For me this was the most heartbreaking scene in ‘Outlander’ Caitriona deserved every award there is for her outstanding performance, what a phenomenal actress, also her performance when describing Faith to Jamie was second to non, Just unforgettable as was Jamie’s face, full of compassion and disbelief all at the same time, really magnificent acting 🎭
@@mattieblackeyes957 Hello, I was in pieces during that heartbreaking scene, it was unforgettable, Caitriona’s acting skills are phenomenal, along with Sam’s. I’ve never seen acting like there’s in All my 85 yrs.
It’s honestly beautiful how gentle everyone was with Claire. The women were so kind to here. Many times people don’t know what to say to people after a loss but they captured this so perfectly
i haven’t read the books. for this reason lol. i didn’t see this coming at all. now i want to read all of the books. lol. i cant wait another 3 years etc. 🤣
@@AMYV3 - You're safe to read the books because what happened in the season 7 finale with Fanny wasn't part of the story that Diana Gabaldon wrote. The series appears to be going in a new direction for its upcoming eighth and final season. Edit: To clarify there is a young girl named Fanny in the most recent book but the tv series totally changed her character into something new.
This scene is my favorite in this whole season. A character that, at least in the show, is very superficial and fatuous, and yet she tells Claire exactly what she needs to hear and is there for her in her lowest point.
Every single time I watch this episode, I cry. It never fails to bring me to tears and I’ve watched it at least 10 times. Hits the same each time. Cait acting here is SUPERB! She really taps into the pain of losing a child. It’s indescribable. 😢😢😢😢
I think we're all here scratching our heads and wondering how this is possible. Book readers like myself are also probably wondering why the tv series changed the character of Fanny from how she's written in the most recent book.
How about “Claire meets Baby Faith” or “Baby Faith dies” she experienced a stillbirth, the loss of her first child, the death of her daughter. Miscarriage is not even the correct term medically in this case.
@@sassytbc7923 I believe that if Faith had been fully developed and full term, it would be a stillbirth. But when the placenta is disloged and the baby must be removed, it's a miscarriage.
One of my all-time favorite episodes, brava to writer Toni Graphia! I believe this is called a stillbirth (born dead), not a miscarriage. Mother Hildegarde tells Claire the baby was "mort-né".
I cried when I saw this for the first time. I had my 2nd miscarriage recently and I suffered a great lost from them both. My first one I was 22 and I had no one to turn too, my ex bf didn’t believe me and said I deserved it. I had to carry that guilt alone. My 2nd and recent one my fiancé been star and helped me through it. He’s upset too I know but he expresses feelings in a different way to me. Which is fine. This scene is really heartbreaking and her acting is very good. Sorry to say but I find Claire&Brianna’s characters quite annoying but I really feel the pain Claire went through. 🤗
@@terraalbritton6405 thank you it was tough but at least I’m not with him anymore. How are you ? Did you have support too ? I hope so NOONE deserves to go through that alone 😃🤗
Technically it was both. She was not able to bring the baby to term which means she miscarried at 23 weeks or so, I’m guessing. The baby could have been living up until she went into labor.
Too bad she lost her first child. I wonder how the story would have turned out had Faith survived. And then, just like that, she gave birth to her second child
I know they couldn’t do it, but I wish they could’ve brought Faith to Lallybroch so she could’ve been buried with her grandma Ellen, uncle William and grandpa Brian.
Stillbirth = Full term baby born dead; Miscarriage = Placenta dislodged, baby aborted early spontaneously. This was explained to me when I lost a fraternal twin.
Disculpen, no sé inglés. Claire and Bree were such irritating and arrogant characters in the books. Most people here did not read the books - they only let a director interpret the book for them.

and when she starts crying right afterwards.... my heart still hasn't mended since that episode aired

I hope they’re not going to go GoT crazy with the last season.

Mee haha
Me too 😂 Didn't remember the song.

@ exactly how is this possible if she was buried, I didn’t read the book tho
How can she be alive ??? 😢
How about “Claire meets Baby Faith” or “Baby Faith dies” she experienced a stillbirth, the loss of her first child, the death of her daughter. Miscarriage is not even the correct term medically in this case.
My thought exactly.
Perhaps in those days it was considered a miscarriage, and that’s why they used that terminology?

EXACTLY! The term “miscarriage” wasn’t even used commercially until the 1960s, health professionals would say “spontaneous abortion”.

Please change the title. Claire did not miscarry. She had a still birth.
I was thinking the same thing

The saddest scene of the entire show so far, even more whey Claire and Jamie said goodbye to each othe at the end of season 2.
When*
Too bad she lost her first child. I wonder how the story would have turned out had Faith survived. And then, just like that, she gave birth to her second child
It's such a shame Jamie couldn't be there for her when this happened.
Catriona's performanse in this episode was Oscar worthy
I know they couldn’t do it, but I wish they could’ve brought Faith to Lallybroch so she could’ve been buried with her grandma Ellen, uncle William and grandpa Brian.
And Uncle Robert.
Welllll......doesn't this just hit a bit different now!!!
techincally a stillbirth
No. Stillbirth = Full term baby born dead; Miscarriage = Placenta dislodged, baby aborted spontaneously.
Some have speculated that that lady switched her child. But she was still pregnant, so that theory does not hold.
So very sad. Not exactly a miscarriage, she was stillborn. Faith Fraser.....how Caitriona didn't get an award for this episode alone is BEYOND me!
It was both
I think late miscarriage might be the term for it.

This scene destroys me every single time

Faith.
Is.
Alive.
Maybe. It could have been someone who had heard her sing. We shall see.
Or another time traveler
I really hope not because that would be ridiculously stupid, even for a show involving time travel.
😢❤❤sad event
