try to either use foam foot pad stickers on the front of the board and for the upper rails where the camera will; hit. Also there is very thin foam you can buy in a roll about 10cm wide that they use under metal framing for plasterboard noise /air insulation here in france via leroy merlin - 20m rolls I think. This will reduce impact damage. or use foam stickers on your camera.
I have not done this but going to start wingfoil this year.... put some packing material (or closed cell foam cut to wrap around the go-pro housing so it leaves the lens view open) so if the camera hits the board some of the energy is absorbed. It also has the added advantage that if the camera comes off your wing it will float.
Thanks for your advice! Unfortunately the camera has a weird shape and big lenses on both sides (Insta360 One X2). So it's not possible to wrap it like a traditional GoPro.
Suerte! Ya me contarás como va.
Which action cam do you have? There’s soft silicone cases for go pro for example. I have a very cheap camera and would glue xps foam to the sides of the waterproof case. Xps is cheap and easy to get in most diy stores. Ps.: nice footage, +1 subscriber!
Thank you!! It's an Insta360 One X2. I use it with a lens protector, so I can't use silicone cases unfortunately. Even with a case I would still be worried. I just won't attach it to the wing anymore.
@@windaddict I really like the insta360 back bar. I’m not sure if it’s strong enough for winging but there are similar harness mounts out there. Imo that angle looks the best for a 360 cam
@@GARAASJ For sure that's one of the best perspectives. However then I need to drill holes in my harness to mount something like that and I fear that it is also in the way in winging and could potentially damage the wing or board when falling. Have you tried this wingfoiling?
@@windaddict no I haven’t. I have a cheap non-360 cam for which I use a mouth mount or wrist mount. With 360 cams most seem to like the harness mount and flymount.
just get some solarez, sandpaper and fix it yourself, it's easy and fast, would probably take less than 30 minutes as you sand, let it dry and sand again.
Good surfing claudio. Was it a slick the broom one ? The pumping is different with those wing. The gel coat on the lemon dent a lot , if you didnt break the carbon dont repair it, if you see the green foam inside the lemon than you have to fix it, suck on it if you can felt water coming out or air you have to repair it, but you could fix the board yourself that what i do. For the camera depending which camera it’s but if it a regular gopro you could get the orange casing made of foam it will absorb the shock it’s cheap on aliexpress ,if you have a 3d printer like me you could make a custom one in tpu … rail saver protect from denting and some damage to some extend ,not huge shock tho. Tell me if you need some more detail for repair or anything else.
@@youdigsurf thanks! The 4m² boom wing was a Duotone Foil Wing from 2020. The board was cracked so I first put some epoxy on it to keep going, but now it's at the repair shop. The camera is an Insta360 One X2. I don't think there are any soft cases like the ones for GoPro because of the shape and the big lenses. You'll see in the next video that I'm trying something different. Thanks for your advice! 🙏🏻
@@windaddict ive checked you can find a silicon casing for it, it's should dampen the damage depending the thickness of it, since it ultra cheap like 4 euros you could even get two and try to stack them one after another damaging one to fit inside another.
You are right there is one. But then I can't use the lens protector anymore so risk scratching the lenses. It's complicated. For now I will mount the camera on my helmet.

Thanks for the advice! I am just not sure if I want to put foam stickers all over the board or the camera.

True. Won't look too nice though as I can't paint it myself.
You can try inflatable gong board.
I would like to, but first I'm going to try something different
