Husqvarna 390 Chainsaw. Just Look It Over, Please

- Usually when a saw comes in to the shop there is a specific complaint that comes with it. Other times the request can be as simple as "just look it over please. We can do that. #smallenginerepair
You reminded me of my great uncle who used to call electricity "Juice" and gasoline "Go-Go Juice"...
A wise man, your great uncle 🙂
I learn something valuable everytime i watch one of your videos, Scott. From a DIYer just tinkering at home, a sincere thanks.
I'm glad to hear it and I appreciate you tuning in.
I have an older 390xp and it is a great running saw, I notice the right back side shroud hole is slightly worn than the left, just like mine, plus the guy has a different screw type that holds the break handle, because it vibrates out so much, he probably uses so many screws. I had the break handle screw vibrate out awhile it was running, and the break handle came off and the chain shredded it up! Those smaller type screws with all that vibration causes those threaded sleaves to wear down over time. I find it ironic that saw deals with same problem with those two holes just like my chainsaw. - cool video, love chainsaws....
Thanks for watching!
I like your video neighbor, i still want one of those carb mount things you made! LATER

Very good repairing videos. I recommend you to upgrade camera to 4K 60fps quality in the future, you will get a lot more views!
I bought a used 4k gopro and took some videos. The file sizes were huge. I have over 200 video repairs in storage now and it takes up two hard drives. I would need to update my storage ability first.
Great!
Thanks!
Thanks Scott for another great video! Nice cameo from Mr. Big Screwdriver. 😂
:-) thanks for watching!
Good old logging chainsaw buddy , change the gas filter were read my mine . 😊
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Hello from Lithuania and thanks for the video. 👍
You're welcome and thanks for watching!
Hey, Scott! That one different screw on the recoil sounds like a JIS screw. I recently switched from Phillips screwdrivers to a set of JIS screwdrivers and driver bits and am removing all my Phillips tools to a box somewhere. JIS not only work perfectly on JIS screws but also Phillips. They don’t cam out but really hold onto the fasteners. I highly recommend this as a tool upgrade.
That is excellent advice and I do have one JIS screwdriver in the box. I learned that lesson from working on japanese motorcycles. This screw however didn't provide for the phillips head. It was slotted or allen.
Lmao "nice and tight, no one will ever get that off again"
That's exactly what I was thinking!
I'm pretty sure that will come back to bite me.
Right On 😎😀👍🏼
"Motion Lotion" What in the blue pacific! Sounds like a more accurate description of bar oil than mixed fuel. Either way, whoever came up with that name definitely didn't have their mind on 2-cycles at the time 🤣
It’s only bar oil
@@rcf8367 I guess I misunderstood.
It’s your life, job and videos. Call it what you want and we’ll live with it. Does the fuel line on your puller help grab the line.
No. It just gives it the appearance of something more than a piece of wire. I guess I'm concerned someone may think its garbage and toss it otherwise.
Im thinking I should bring my mac770 down for you to get running again. Im guessing fuel line issue.
I'd be happy to take a look at it.
@@TheGreasyShopRag I'll try to find a time that works to bring it down or send it with Chris next time he comes that way.
That's a big saw
As I understand it, a popular saw on the west coast.
Hi Scott I have a 1996 husky 372xp and need a new intake boot from the cylinder to the carb and was wondering the best place to find the boot
Ryan at Wolf Creek saw shop has them.
A new one from any Husky dealer is $10 msrp.
@@TheGreasyShopRag I’ll have to get one thank you very much
Look at the cylinder 1st . Wise!!!!!!!!!!!
You know it. Thanks for watching!
