Demolition of a 1950s office building in downtown Bethesda, Maryland. Three floors of steel structure on top of three floors of concrete structure.
Go to Part 2 to see the rest of the building come down.
• Office Bldg. Demolitio...
Produced by John Z Wetmore, producer of Perils For Pedestrians.
I can't imagine the boredom inflicted during its time in operation as offices, this looks like a far more interesting line of work!
😘😂❤
This is by far the best demo video ever! AWESOME ,I like that its not over in 2 or 3 minutes . Nice and long and very entertaining. Great job, thanks!
Glad you liked it.
i SO agree☺
I love watching demolition, thank you for your great videos once again.
Tre quattro volpi ben assestati e giù strutture in cemento armato. Buono il ritmo . Bello spettacolo!
Immer wieder schön. Gebäude Abreissen könnte Ich von Morgens bis Abends ansehen. Puschelpapa aus Balingen 😮
Nice video. Thanks for posting this excellent action video, with just the sounds of the machines and the action. BERG is currently demolishing a 12 story, steel-framed office building in downtown Columbia, using their Manitowoc 3900W crane with 180 feet of boom, with a 2 ton ball. The work is being assisted with two Komatsu PC300 excavators with grapples and buckets. As seen here, an excavator with just a bucket can be an effective demolition machine. The high-reach demo excavator with shear is great for steel-framed buildings, for cutting the steel as the building comes down.
if each multiple part demolition was on DVD set, id buy them
Éste operador es excelente, maravilloso, eficiente. Congratulations.
Mi sa che non hai visto nessuno fin ora.....guarda video di società come despe e Armofer
That’s some pretty sandy concrete there.
This kind of machine is so much more effectively than a wrecking ball.
guy on the high reach, is he still learning??
11'5 really cleaver the digger pulled the rod out of the building and used the rod to bring down some of the building
Nice and long.I could literally,watch demo,all day.
This looks like a fun job
I`m not sure what this video is all about as it keeps interupting all the adverts. Is it something to do with demolition ?
Them old office blocks must have been built when energy was cheap, no cavity wall insulation, single glaze timber sashes . They'd cost a fortune to heat now-a-days. No wonder it's coming down
The sashes are double glazed aluminium, sorry 'bout that
Built in the early 1950s. Sometime around the 1970s or 1980s it was covered with insulating foam panels and stucco, which was all peeled off before the excavator went to work.
Viejo tumbado
Does hitting with the bucket make a difference? Vs just applying pressure down wards
Impact vs just some pressure
What's going in its place? These videos are so satisfying
A 22-story hotel and office building - "Avocet Tower".
It's a pity. Most of the debris will end up in the land fill. There is so much that could have been salvaged.
The metal gets sent to a scrapyard, and the concrete gets crushed to be used in construction. Everything else is landfill material.
@@JohnZWetmore I was thinking the same. Richard Young is just assuming the worst to have something to complain.
Ya cárcel 😂
They don’t even have quick couplers??
The best demolition of the world!!!!!!
🏊😂😘
A bucket is for moving material from a hole to a truck bed or a shaker. They’re using the wrong implement.
If it works and the bucket doesn't seem to get damaged at all, then what's the problem.
Yo
It probably would be easier and more productive to use a grapple or shear, but the people in the video seem to do well with a regular bucket.
So, I'm the farthest thing from a demolition expert. That being said, why weren't explosives used to take this building down...I mean, it would literally take seconds once the TNT was installed.
This company Berg is demolishing everything in Baltimore City every time I see a building coming down I see BERG
What was the office building used for before it was demolished
I believe that a variety of businesses had offices there. I do not know if they had one major tenant.
💇😂😘😂
Hey, I worked in Bethesda back in the 60's What's the address of this demo?
It's at the corner of Montgomery and Waverly, one block east of Wisconsin.
Where can I get that attachment at the claw from
Polla garra fuerte 😂
Why so destructive? Yet, I’m glued watching.
Demolition is, by definition, a destructive pursuit.
We can try kindly asking the cement and bolts to undo themselves
😘
Te quiero muchos remedios 😘💝😂
Interesting video, showing methodical demolition work! Exactly where was this building? I grew up in the area, and worked as an electrician during most of the sixties, mostly doing service work, and downtown Bethesda was part of my territory. The family moved to the area (actually Potomac) in 1956.
It was at the corner of Montgomery and Waverly, a block east of Wisconsin. Close to the old Bethesda Police Station (which also was torn down).
💒😂😘
Nice, but I would’ve weakened the lower bearing structure a little more.
😂😘
This is the result when Father Ted tries to repair a leak in the roof 😂😂😂
Jim Carey: *Nothing Can Stop THE CLAW!!"*
Damn shame that the company could not have offered all the windows to someone before smashing them to pieces. All that glass would have made a really big greenhouse and/or solar collector
Then you get into liability issues, but yes lots of things could have been recycled. Generally time constraints does not allow that to happen..
Me muero mi remedios 😘 hecho muchos menos💞
These guys are good and the battering ram @10:30 was some good thinking!👍

為什麼不把鋁窗先拆下來??可以再利用呀?!這麼浪費材料?!
Any asbestos in the mix?
Wow good i like

How much do the workers have to pay, to have fun here? 😃
great vid! thanks!

I disagree. Donkey Kong was the greatest video game of all time.
why are those trucks parked so close belowe

Was hoping this was footage of Bethesda Softworks' office getting wrecked. Oh well.
Someone's in the building 1:15:25
petee716 Its a reflection
The overnight security guy popped in for a shite before the end of his shift. Heard a racket just before his door was ripped out by Burgundy Bergs Big claw 😂😂
Every office workers dream. 🎉🎉
They never saw a building they didn't want to tear down.
Ya quisiera mi remedios 😂
This destruction is relaxing to watch :)))
Did not read older comments, but it looks like the old Bethesda police station.
The police station was at the other end of the block. Here is it getting torn down: ua-cam.com/video/aPAerS87E00/v-deo.html
nice job
💪😂😘
Machines are evolving, look at it using primitive tools🤔😮 can just hear Mr Attenborough, discussing, that, and " it keeps making some call, maybe saying there's food available? Or maybe some mating call, 🤔😆
* not mocking Mr Attenborough* i really like him and his Iconic voice, incredibly Intelligent😊
What a awesome job 👍👍
This operator is really good, he is well worth the money they pay him
Por culo todos 🍼
All the peeling off brickwork/masonry with a steel rod is unnecessary when you can clearly see where the steel beams are. And separating the beams/metal from rubble is easy. More time = more money for demo company methinks.
Which country is this😲😳😲
USA i guess, you can see the typical emergency exit signs in the building
Like a woodpecker gonna peck it down.
man those operators are good 🇯🇵🇨🇳🇰🇷
É um tratorista muito fraco para botar um prédio abaixo
Nice!
The making of Doom Eternal footage.
I don't think i could ever live in such big city. So much noise.. honking cars, emergency vehicle sirens.. 😬 Nice demolition!
Every nine year old boys dream job.
Down with everything.
Clever operators.
it's so nonchalant

nice i was thinking about applying here for a job as a operator ! nice advertisement

Desweiteren super Rc-Material günstig abzugeben.
Alles enthalten: Dämmung, PVC ,Holz,Glas ect ect.
Man man man... So kann man auch ein Abbruch ausführen 🤦♂️
Watched only 10 minutes and i´m so happy to work in Germany with proffesional Equipment and operators. No one here would demolish a building with a bucket since 20 years. And using a steelpipe to knock out walls is just fucking up the swing bearing and is absolut not necessary.
THESE ARE PROFESSIONALS YOU DUMB FUCK ITS THE BERG GROUP INC

50:31 lol a little dent!
Cars cost quickly over 30,000$, such a dent reaches a 1000$ in repairs quickly. But i'm sure the insurance has it covered. Just silly of the driver to park next to a demolition site.
This guy needs to go to school and learn about structural engineering so he can learn about structural stress points to take a building down , start in the middle lowest part of the building the building will come down by it
Keyboard hero 🙄 I guess they need all the materials in small chunks so it can be loaded easy into containers. Otherwise pulling out the beams in the lowest floor would be the most obvious thing to do. But then if they pick up 1 thing then the rest of the building is still attached to it and covered by rumble.
Three OSCARS....
This guy is taking forever, why, because all of the vehicles parked so dam close to the demolition.
Oh so your the expert....wow I just didn’t know
believe me shut up your not the boss he needs to go slow to do the job properly I know because I work here
Looks like he’s doing a good job to me I did demo for 4 years with Bowen & Kron Berg is their biggest competition
@@terriluanne4538 I work here too!
Mmmm small that asbestos!
I'm pretty sure a developed country like the USA has made it compulsory to do asbestos investigations before breaking down anything.
👍👍👏👏👍

Resistance is futile and having fun day machine family lol
Y.
It's strangely relaxing and disturbing at the same time.
Careful destruction of a building younger than me!
No hable 🧠🫀
1:10 ?????? leave it be, they will rust through eventually
I don't see what you mean. The building has to go, everything you see there, and fast i guess 🙂 Time is money

Sorry but..., old/not proper type (for this kind of building) equipment and totally counterproductive operator...
Oh really? Tell us how it done then---
Probably Not Spam I doubt he can his comment isn’t even worded properly to make sense!🤪
@@mimnaex7263 Probably you are speaking about yourself...
BlitzTalos we are probably waiting for you to tell us how it’s done?
@@mimnaex7263 If you want to learn how it's done, watch german, dutch and other european videos. I have no time to tell you. I have my own demos to carry out.
A machine using an implement. I like it. Darwin wouldn't have anticipated that.

Anyone but me feel demolition is deserving when building is of Old ugly brick design thats centuries outdated?**this one wasnt as bad**

Just implode it already - I like the big bang and cloud of dust!
Must be a new operator, or he's paid by the hour.
