I will never understand why Frank gets so much hate. It is not his fault that his wife found comfort with another man. Plus, he is not his ancestor, and Claire was wrong to hold that against him.
I think its because book readers know he was abusive, rascist and cheating on Claire for years with his colleague when they were in America. In the show the most obvious is that he knew Jamie was alive after Culloden but didn’t mention this to Claire- some view this as selfless but I don't. He went and sought another woman, tried to divorce Claire and threatened her for custody all the while keeping Jamie’s survival a secret- if he has moved on to find love elsewhere then he should have-rightfully- told Claire about her soulmate being alive, given her the chance to also seek love.

Obviously circumstances led her to Jamie. But I do think she was very unfeeling where Frank was concerned. She gave very little thought to what he was going through while she had the comfort of another companion.
He has every right to be upset, but it’s not Claire’s fault. She had **NO IDEA** if she was ever going to be able to come back. So - emotionally speaking - she made the logical choice and moved on.
She had the choice to go back. Jamie left her at the stones to go back; she stayed there a while thinking what to do and in the end chose to stay. She went to him and they went to Lallybroch. So yes, she is to blame. Was she wrong for following her heart? No. But she is at fault for his pain for leaving him.
I feel so sorry for Frank because little does he know that Claire has fallen deeply in love with Jamie and no matter what he does nothing can change that! Slowly he realizes this and it is so very sad!😢
Poor guy? He was insistent on telling his story like her's didn't matter, continued to talk over the top of her, took for granted that what he said was the way things were suppossed to happen, instead of trying to be equals within their marriage. She didn't want to hurt him & said that their marriage was over because even though she still cared for him she couldn't love him the way she did before. Because he wasn't listening to what she was saying she had to be blunt about the fact that she was pregnant to another man. And I say again she didn't want to hurt him.
@@karenwilson5445 You didn't get what Frank meant. As a woman, I can tell you couldn't because you for Jamie. As a woman too, I got what Frank was trying to say and do here. Actually, in this scene, I did feel sorry for Frank and I understood what Claire was trying to do too.
