According to the architects:
This ranch-style home is located in a quiet suburban neighborhood in the Kanto region. The clients purchased the tiered, irregularly shaped lot as a place to spend meaningful time as a family. They wanted courtyards to play a big part in their home life, and to fulfill that request, the design makes use of the distinctive property shape and topography.

Simple but significant
I'm not a big fan of Brutalist design and architecture, but I gotta say this is GORGEOUS!
Probably one of the most phenomenal houses I have seen lately… It was mesmerizing - the spaces have this allure and secrecy at the same time that purity it is unbelievably sanguine and powerful at the same time
All the hard materials as the walls exposed concrete metals glass and timber were combined in a beautiful perfect harmony with the green plants the hidden lighting and the beautiful furniture, A M A Z I N G
This was really cool and intriguing! I just wish I’d seen more of the house. The constant frames were of the living room. The bedrooms and bathrooms would have been more cool to see! But awesome eerie vibes to this place, I love it!

Amazing design and architecture, and absolutely beautiful! However, if you had children and pets and lived in that house it would end up looking so different with toys and books and endless stuff everywhere. It's designed as an adult only house, or at least that is the way it looks. Marvelous!

No it did not. it pretty easy, they just used wood molds.

Feels very cold and dumpy. There's monsoon season in June N July, rains all day n nights, very dark sky and no single ray of sun during this period. This was filmed in summer so doesn't look to bad but usually this type of construction doesn't work in Japan per my own experience living in Tokyo. Concept is great though.

Further to this it has a flat roof which can and eventually will leak.

I am Brazilian and what I can say about this decoration is that it is morbid, extremely dull, without salt or pepper!
Do you know anything about Japanese culture? Maybe do some reading up about it. They take good care of the few things they do have and don’t like things cluttered. One well manicured Japanese Maple is preferred over a jungle of plants. It’s not for everyone but it is not dull.
@@martymaloney1032 Brasile is mostly made up of jungles and indeed such a minimalist house would fit well in a Brasialian natural setting.
@@martymaloney1032 Yes, I understand your point, the house reflects a lot of Japanese cultures, but not all of it. I study a lot about Japanese culture, the history of the Samurai, the wars, the difficulties, and overcoming. I am a breeder of Akitas because of that, I study Ikebana and make origami. Even within Japanese culture, there is a lack of life in this house!
It is not part of Japanese culture to prejudge people and consider them unfit before meeting them!
@@flawless_undergoer I live in Brazil, in São Paulo, a city almost as big as Tokyo. I like large spaces and minimalist decoration, but with life, personality! Brazil is a huge country and most of its population has never seen the Amazon forest except on television or the internet! What bothered me most about this house was the excess of the color grey! Even white would give it more life!
Many Brazilians would respond rudely to his speech! Ah, Brazil is a jungle! Many foreigners still think we speak Spanish and that our capital is São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro (some say Buenos Aires). This annoys us a lot!
The Amazon rainforest is in the northern part of the country, a sparsely populated place (although Manaus, the capital, is a big city). The rest of Brazil has a lot of personality. The north-eastern region is rich in culture, the central-western region is full of natural vegetation (not Amazonian), there is the Pantanal, wetland vegetation, rich in biodiversity! The southern region is very rich economically, composed of araucaria vegetation, large plateaus and pampas, and people basically of European descent, who brought the architecture from there. There are many cities in the south that you could think you are in Germany or Poland, and the people are white with blue eyes (it also snows in the south of the country). The southeast is the most modern and economically rich region, with also very rich vegetation. São Paulo, the main city of the southeast has more than 12 million inhabitants and in some places, you can imagine yourself in Japan (Brazil has the biggest population of Japanese people outside Brazil, and most of them are in São Paulo. It is a city of big buildings, sophistication, wealth, big industrial and business conglomerates! Rio de Janeiro, which is also in the southeast, is the second-largest city in the country, also huge, with a lot of nature and unparalleled natural beauty, luxury and sophistication can also be found in this city and in its homes!

it's really cool for sure. I like rocks and stones, but there's too much rocks and stones to feel like a home, for me personally, more like a contemporary museum/office space. I would personally add a lot more wood to neutralize the coldness of the rocks, but that's just me.

My dream house, Life is about sacrifices and compromise so the way I see myself at 28 is being able to achieve a comfortable peaceful and similar way of living portrayed in this video but I have to sacrifice the option of no family, children. It’d be nearly impossible for majority of millennials and new upcoming generations to live comfortably and have a family.
