Ive tried many weapons and this combo is by far the most fun for me.. even when i often miss my spikes, its so gratifying when it hits.. the crosshair right off target may have been the key to help me hit it more consistently.. ty for this!
6:16 Empowering Proximity gets removed when you swap weapons. This is true for most weapon passive perks that give empower except for Keenly Empowered on weapons.

just a tip, scream into oblivion into ice spike will = 2 seconds of root time. It's nearly the only combo that will still land during the root without them being able to evade/dodge out etc.
Hey just wanted to lot you know that I am pretty sure the empowering proximity buffs go away when you switch out of the VG. So it really doesn't help the ice damage. Correct me if i am wrong on that one.
Just wondering.. your Void ultimate didnt proc once in the last 2 videos you posted, How do you weight having voidblade to get that ultimate proc more often vs having oblivion? dont you see a spot for voidblade over oblivion to melt some tanks and to get some sustain with selfheals vs 1vx melee comps?
@@drgitgud really? I get musketed/Bowed down, and been playing void blade since they nerfed us mages into the ground. of course i built my character literally to take out GA/Hammer users. Having no mobility is rough. Void blade get clapped by bow and musket, Will probably lose to a fire and ice mage due to slows and Burn out. but its strength is unaliving, those spear,sword, rapier, GA, Hammer users.
so i've been debating on running double gauntlet but wouldn't it be horrible for Mana? i feel like im crutched by the Fire Staff because heavy attacks give me back mana and i can easily get back to full without depending on food or potions

I built my gear and skills like your instruction. At first, the Ice spike deal only 300-600 damage. I thought I was lied. But when I see your video, I knew that I did not cast skill the right way to deal 13k damage like you. I hope I can do as good as you in PVP. I'm using 600 GS Crystalline Curse and Nothingness, do you think If II buy a 590 GS ice gauntlet with 29 int, 1 slot gem with 2 lines of Keen Viccious 11% for 11k1 coins is better than Crystalline Curse ? @@drgitgud Thank you ! I just got Top 1 and average 12-18 kills per match in OPR. My ping is around 130ms-165ms, so it really hard to get 4 stack damage of Ice Spike.

hi mate, why not using light armor? You don't want to be tanky, instead you want to output as much DPS to bring them down and run away. What are your thoughts about light armor?
@@drgitgud yes I noticed. I get raped all the time in OPR. I make good damage but if 2 or 3 players rush me, I die 90% of the time and am not able to get away.
@@drgitgud maybe 1v1 but its not practical in group stuff or war. Oblivion is faster, helps your team and 20% dmg boost to ice spikes is already enough to drop most people to near 0. You expose yourself to being cc'd already by playing VG, going up and trying to shower someone just for spikes is wasteful and adds more risk. Shower is also on a long cooldown.
Wasnt the empower from vg that made the increase, but the rends and ig bunos damage such as ultimate chill. You could replace orb with oblivion though.
You must have really good ping. Can't use this build effectively with 150+ ms. I run a similar build with FS/IG but the FS makes up for my ping issues by allowing me to keep distance.

Gotta love void and ice gaunt Doing a 3 sec cc instant without any cast time thats not dodgeable into insta one shot or even more cc. Out of all stuns in the game the cry is the only one which stuns time cant be reduced, and its the longest and it cant be dodged only predicted and it has the lowest cd. Game is rlly balanced.
its not the same cast, the balls spawn right in the middle and collide with your hurtbox as they spawn, deal damage and despawn. they have to make them spawn furthe rout the middle to make them not hit like that, or activate their hitbox later
If your betting they will nerf mage. You are most certainly hedging your Bet. They're currently playing Bow, Sword, GA, Hammer. so expect those to get buffed, and everything else counter play to that to be nerfed.

@@rifie1495 A good player doesn’t get hit with spike unless they are stuck in a shower. Literally no good player gets hit with a spike without a reposte stun or sword & shield bash… if you know they have spike then stay your distance. It even has a extremely recognizable animation on top of it.
Mage needs a... thing. this requires a setup, gear, and someone to be undergeared glass cannoning to really make it effective. You cant just run out and start ice spiking everything hoping it will die. it just doesn't, and if you don't line it up PERFECTLY, ur attack does like 700 damage. maybe less. like most mage skills. Literally , any melee attack does more damage then mages skills unless they are set up. Mage AOE's tickle the enemy, and are easily healed off. Mages' are out damaged and skill damaged verses other ranged classes. Mages are sub optimal basically in every situation- So they have to use their control ( ice shower, slows, burning, debuffs, empower stacking) of the battle field, and go for a setup to kill. if you You don't walk into ice shower, block, or run away. and dont walk into the setup. or immunity frame setup...then that mage, is a dead mage. Its really not that hard. if you see a mage Ice storming a door in OPR, walk behind the base and go into the other door, A mage with its back to you, is a dead mage. You can Delete mages a hundred different ways. LET them have something. JFC
Nah don't get nerf happy again pls. This is the only thing making mage viable rn after the nerfs. Ga didn't need to be nerfed, mage didn't need it either. You keep this mentality up everyone will be playing box/musket/rapier.
@@jocerv43 nope comfy with my vg/ig heavy build now. Just don't want dex losers crying until the game becomes mmo call of duty. My light armor ga/wh build is literally unusable do to the lunge nerf. It's been proven to be 2m instead of 3.5 as well, I'd be fine with 3.5.

Also, Voidcaller perk won't do anything since you lose the stacks when you swap. It's not reliable without Voidblade to consistently proc it.

oblivion costs too much mana to use outside of high value teamfight placement // edit: compared to just use iceshower which is rend and more dmg amp

In OPR for the last few days a bunch of kids have been trying to run this, The ice spike hits my heavy armor for like 700 dmg
i see alot of people trying, it looks easy but actually hitting those big spikes is way harder than you think

yes definetly get keen / vicious! and get rid of notihngness, the focus on it is really bad for the build vicious is better imo

vicious is the best i think, keen is pretty meh in pvp
Have you considered running 50 dex for the extra crit? If so, why have you decided against it?
idk why i would waste 50 dex for 5% crit, crit is pretty shitty in pvp because of crdmg reduction

Good vid. Only thing you forgot is utilizing oblivion beforehand. For both quick comboing with scream and in the maximizing dmg segment.
you dont have mana for orb oblivion scream shower spike.

So what I got from this video is this, If you land your shots, you can actually kill things. I need to work on that.
This is actually a good way to kill someone off-guard or those people who are glass cannon but it barely damages heavy people(GAXE)

It is a root btw, so you can still attack in place. So you can answer back with a stun to get away or even hold right click to block.
