Hi all, First of all, I wish you a successful academic year. Some of the methods I use to save and understand information. First: I write the phrase to be memorized ten times has been repeated from my head without looking at it five times and then write it five times and so has been memorized. Secondly, I explain the phrase or lesson to be memorized and as if I explain to another person is not necessarily to have someone with you and you can put the pillow in front of you and imagine that someone in front of you. Third: I look at the sentences or phrases and repeat them dozens of times to memorize them.
Straight A student here, my studying tips are: 1) must have a clean table or space to work in. Clutter and mess is distracting. 2) must have a planner so I can visually see what I need to do and can cross them off as I’m done, otherwise it feels like I have hours of homework over various subjects and it’s super overwhelming. 3) study between classes in college. You’re there anyway, so go to the library and use your time well. That way you can chill when you get home and get your homework out of the way 4) obviously go to class and get off your phone because like Hannah said, it’s SO much easier to study once you’ve learned the info in class instead of having to teach it to yourself right before the exam.
I’m a straight A student and this is what I do 1) wait to do homework until the morning before it’s due 2) procrastination 3) studying 5 min before exam 4) letting Jesus take the wheel 😎 And did I mention PROCRASTINATION

I'm here in quarantine at the end of a school year trying to convince myself that I will study more next year. I've been repeating this process my entire school career.
When I study I this app I use called forest to study that basically sets a timer so that you can’t go onto other apps and when you use it you collect coins and when you have enough coins you can trade them in and they plant a tree in the earth (hence the forest theme lol) just thought I’d share bc it’s changed my study habits so much!!!!
okay forest is a good app, but when you set the timer you can just press the home button and go to another app and that's why it didn't help for me. I did find another app that does, it's called Flipd. You can do a timer just like the one in forest, but you can also do full lock mode, that means that when it's locked, you can't get into any apps, just the ones that are really important (contacts and for calling). Even when you restart your phone, the app will open itself again and u can't use any other app while the timer is still on. I hope this can help :)
@@melwood4971 wait you normally cannot get on other apps, unless you whitelisted that app( via settings ). Forest worked amazing for me, I also like the look of my forest since you can choose between many trees and plants and flowers,... but you have to pay with coins to unlock those plants, and that is why you should set a timer on so after that you get coins. When you kill your tree before the timer ends( by opening an app ), you will not receive any coins and your forest will not welcome another tree( since you killed it). That is why I love forest app!
Part 1: 2:28 • what type of learner you are • go to class and pay attention • take good notes Part 2: 6:49 • Find what works and stick to it - time of day (she does at night) - atmosphere (clean room) - candles & salt lamp • have a study note book - summarize your notes - do what engages you - color code, rewrite notes
one thing that always works for me is pretending to give a lecture on the stuff that i'm learning! sometimes i explain concepts to my friends and have them ask me questions about it. if i can answer their questions correctly, then i can probably answer similar questions correctly on an exam. if not, then i know what i need to brush up on :)
Erin Coghlan I had one day to study for a quiz and I made my sister sit down and did a lesson then I looked up practice problems later on. Super useful tip because I got a 100%💜
The types of learners in most cases is not effective in studying Tips I can give are that actually worked for me : -Giving yourself quizzes at the end of the week after you’ve taken all the classes and just trying to see if you actually retained any information that you were given in class - studying in different locations wether it’s a different room in your house, different section of the library etc it helps you perform better on tests - and another is mixing up the study content. Maybe one day use props to help you study, the next day you use bright colored flash cards or something, it makes the information stick the same in your mind but differently - and also spacing the study sessions instead of just studying every single subject in one setting - study with groups of friends and take turns in teaching each other the material and helping each other figure out the weak points of each persons on the study material
1. know what type of learner you are 2. pay attention in class 3. take good notes part 2 ~ studying techniques! 1. time of day - find what time of day is best for you 2. atmosphere- make sure you are in an enjoyable environment [clean ur room] 3. the actual studying- . go through school notes and summaries them in a separate note book, . set up a system for how you want to display the information [mindmaps, colour coding] . activity study - just reading ur notes over again leaves space for you to get distracted and disconnected
Hello Rachel, this is my new video about how to study at home ; please feel free to give your opinon, Thanks : ua-cam.com/video/qIxZNvtWWOg/v-deo.html BEST EFFECTIVE TIPS TO HELP YOU STUDY AT HOME
Here are some tips I do. 1: Have a quiet surrounding. Personally, I’m not a fan of loud environments when studying. I will get agressive, and shout. Go into your bedroom if you don’t have a study room. 2. Have a neat desk, and neat notes. A neat desk gives me a different feeling. I have a relaxed feeling at that. When I watch my neat notes, I can read clearly. I will not be struggling to read it. 3. Put away all electronics (unless you need it) I go and put my phone in my bedroom, and walk to my study room because if you have a text message from a friend, then obviously you’d be tempted to open the message. This will cause you to have a full conversation with them, without studying even a tad. 4. Set goals. Okay, let’s say I’m doing my final exams, (I am,) study one topic constantly in one day. I do four topics everyday. If I get a definition wrong, I continuously repeat that definition. It helps me to remeber it more clearly. 5. Bargain for things. If you bargain with your parents (I did this for merch) say “Mom, Dad, if I do well in my exam, can I get _______?” This will cause you to want to study more. 6. Set a timetable (if you want to do multiple things) This is my personal timetable. (My class starts at 9) 7:00AM: Wake up. 7:15AM: Shower, bathe, brush teeth. 7:50AM: Relax for 10 minutes. 8:00AM: Start to revise topics. 8:30AM: Revise another topic. 9:00AM: Join class. I don't know if this is for college but doing this the day before an exam doesn't seem very effective to me, the workload is just too much, but I have to recognize your method seems very effective if you apply it for at least 1/2 before an exam have a nice day 😍

Thatis acutally not good. Your brain associates your bed with sleep. So if you study in your bed, you wont get good concentration than if you are studying at your desk. You will also get sleepy faster because you study in your bed( where you are supposed to sleep ). So go study at your desk!! Your grades will automatically be higher, this has been scientifically proven. Make sure you open your windows for oxygen for your brain. Also, take a break every 20 minutes or more ( depends on each person ). This way, your brain will remember everything better and will understand everything faster( less time consuming ). So this result into having more freetime( watching netflix, TV, phone,... )!
This is the only video that’s actually helped me study effectively. Before I didn’t even realize how the type of learner you are affects the way you study. I used Hannah’s study method and I got a great score on my AP world test
you can also do these to study better; 1- play low volume background music or songs. if you're really stressed or anxious when you're studying the night before/cramming for an exam, it helps you calm down a bit. 2- pace around while studying/memorizing. every time i do this it helps. i suggest if you don't fully understand something you actually do before trying this because it definetely won't stick in your head if you don't even know what it means. 3- if your mind keeps wandering to songs, make a tone for whatever you're studying. even if the tone is bad, act like you're singing the sentence you're trying to memorize, and just sing it in your head over and over again until you don't need to worry about your mind wandering off to lyrics and songs because that's where it's going. 4- studying at night/early mornings actually does help. by early mornings i mean 4-6 am in the mornings. 5- tell your stuffed animals what you have learned and explain the whole concept of what it is to them. it feels accomplishing for some reason and also helps with learning.
This video was actually 100% useful for me and who are the other youtubers who helps us study by telling us learn the way we learn easily. Your amazing.
1. If your professor posts lecture slides online, print them off and bring them to class. That way you can focus on what they professor is saying without having to copy information from the slides. 2. Read your notes out loud. This is particularly helpful if you're not feeling motivated or focused.
This video is super helpful and also incredibly validating because i’m also a reading/writing learner and the only way I’ve been able to study is by copying my notes out a second time but I always feel like it’s a waste of time 😖 But this makes me feel very validated for studying that way!
Thank u, Hannah for this video. I'm going to start my second semester at college so this was super helpful since we're kinda like the same type of learner. I also need to rewrite my notes in order to be able to study better. Thank u again for this video !!
Oh yeah!finally.I was waiting for this for so long I would love to see more school related content specially week in college. (You can even do a month in my life):) love u
This is definitely not a typical "studying tips" type video and for that I am so glad. I feel like I've watched the same ~study tips~ video a hundred times by a hundred different people and this is a breath of fresh air. I'm a real one but also a very new one bc this is the first video of yours I've seen
Hahahah literally for the past hour I've been staring on my books and doing nothing, its ten thirty where I live and I've done no homework for tomorrow, or studied....pray for me
1. know what type of learner you are 2. go to class & pay attention 3. take good notes 4.actively retain information in class 5. study time 6. clean your room/ have candles 7. summarize your material use Dif colours (I think that is useless, active recall and revision works way better)
i'm mostly a visual learner(and auditive as well but it helps me learn faster when I mix both) but I learn really well by writing , reading and then saying aloud what I write, because I kind of,visualise the thing I need to remember while saying it aloud.
fun fact: there have been many studies done & repeated over time that show that learning styles actually don't mean anything & the way you learn & retain information isn't linked with your "learning style" at all!
Yes to this! I'm 100% a tactile learner. In lectures I take really quick, rough squiggly notes, within the next week or so I then rewrite them,.colour code them, add diagrams, add little side notes of literature pieces and studies I can find more in depth information so I know where to go if I'm ever writing an assignment on the subject matter, then if it's something I want to revise I then condense all of that information down onto an index card. Works so well for me.
note cards, note cards, note cards. These beauties have helped me get through high school and college. Also, writing down all the important information or equations on one sheet to summarize each section/chapter. And of course colored pens to make it look pretty to look at :)
I used to be a straight A student, but it all became too much and I broke down. Now after two years I’m at the point where I’m ready to start again. Thank you for inspiring me❤️
Literally you are the best vlogger?, or the ideas sharer that I've ever seen on UA-cam. We share too many things. Like the way and the time we study. I just met you too late. BtW I' m international student (Chinese) just got into university! Your videos are so helpful. Dear.
i’m such a freak with my notes, i feel like if i’m not the one writing them or the notes don’t come from my brain (which is basically me translating what my prof said into my own words) they don’t make sense lmao it has to be my handwriting and all. i didn’t like that when i was in highschool but now that i’m in college it’s worked pretty well🤪
i think this is the most useful study video i have found. ive been studying for the wrong learning type - i am excited to find things that work for me! :)
You have no idea how reassuring it is to find someone who is exactly like me, the organization, the physical writing and reading, the separate notebook. You just made my night and probably entire college life better. Thank You!

Step 10: remember to next time don't be lazy and study a few weeks ahead and if all goes wrong then do this again lol
lmao you do all of these ‘a day’ before an exam??
@@teeen3486 I have a lot of time I'm very lonely 😐
I don't know if this is for college but doing this the day before an exam doesn't seem very effective to me, the workload is just too much, but I have to recognize your method seems very effective if you apply it for at least 1/2 before an exam
have a nice day 😍
yes. studying is like an onion, i cry everytime i look at it

I have a maths test on Monday so here we are
Well it’s Monday now so here we go
Gracie let us know how you do!!!
How did it go?
good luck!!
Its been a year did you do well-
Hey this is prolly a bit late but how did u do?
Who has a study table but still studies on their sofa or bed ??
🙆🙆
Thatis acutally not good. Your brain associates your bed with sleep. So if you study in your bed, you wont get good concentration than if you are studying at your desk. You will also get sleepy faster because you study in your bed( where you are supposed to sleep ). So go study at your desk!! Your grades will automatically be higher, this has been scientifically proven. Make sure you open your windows for oxygen for your brain. Also, take a break every 20 minutes or more ( depends on each person ). This way, your brain will remember everything better and will understand everything faster( less time consuming ). So this result into having more freetime( watching netflix, TV, phone,... )!
@@vilili8785 yes. But I usually study on my couch 😂
I study on my floor 😳
vilili honestly i study in my bed but most of the times i study on my desk.. And it doesn’t make any difference to me

This is the only video that’s actually helped me study effectively. Before I didn’t even realize how the type of learner you are affects the way you study. I used Hannah’s study method and I got a great score on my AP world test
you can also do these to study better;
1- play low volume background music or songs. if you're really stressed or anxious when you're studying the night before/cramming for an exam, it helps you calm down a bit.
This is particularly helpful if you're not feeling motivated or focused.
hannah: studying is like an onion-
me: ya it stinks
This is the most creative comment I saw today
Finally someone else who needs a specific atmosphere. When I explain it to someone else they just kinda give me a confused look.
pasta noodle don’t worry, you’re not alone
This video is super helpful and also incredibly validating because i’m also a reading/writing learner and the only way I’ve been able to study is by copying my notes out a second time but I always feel like it’s a waste of time 😖 But this makes me feel very validated for studying that way!
studying doesn't make me want to cry. it DOES make me cry.
when you've been studying for HOURS than allow yourself to take a break but realize you're only watching videos about studying. Guess I'm crazy
Thank u, Hannah for this video. I'm going to start my second semester at college so this was super helpful since we're kinda like the same type of learner. I also need to rewrite my notes in order to be able to study better. Thank u again for this video !!
Isabella ZE you’re welcome!!! Good luck :)
Oh yeah!finally.I was waiting for this for so long
I would love to see more school related content specially week in college. (You can even do a month in my life):)
love u
This is definitely not a typical "studying tips" type video and for that I am so glad. I feel like I've watched the same ~study tips~ video a hundred times by a hundred different people and this is a breath of fresh air. I'm a real one but also a very new one bc this is the first video of yours I've seen
Hannah-Quick subject change
UA-cam- perfect time for an ad, ahahaha get that
Hannah: studying is lik an onion

Matea Mae and makes you cry
ONIONS are soooo yummy
I WAS JUST EATING ONION WDYM!
"studying is like an onion" yep hannah studying does make me cry my eyes out
1. know what type of learner you are
2. go to class & pay attention
3. take good notes
4.actively retain information in class
5. study time
6. clean your room/ have candles
7. summarize your material use Dif colours (I think that is useless, active recall and revision works way better)
Useless!!!!
This video comes in a perfect moment
I klicked on it after I gave up learning
we stan an INTELLECTUAL, good luck with college you got this!! also I am absolutely living for that intro haha
claire isabel omg thank you 🥺❤️
studying IS an onion.
- Hannah Elise Maute, 2019
i'm mostly a visual learner(and auditive as well but it helps me learn faster when I mix both)
but I learn really well by writing , reading and then saying aloud what I write,
because I kind of,visualise the thing I need to remember while saying it aloud.
Her: You need to know the type of learner you are
Me: Am a visual... learner I need to see what am learning
@Abigail Gil Feltes I'll let your imagination decide that...
Hannah: HOW I STUDY EFFECTIVELY (tips from a college student)
me: *sees her studying in a bed*
weLL FIRST DONT STUDY IN YOUR BED
Kaaatee Kaaateee Hahha I use to be so against studying in bed but at some point in your college life it becomes totally acceptable
I've been studying in my bed all my life and actually managed to score good grades so yeah it does work I guess
fun fact: there have been many studies done & repeated over time that show that learning styles actually don't mean anything & the way you learn & retain information isn't linked with your "learning style" at all!
*who else loves her videos and college videos?* can’t wait to make more college videos on my channel
Also, I'm a real one.
The editing in this video is legit goals!! Helped a lot!:)
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again.
Sis looks like the daughter of Josephine Langford and Billie Eilish.
note cards, note cards, note cards. These beauties have helped me get through high school and college.
Also, writing down all the important information or equations on one sheet to summarize each section/chapter.
And of course colored pens to make it look pretty to look at :)

Now I am in a right vdo after watching 5 vdos already.
Literally you are the best vlogger?, or the ideas sharer that I've ever seen on UA-cam. We share too many things. Like the way and the time we study. I just met you too late. BtW I' m international student (Chinese) just got into university! Your videos are so helpful. Dear.
“Does studying make you cry?”
Me:Yes, yes It does
Lol
i’m such a freak with my notes, i feel like if i’m not the one writing them or the notes don’t come from my brain (which is basically me translating what my prof said into my own words) they don’t make sense lmao it has to be my handwriting and all. i didn’t like that when i was in highschool but now that i’m in college it’s worked pretty well🤪
hannah: so there's a lot of stuff you have to do before studying
me trying to study all the materials in one night
me: oh no, im fucked
i think this is the most useful study video i have found. ive been studying for the wrong learning type - i am excited to find things that work for me! :)
The vibes in your room are IMMACULATE
“Studying is like an onion”
Me: so it makes me cry
how much time before an exam coming up do u start studying?
You have no idea how reassuring it is to find someone who is exactly like me, the organization, the physical writing and reading, the separate notebook. You just made my night and probably entire college life better. Thank You!
I love the fact that you are a tactile learner like me it really helped! Thanks!
studying is a snooze fest, period.😂 love you hannah!
