  • These Peppermint Candy Bath Bombs look and smell just like the real thing! They are fragranced with Candy Cane Fragrance Oil, which is a classic combination of peppermint, vanilla, and sugar. Once the bath bombs are formed in the Disk Mold and Package and left to dry, they're painted with a mixture of mica and 99% isopropyl alcohol.

    These bath bombs make great gifts for the holidays. We love reusing the Disk Mold and Package, Plastic to package and gift these bath bombs. The sturdy plastic helps protect them as well, as bath bombs can be delicate. Another packaging option is placing them in plastic bags and tying them on both ends to resemble candy.
    🍬 Peppermint Candy Bath Bomb Recipe:
    7-8 Disk Mold & Packages
    16 oz. Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)
    8 oz. cup Citric Acid
    1 oz. Cocoa Butter
    .5 oz. Sweet Almond Oil
    0.5 oz. Polysorbate 80
    0.5 oz. Candy Cane Fragrance Oil
    1 tsp. Red Mica
    1 tsp. Kelly Green Mica
    Witch Hazel in Spray Bottle
    2 Tbs. 99% Isopropyl Alcohol

    These looked awesome but if you draw the top stripes at twelve and six, then three and nine to start with the spacing would be easier.

    Most green micas aren’t FDA approved for bath bombs. Is this kelly green an exception? I wouldn’t use it unless I was absolutely sure.

      This sounds like a load of crap. It's approved for cosmetics and skin use. You don't expect them to hold your hand and list every possible use case right?

    If witch hazel makes you gag as much as it does me, you can also use a high percentage rubbing alcohol!

    How do they look in the bath? Do they give off much colour?

    • @tammy5926
      @tammy5926 4 роки тому +2

      I made these and didn't have polysorbate 80. It was a disaster. I was completely red and my tub was stained red which didn't rinse off me or the tub with plain water. I've ordered the polysorbate 80 and plan to try this again and hoping for better results. The top of my bath water was a layer of red Mica floating in oil and as I stood up I picked up all of the color on my skin so definitely don't recommend this without the polysorbate 80.

      They would also work well with melt and pour soaps or lotion bars!

    Hi Annie, great video I like it and definitely trying it because I love all your bathbombs. Quick question please is it compulsory to use SLSA and cream of tartar when making bathbombs? What does it add to the bathbomb please? Looking forward to your response thank you so much. 😍😍

    • @cottitamessar2019
      @cottitamessar2019 4 роки тому +4

      Cream of tartar is a binding agent for the bathbombs and will harden them as well as add to the fizzing profile of the bathbomb. I dont think it's necessary if you have something like citric acid in your mixture. SLSA is an optional ingredient and mainly adds bubbling/foaming in your mixture and does add a sort of lightness/fluffiness to your bathbomb mixture. If you're going to use it, definitely have ventilation and a mask of some sort because while it's not toxic it's a very fine powder that can irritate the respiratory system :).

      @@cottitamessar2019 Thank you very much. Just wanted to know if they both compulsory ingredients as I want to start the business so am doing my research 😘

    I have a question, can I use regular almond oil?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  3 роки тому

      While it is possible to use store bought oils, they can act unpredictable because they can be sitting on the shelves for months before being purchased or might contain unwanted additives. If you are going to use store bought oils, always do a small test batch before doing a large batch!

    Ann Marie, these are beautiful. However, I came back to it because I just watched an old inside edition where I was surprised to see you go through a boiler explosion with your babies. What the heck, I just watched this video yesterday and I had inside edition on autoplay while i cooked dinner. I saw your face for one second and did a double take. Glad everyone was ok. That could have gone way worse. Looks like it was a while ago but it's still scary. 😊

    Soooo is that emulsifier for the oil a necessary addition or is it optional?

    • @KatasaurusRexxed
      @KatasaurusRexxed 4 роки тому +5

      If you don't use one then your tub will get very, very, slippery at the end of the bath, and the oils will float on the surface of the water visibly during the bath. Since your fragrance oil won't emulsify you risk burning sensitive skin if it's not a safe oil (depends on the fragrance, especially high risk with essential oils.) Also, leaving it out of heavily coloured bath bombs will also cause an epic tub ring of mica. All that said, it's up to you! But if you're selling them, or giving them as gifts, I'd definitely use it.
