stays, that creates volume for me as well.
Lovely. Thanks, I'll try this one!

That was SO easy-headed to church with my new "bun-do"! 😘
YAY! Thank you!!💗
At last, an updo that I think I might be able to manage. Thank you!!!
I’m loving all of the updos for summer 😊
Yay! Glad to hear that. They're my fav!
Thank you for the great tip at the end to get more volume in the front with the comb handle!
Thanks for watching 😊

Thank you!!! Agreed❤😊
I love this. I'll try it tmrw because I'm looking up an updo for military ball and want to look cute.
Yay! Hope it worked well for you!
This is beautiful. I will try it, but I've never been able to properly pinch my hair for texture or place bobby pins that hold. I will try multiple times. 🤞
I'm using my nails when I pinch and pull. And i'm taking small sections!
Oh love this!! My hair is down to my hips. Can't wait to try it out 😍
I hope it works for you 😊
Just great. Wish I had talents like you in my environment.
Beautiful work! Well done! 👏
How do you get it to look so fluffy??? My hair is super thick but it doesn’t look like this when I do the bun.
Gonna try it. My hair is not that long but I think it is close 😊. Super cute. You’re beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!!💗
I just LOVE it period!!!
Love it! Love it! Baby fine hair and having a little issue with volume, but working on it. Thank you.
Try some texture spray for a teasing comb, like the one in my video! Thank you!!💗
This style is beautiful ❤️
Thank you!!
I LOVE ITI!!! You explain it well too!! THANKS!!! 🙂
Hi! Thanks for the video. I have baby fine super curly hair & it still worked! ❤ My top is not flat of course & instead of the knot I left the pieces out cuz they curl up anyway! Lmk what you think. I appreciate you .
I looove this bun! Gonna do it tomorrow!
Definitely trying this, high buns give me headaches but I like my hair tied back at work so this seems perfect thank you
You’re so welcome 😊
Love this, my first one!!! Thank you❤️
Can you do a follow up on the responses about the hump. I have one to and am much older. I've always had it.
Love the tutorial!!
Sure! I've been doing stretches the last 2 months and it's definitely improved! still there, but way better than this video! I need to be more consistent with doing it

Simple and gorgeous. Thank you
Beautiful and neat tricks to make it easy! Would it work to curl the ends and pin them on the back portions after you pull them through?
Yes will try! So adorable
Thank you!!💗
Hi Christina just found your channel this looks beautiful and easy and just in time going for a meal for my granddaughters birthday thank you lot's of love jacky from Oxford uk xx 💕✨
Love the color of yr hair. Where can we get that comb?
Looks fabulous.❤
For the neck issue a chiropractor can help along with gentle neck stretches. This hairstyle is gorgeous.
Thank you 😊
There are also some great videos on UA-cam for stretches. Can’t wait to try the bun!
I love it! Thank you for all your beautiful updos!
Thanks for watching 😊
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you!! 💗💗
