I am so thankful to you to tell this. I was testing a chain of commands and wanted to test run it so as to check whether the command block was even powered. To check it I input "/kill @a" and realized... oh. shi-.
I dont have Java edition, but can't you edit the properties file without creating that server?

fun fact: running /kill @e or @a from an command block it only kills entities in certain range. So if you have bed that is very far away you might get out of the command block's reach

There is one way to prevent this, as the owner of the server, you can go into the worldsettings file and turn allowcommandblocks to false

@@noahmartin5239 the allowcommandblocks setting only stops command blocks from working, you can still obtain the item by the use of give, setblock, fill, clone and other means, they will just never output any command you put inside, by default the setting is on false, also, by the default worldsettings, the command block can only be edited in creative mode

You can only die 20 times so after 20 deaths you'll be able to play
No 20 times a second so like 40 times over 2 seconds and so on

he said 20 times a second, meaning that the rate at which the command gets executed is 20 times a second. it has an indefinite timeframe meaning the command will keep executing 20 times a second.
think of it like pvp clicking. 7 cps means that every second, you are clicking 7 times. but theres nothing indicating when you stop clicking. same goes for here.

Lesson from me: when u have a world where you have mods, command blocks, or performance mods:
DONT EVER CHANGE YOUR RANDOM TICK SPEED. EVER.
(it'll break chunk loading forever)

When I was messing with command blocks, I accidentally put myself in a teleport loop, solution, disable command blocks long enough to fix it lol
Or set random tick speed to like 100000 and destroy the command block and set the random tick speed back to 20
There’s another way. There’s a command to make entities spawn entities, so do that with snowballs or arrows and boom the world is gonna crash
Another way to make a Minecraft world basically unplayable is “/execute at @e run summon cow”. The world will be unplayable within 5 seconds
My brother found a command for summoning all entities to the command block on our world, this included players, and applied it to a repeating command block. Didn’t sound bad in theory until we couldn’t reach the block to turn it off because of all the animals surrounding it and making it lag.
Right, use something like nbt editor to disable command blocks. Then just destroy the block and turn command blocks back on ingame

@@gusfring69420 don’t remember well but from what I do, it was a repeating command block with the summon starter and I think the specific entity was just “all” or “all entities”. This probably doesn’t help much we did this like a year or two ago and I’d have to find the world again to get the exact code.

If you were to have keep inventory on, you would be fine since you wouldn't lose anything in your hands/pockets/inventory.
But if you are dead, then that just sucks...
yea you would have stuff in your inventory but you cant access them unless you use nbt editing tool or something
Yes but no. The issue is not losing your stuff. It's that this command soft locks your world. Once you start it, there is effectively no way to stop it without running commands through the console(which is a pain)

there is actually a way to stop the repeating /kill @a, simply by before logging into the world you go to settings and scroll down, finally turn off “commands enabled”, then there you go

There’s actually a workaround to this, just disable the command blocks in settings
The solution of the last Problem is a 3rd Partie server like aternos or something else on which you have to Upload your ,,broken world" and do the commandblock setting to false then you have to join and break the cmd block, evoila you can now download it and it won't will try to kill you anymore
Me and my friend made a Trident summon a Trident 20 times a second. We threw ONE Trident and the world crashed in less than a second.

you could also do /close on a repeating command block i think on multiplayer servers which i think repeatedly closes the server as soon as it opens

In bedrock, creative mode players cant be killed by anything. Even in using survival, if u die u can still use settings to change modes. So bedrock takes the w in this one

The 2nd step is to join the world and if you place the command block really far away then if it's not inside the simulation distance you won't be killed until the command block enters the distance in which it exists

You can turn enable commands off in bedrock edition so it’s not as deadly as it seems. There’s also a new command called /camera now which is replay mod but for bedrock
Try /tp @p “coordinates 10 blocks away from command block” then put it on repeat

For bedrock when it doesn't kill you in creative just summon the ender dragon 20 times a second. It's fun.

So go to the world settings through the world selection screen and disable the command blocks, I don't know if it works in the java version, but that's how I do it in the bedrock version

An abusive admin actually did this a while back in my world
I got an idea to do it on bedrock:
Add a lever that activates 2 command blocks, all repeat type that are
1)gamemode a @a
2)kill @a
And then activate immediate respawn.
Boom.
Then do this on that one friend that doesnt know how to disactivate commands and you are done!
Do exit you just have to reset the game, dont worry
