Good to be back. We're always trying to get as many videos up as we can, it's crazy that some channels get more than one done a week. But maybe we'll get to focus on this full time one day.
You guys are really cute together!! The fresh snow on the pine trees was exceptionally beautiful to see. You are blessed to have this piece of land. Cheers and as always stay safe 😊
Im impressed with her, I know what he can do. She is one heck of a helper, not afraid of the work, the outdoors, to pee and poop in the wild. It sounds a little much but she's a keeper....
With the Weld in the fire-place broken, you DEFINITELY are going to want a carbon monoxide alarm. Most of the gasses will go up, but carbon monoxide is heavier than air and will sink, and then silently fill up an enclosed space. The degree to which it will do that while the fire is hot - I really don't know. It might not at all - and I note that you do have a vent in the lower part of the wall too which should help. Listen to me chirping on like an old man lol. Lovely to see you both back at the cabin though - I do love it!!!!
IF YOU ADD A BATHROOM, YOU CAN DIG AND CREATE YOUR OWN DEEP SEPTIC TANK WITH A CONCRETE LID. YOU CAN DO ALL THE PLUMBING FOR TOILET, SINK AND SHOWER YOURSELF. EASY BREEZY.
I need my comfy chair or a couch or love seat. I have a deep cast iron skillet that i have never sanded. My seasoning over and over keeps it from sticking. Your pan is quite shiny though which i suppose is what you wanted. You cabin is so beautifully built and well insulated. Very tiny but fine for weekends and short times visiting the outdoors.
Every man’s dream… A cabin in the woods to share with someone who really loves him. I would trade the million dollar lake house for love and peace… so tired of being nothing but a butter after working hard all my life to please her!
We have a second cabin that's roughly the same size that's the bathroom & storage room. The inside isn't 100% done yet so we haven't posted a video of the inside. We probably will within a couple months though.
Вам нужен застеклённый тамбур вместо площадки. В доме будет значительно теплей. Ветер не будет дуть в дверь и снег мешать не будет. . В наших краях когда мороз -30 это хорошо работает.
Yeah I usually put it in an oven after searing but that wasn't an option. But after we sliced it up and seared the individual pieces it's become our favorite way to do steaks so it was a great discovery for us.
I've hardly welded in my life and the metal is so thin and easy to burn through. I'll have to practice a bit before I do the stove. I did one cast iron to the point it was a mirror and the seasoning constantly comes off, so I've found that a tiny bit of texture on the surface is ideal.
You still have snow..... I used to live in the north, then I moved. At that time we also had snow until the end of May, and then suddenly everything started to melt and there was a lot of water in the city.
Pozdrawiam z Polski 🙂
great cabin!! your show is so relaxing just as a advise try to change the glass door of your heater in my experience tempered glass is not that durable around fire
Great job, you are jack of all trades and your assistant did a great help. I always wanted to do similar project but I am not familiar with the legal details, I have few questions if you allow me: The nature looks very pure and clean, is it in Canada? Did you purchased the land from owner or company, how many acres, is there any restrictions and how much roughly the acre price? How far is it from nearest city, or from the city you live in. What is the recommended budget for a similar project? Thank you
Sorry for not getting back sooner. This is in Utah. It's about an hour from the nearest town. This went way over budget, probably $8 - $9k total materials but some of that was due to mistakes I made. I could have done it with same finishes for maybe $2k less now knowing what mistakes to avoid.
Get a nice Honda 1200 watt genny, that will go 12 hrs on a gallon or 2 of gas and is very quiet, clean, can barely hear it. 1200 watts should be fine for that, for lighting, small hot water heater, or perhaps a propane system for heat, cooking and hot water ?
I've thought about it and probably will just for an emergency. We typically don't spend more than a week here at a time and the small lithium batteries and solar panels get enough done for what we need. Occasionally if we run short I'll run my truck to charge things but I've only had to do it once or twice so far. The place is very easy to heat in winter though, like a twig fire is enough to warm it up.
Amazing level of craftsmanship by the two of you! Regards to the wood stove; after welding repairs are complete, what do you think of a bottom layer of firebrick to help insulate the bottom of the stove?
There isn't much space for it, we wouldn't have room for the iron grate if we did that. I guess I could always cut it though. It might be nice but we've never had an issue with it being cold inside since we insulated the walls. So it probably isn't necessary.
I wish I knew what, and where you found those wood panels over the inside walls. They are beautiful! Is it pine? It is a small footprint, but having the ceiling so high, keeps it from feeling closed in, and I think the whole thing is just brilliant! Love it. Think I wanna try out that skillet buff idea you had.
We got them at home depot. It's tongue and groove board blue pine. We're definitely glad we did the high ceilings. We'd definitely go with a bigger footprint in the future, even a little bit would add so much usable space. I think a 12x10 or 12x12 would be the bare minimum and that's just for a retreat cabin like this. We use cast iron pretty much every day so ease of use and cleaning makes it worth it.
We will eventually but we haven't finished the inside yet so we're planning to wait until it's all done to show the inside. I wish it was done but work hasn't allowed us to spend as much time there as we'd like. My guess is it will be a couple of months.
We built a second cabin a hundred feet away that's the bathroom and storage room. The inside isn't 100% done yet so we've only posted a video of the outside construction of it.
It didn't come with any, it's a camping wood stove. We thought about adding some but we're able to bake inside of it currently and if we add the fire brick the inside space would be too small for our cast iron and baking.
I was very shocked in that there isn't much heat radiating from the fire box anywhere but up. We don't build huge fires in it though, the place is so small we only need a small fire to get it toasty hot inside
Walls with batts and the floor with reflective bubble insulation. We always wear shoes on the inside, it's impossible to keep the floor clean without a mudroom or entry area
I ordered it from Etsy from a Turkish company called Nurgaz. I haven't seen them on Etsy since but I've seen other nice looking smaller stoves on Etsy.
Yeah it didn't turn out as I'd expected but when we improvised and did individual slices teppanyaki style we ended up loving it. We do our steaks at home like that now. Try it if you get a chance and let me know what you think.
A heck of a lot more useful. Before we started I thought it would be done in like 2 weeks. But there were so many small steps that I didn't anticipate. So in hindsight I would have made it 2-4 times bigger. And btw it's just a retreat for us, not our home.
Great content as usual! You guys make this small cabin living look so easy. Aaron I get the impression that you dont like doing nothing for too long. Stay safe🙂
We have a small refrigerator in our truck but most of the time it is cold enough outside we just store our food in our other structure with the bathroom in it
I could gladly spend the rest of my life in that cabin and spot. It's beautiful.
It really is. We always feel so good and happy when we're there whether we're working or relaxing it doesn't matter.
Thank goodness you guys are back. We missed you.
Good to be back. We're always trying to get as many videos up as we can, it's crazy that some channels get more than one done a week. But maybe we'll get to focus on this full time one day.
Enjoyed this vlog! Beautiful couple. Blessings.
Glad you enjoyed it! Blessings to you!
You guys are really cute together!! The fresh snow on the pine trees was exceptionally beautiful to see. You are blessed to have this piece of land. Cheers and as always stay safe 😊
This is a great Lifestyle in the World 😂

Belo lugar. Vocês moram em que cidade. Aí é um lugar pra laser ou vocês moram aí nesse belo lugar
Where is it located in the beautiful place?
The cabin looks sooo good and all the little extras youre putting up makes it all the more homey x
😊🙏
She's stunningly beautiful. Lucky 🍀 dog
Luckiest dog 🙂
I agree…though she is a bit of a wild one with a knife 😊
Those tiles under the bed should do the trick! Man, I really like that vent director you made, touches like that make all the difference!
Yeah I didn't make up my mind how to do the vent until that morning and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Thanks for watching!
You look so happy together. May that happiness continue for your whole lives. And yes, your wife is drop-dead gorgeous.
Thank you very much 🙏
You guys are awesome and inspirational
Thank you sir 🙏
Cute cozy house 👍
Thank you! 😊
Im impressed with her, I know what he can do. She is one heck of a helper, not afraid of the work, the outdoors, to pee and poop in the wild. It sounds a little much but she's a keeper....
I'm not sure how UA-cam suggested you guys to me, but I gotta say I'm really pleased! Also, great tip on the pan!! Thank you both for the video 😊
Happy accident 🙏
She is so pretty.
Thanks!
Aaron you are so stinking talented! Build her a master bedroom. Add it on to the back. Flat roof. You know it's coming. 😂
Thanks! I already built her a master bedroom, it's in the loft 🙂
Aloha! I missed you guys! Your tiny home looks beautiful & cozy.
Thank you so much! Life's been busy but we're trying to get more videos done. Thanks for always supporting us 🙂 Aloha!
Soooo happy i'vr found your channel. love these kind of videos. can sit and watch them all day :)
Glad to hear it! We'll be spending a lot of time at the cabin this winter.
You are an adorable couple. Steak looked great
Thank you 🙏
I'm so glad to watching your masterpiece and days. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed! Our pleasure 🙂
the best part was waking up to the snow
Agreed. It's always a nice surprise
The Beauty is in the details. Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching 🙏
I love your tiny cabin, and your skill is admirable.
Im still waiting for the bathroom installation.
Well there's a video of us framing it but we haven't finished the inside 100% yet. We'll have that video once it's totally done. Thanks for watching!
It looked like you were going to feed an army!! Great videos! Thank you
No army gets to eat this good! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
That is so comforting, you are a great couple. This is all my dream, good job.Good luck with everything! E.
Thank you so much 🙏
I’m so glad that I found your video! Watching the two of you usually makes me want a good meal! Your cabin is wonderful!
Thanks Cheryl! Cooking and eating here is awesome. The convenience of a kitchen and the peace of the outdoors together.
Keep up the good life. Enjoy watching your carpenter's skill small cabin but build the best. Just comfort room and your good 👍 to go. Keep it up 🎉.
Thank you 🙏

Good to note. We do have a CO detector up high but we should get one plus a propane detector down low
Thanks for watching and for the tips!
From Hawaii with love and Aloha 🤙🏾
Aloha friend!
The cabin is very nice, but are you going to insulate the ceiling?
We plan to eventually but when we use the wood stove we have no issues with keeping it warm, so it's a low priority
Hermosa esa cabaña, muy buena cocina. Genial amigos los seguimos desde Argentina. A disfrutar.
loved your videos, awesome little getaway, enjoy life, made me feel young again lol
🙂 glad to hear it!
No need to sand it once it's used a bunch. I figure sanding it speeds up that process by a year or two. And thank you 🙏
nice set up. small but really nicely done, everything is so plain and in great taste, no unnecessary tat.
Thanks! Yeah it's so small that it would become cluttered so fast.
Fantastic work!
Thank you!
Well done, brother.
Thank you 🙏
I didn’t realize how much stuff you had to haul from where you park! Lots of exercise 💪🏻
It kept me fit all winter 💪
Next? An olympic size swimming pool! And a sauna!
The sauna is definitely a good idea!
Every man’s dream… A cabin in the woods to share with someone who really loves him.
I would trade the million dollar lake house for love and peace… so tired of being nothing but a butter after working hard all my life to please her!
Yup, society's priorities are all a dead end
YOU GUYS SHOULD ADD A BATHROOM LIKE SOME OF THE OTHER BUSHCRAFT FOLKS DO.
We have a second cabin that's roughly the same size that's the bathroom & storage room. The inside isn't 100% done yet so we haven't posted a video of the inside. We probably will within a couple months though.
Привет ребята! Как всегда видео супер, смотрю с наслаждением!

That Big Piece of Meat Could of Made 2 Lg. Steaks Cut Crosswise. Looks Good, but Too Rare. Love Your Cozy Cabin. Stay Safe!!

Empecé a ver sus videos y me gustan mucho son muy creativos hacen linda pareja bendiciones 🙏🏻👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
¡Gracias! Nos alegra que nos hayas encontrado 🙂
You should polish that skillet some more and turn it into a mirror. To bad the welds let go on the stove. If you can weld, that would be great.
I've hardly welded in my life and the metal is so thin and easy to burn through. I'll have to practice a bit before I do the stove.
I did one cast iron to the point it was a mirror and the seasoning constantly comes off, so I've found that a tiny bit of texture on the surface is ideal.
No !!!!! The pitting is what makes it stick proof. Just need to season it properly.
You still have snow..... I used to live in the north, then I moved. At that time we also had snow until the end of May, and then suddenly everything started to melt and there was a lot of water in the city.
No shower or toilet?
There's another structure that's our shower room, toilet room and storage room.

lovely couple she is stunning
Thank you 🙏
With a place that small - but cool - you need a lot of outbuildings but you build them yourselves.
Yup, that is the plan. Just take our time and have fun with it, it's our getaway
Красавчики ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
great cabin!! your show is so relaxing just as a advise try to change the glass door of your heater in my experience tempered glass is not that durable around fire
It probably isn't but we don't live here so it will only get light use
What a cute couple😊
Thank you 😊
Thanks

lol yeah she cracks me up all the time. She thinks she's so funny

Where do you guys go to the lavatory ? Bathing and bathroom while you are there.
We built a second structure here that's the bathroom. We have a video of us framing it but the inside video isn't up yet
Muy lindos los dos.🩷🩵👋🏡

I missed it. What is the little mesh covered port on the side, next to the stove? Ventilation?
Yeah it has a few minor benefits but the main reason is to make sure the fire never consumes all the oxygen in the cabin.
@@2withnature I agree. That would be bad.
you two are great! but there is a dog missing... an old craftsman from Germany
Thanks! The neighbor has dogs so we'll get them in a shot one of these days.
When you throw chains on a 4wd pickup you need to put them on the front tires.
Back tires seem to work just fine. Our rear axle locks, that why we put them there.

Hello from Russia! Nice couple! Looks like you living happy life
Thank you and we are 🙂 Best regards from the USA!
Little cabin seems an understatement. 😂
Teacup cabin

saluti amico!
Can you show, how is the bathroom cabin?
We will eventually but we haven't finished the inside yet so we're planning to wait until it's all done to show the inside. I wish it was done but work hasn't allowed us to spend as much time there as we'd like. My guess is it will be a couple of months.
What do you use for your bathroom?
We built a second cabin a hundred feet away that's the bathroom and storage room. The inside isn't 100% done yet so we've only posted a video of the outside construction of it.
Video rất tuyệt vơi
Where is your fire brick in the wood stove? You have to protect the steel....
It didn't come with any, it's a camping wood stove. We thought about adding some but we're able to bake inside of it currently and if we add the fire brick the inside space would be too small for our cast iron and baking.
Hi i just started watching i was curious were u guys are from
Welcome 🙂 We live near Utah and make most of our videos there
Where is the Bathroom???
Hi, I'd like to know in which country you're at home, I couldn't find anything. We think Canada ! Cheers from Bavaria.
We're in the western USA. Cheers!
This looks like northern AZ. Is it?
Where is this location, generally?
This is in Utah
Where's the bathroom gonna go?
There's a separate cabin that's the bathroom
THAT is NOT a Steak...it's a ROAST 🙃
Then it was the best roast I've ever had
the base of my dads fireplace has sand to prevent the bottom getting too hot, worth trying a half inch layer of it?
I was very shocked in that there isn't much heat radiating from the fire box anywhere but up. We don't build huge fires in it though, the place is so small we only need a small fire to get it toasty hot inside
What do you do for a bathroom?
There's a second structure we built that's our bathroom
are the exterior walls and floor insulated?
Walls with batts and the floor with reflective bubble insulation. We always wear shoes on the inside, it's impossible to keep the floor clean without a mudroom or entry area
Thanks for showing us the process. Are you a tradesman professionally?
Our pleasure 🙂 No I'm not
What is that water contraption? Maybe it's covered in a different video I just need something similar for a build I'm planning.
For the faucet and sink? It's a dometic water container and faucet but the faucet is kinda finicky. We're gonna replace it sometime.
What state are you in?
This is in Utah
What is the name brand is your fireplace please I love get one that size with a glass door for my cabin I am going to build 😎
I ordered it from Etsy from a Turkish company called Nurgaz. I haven't seen them on Etsy since but I've seen other nice looking smaller stoves on Etsy.
10 mins side 1, then flip, 8 mins side 2, prefect med-rare 2” steak.
Yeah it didn't turn out as I'd expected but when we improvised and did individual slices teppanyaki style we ended up loving it. We do our steaks at home like that now. Try it if you get a chance and let me know what you think.
Ok im going to ask.....wheres the outhouse?
We have a bathroom in a separate structure. There's a video of us framing it but the inside isn't 100% finished yet.
Hi
👋 do you have full clip of removing snow from the truck 🛻
I don't think so, it was just more of the same with the broom
@@2withnature oops okay...i am little crazy about shovelingg :)
Maybe its been covered, but I can't find it. Is your cabin in Colorado? Been thinking about buying property near Alamosa.
No this is in Utah. We're not very familiar with Colorado
Would it not be more useful if you just made it a little larger?
A heck of a lot more useful. Before we started I thought it would be done in like 2 weeks. But there were so many small steps that I didn't anticipate. So in hindsight I would have made it 2-4 times bigger. And btw it's just a retreat for us, not our home.
Your workmanship and attention to detail is outstanding.....so rare and so nice to see....best of life pleasures to you two !!
Thank you very much!
Great content as usual! You guys make this small cabin living look so easy. Aaron I get the impression that you dont like doing nothing for too long. Stay safe🙂
Haha yeah we're not going to be young forever so we gotta use it up while we can. You stay safe too!
A simple recommendation, I have found out the hard way ryobi tools don’t perform as good, I’ve had a battery burn and other bad experiences …
Did the battery catch on fire? Or it stopped working real fast?
DeWalt are the best, a bit pricey though.
Agreed. The ryobi are usually 1/5 the price so I get a whole suite of tools for the price of 1 dewalt
😁👍
🙂
How about refrigeration?
We have a small refrigerator in our truck but most of the time it is cold enough outside we just store our food in our other structure with the bathroom in it
but cook anything with sugar in it , it will stick my skillets are over 100 years old and yes it will stick
Unfortunately yes. If you find a solution for that let me know
Please share. Thanks
Where are you situated and in which country
This is in Utah in the USA
