Have watched so many of your videos in the last week as I look to secure my new (first) home for my family. Just wanted to say thank you so much for being such a great resource!
This would be cool if you wanted cameras around your home that weren't obviously cameras. Eufy really needs to work on that notification delay, though.
Thank you for this video. We recently bought 2 of these. One for the front and one for the back of our house, based on your recommendation. We are really impressed with the build quality, the app and the fact that there’s no monthly subscription. I’d definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for simple, discreet security.
Dude i love your reviews! You always break everything down 🙌. Keep up the good work and thank you. I want to buy one of these next. I already bought the S340. Doorbell and one of the indoor ones. Great system.
Love seeing your reviews to eufy products, your videos are very informative and answer most of the questions I have on the products. Keep up the good work. Your reviews are the reason I got myself a eufy product and now plan on getting this light camera.
Looks like the best I've seen so far for a wireless, self powered no subscription needed camera and light. The audio and video quality are impressive. Thank you so much for the review.
I bought 4 plus one free. 3 of them worked perfectly. One would not update the firmware and another one would not charge past 80%. Eufy is replacing both. It would be nice to be able to adjust the camera lens, up or down at least. I like them.
Eufy makes good products. I have experience with their wired doorbell and a few of their S100 wired wall light cams. The human detection AI is very good, preventing false alerts. It's no replacement for a wired 24/7 surveillance system with an NVR (nothing is), but comes pretty close.
@@D0TELL Personally, I think Reolink NVRs and cameras are the best bang for the buck. Excellent quality, simple to set up and a very competitive price. Amazon often has their NVRs and cameras on sale, as well as entire surveillance kits (NVR and cameras bundles).
If I wasn't so heavily invested in Ring, I would switch over to Eufy. They have come out with some very unique products. Ring just does minor updates on previous products.
I thought I subscribed the last time I watched one of your videos. I like your measurement routine. I am now subscribed. I'm moving later on this month. This might be a good addition.
Great thorough review. Integrating to HB3 , fixing the notification delay and making white an optional color to appease my strict Association will convince me to make this an add on to my arsenal of Eufy cameras for extra security.
I've been waiting on this review for so long! Thank you for providing detailed information about the Solar Wall Light Camera. I may in the future purchase this item. Not sure if the camera angle will work in my favor, that's my only worry.
I'm tempted to try this, but worried about sunlight exposure as I have the S220 and it drains a lot, with 2 hrs exposure it does not keep up at all, can you do a review comparing the S220 and S230 please
This will work for me. But Eufy can do better with those delays. Hopefully a software update can fix it. Thank you for the review. It answered all my questions about it.
The notification on my eufy cameras are near instant, maybe you have yours set to send a message and thumbnail at the same time. Mines sends them separately.
i like it the concept .. i had this idea about 3 years ago and eufy made it. its good cause your nose bag neighbors cant complain about cameras if they think its a solar light. 12 sec delay the crook already made off with your lawnmower. eufy please fix that.. audio and video is good . this would be good to stick on a wooden fence and nobody would know the better.. great stealth product .. might get one..
Idk why they don't make more cameras like this with cameras hidden within the light fixtures so it still looks more like a light than a huge spotlight ring cam.
I would use this camera on the side of the house basically before the trash can 12secs is a long time for the main camera but integrated in a system I don’t think it would be that bad I have the doorbell/lock/ camera and a couple wired camera lights all eufy so adding this 80$ motion light cam just to the side of the house to me isn’t bad at all
For those wondering what size drillbit that they can use, I ended up using a 9/64 drillbit size for the screws on the exterior of my house. Wood exterior to be exact.
Looking for a security camera for my friends house she recently had a scary encounter but financially she can not get a heavy duty security/subscription camera im hoping to find a better camera that is solar powered she does have a patio that might need a different camera not much sun hits her door and the pillars are cement
I see that this is an older video (10 months) but i was wondering what the width is of that alleyway besides your house. I can determine whether the light is good for my purpose.
You should install a board paint to match on top of where you screwing these in and out. Will be cheaper and easier to replace vs. repairing or replacing parts of your trim
@LifeHackster Thanks for the review. Do you have the measurements for how high you mounted the camera and how close to the mounting point that you can see the ground? I'm trying to find that angle. I'm looking to add a couple of these to my Eufy system and haven't been able to find that. One of my locations would be mounted up a little bit higher (about 10') and I want to make sure it won't push the picture too far out. Thanks!
I just bought 2. Will return if it’s NO BUENO. And I Know You Do HOW FAR it SEES but YOU NEVER SAY HOW WIDE I know u say the 120 or 150 whatever. But In Your yard. I’d have loved to know HOW WIDE it sees.
Lifehackster one question with the wife solar wall mount camera light if I mount this over my side door will it pick up motion at the door itself. Thanks for your video
No anti-theft and I’m not sure if this has the sensor or if they will plan to add it in the future.. I have a feeling they won’t because it has a security screw (small Phillips) already…but we will see.
I wanted you to test the Google home integration on this camera, I bought one but for some reason Google assistant sees the camera as a light and I cannot turn it on or off from home. Wanted to know if that's just me
Thank you for the video. Does eufy make or recommend an extender for cameras not connecting? I have an s120 that has no connection and it has very similar distance as another s120 cam. It’s behind a couple of walls. Any suggestions.
Just bought this and cannot connect it to my WiFi! On my Eero pro 6, switched off 5GHz and even put in legacy mode but no luck. Switched off Eero and connected it directly to the router's 2.4GHz freauency but still no luck! Eventually resolved using a non WiFi 6 phone to connect the device to the WiFi!
@Lifehackster one thing that would be nice to know if your future reviews is if the IR LEDs on cameras are visable to the human eye (850nm) or if they are the less visible 940nm LEDs. Thanks!
@lifehackster I got a dark shaded side of the house that barely gets sun. How do you use an external solar panel to charge it if the USB port is on the back of it and it is still hanging on the wall bracket flush to the wall?
Wish the camera angle could be adjusted more down. It would have been great to place over top of entrance ways, but the angle looks like one could be stealthy and hug the wall, like in the movies, and possibly evade detection. Being able to angle the camera down more, you would be able to see faces as someone attempted to open your door or see delivered packages on the front porch.
@@LifeHackster it is weird as they have the indoor cam that can more 360, and tilt up and down. I actually have one and really like it. For these, to save on costs, they do not need to be electric, even manual pan and tilt would be better than stationary.
Great review LifeHackster! I want to be as stealth as possible that it's a camera, and I am wondering if the unit would still function if you covered up the flashing blue light? Maybe a tiny piece of black weatherproof tape cut just so it only covered that dang blinking light?
It's a combination of both, I found you can get much faster push notifications if you set it to "most efficient" where it sends you the notification without the thumbnail. Thumbnail is too small anyway, and you can just tap the notification to quickly open the app anyway.
Aside from the notification delay, eufy is becoming really innovative. I wish I could say the same about Ring. Thanks for bringing us this review.
@reggie2803...Thanks for watching!
My issue is that it doesn’t save the recording of the detection.
@@scorporsupremacy7948I have not had any issues with the wall light cameras,I did notice that I had to turn the motion sensitivity up in settings to get recordings hope this helps
I found if I turned off the thumbnail on notification, its comes through real time. Email system delays issue, not so much a camera issue.
